I use shovels with my real fire and some are too weak particularly around the handle joint to cope with the weight of the coal. This is a sturdy shovel small enough to be practical for fire use and large enough to get a good amount of coal or ashes on. Recommend

The shovel is good but the handle is a bit wibbly wobbly. I decided to keep the shovel but put a pop-rivet in the handle, which is now solid. I also added a sleeve inside to be sure but it's unnecessary.The handle should be spot welded, braised or, what I did, have a pop-rivet to make it secure; then I would give it 5 stars.

This little shovel is ideal for small fireplace clearing, moving hot ashes, or use on the ground moving moss or garden debris from small areas. The handle is a little flimsy - easily solved with a little bit of wood inserted to make a short wooden handle. Safe to buy for a relative who you think might one day like to see the end of you as it's probably too small to cause any serious issue.

Good product

I bought this to replace a Bulldog coal shovel that was misplaced. It'll do the job but it's a little flimsy.

Excellent value for a well-made item. Just hope it lasts the decades the last one did!
