I bought this for my girlfriend and I'm finding myself doing it more than her. There is something calming about painting small detailed portions of a larger picture when you feel like you aren't in control of everything you want to be. The picture is still under progress (over a month later) but I just keep it out and do a little work on it whenever I get a few minutes. I also have a soft spot for impressionist art and while this isn't exactly "impressionism" it does have that peaceful effect of seemingly random shapes and colors flawlessly coming together to create a scene that captures the "feel" of what is depicted as well as the physical characteristics. The paints are good, the brushes aren't the highest quality but I haven't had any real issues. The only thing is that the canvas came folded in shipment and now it has these creases running through it. I suppose if I ever finish it I'll mount it on a frame maybe, because I can't stand the creases. Otherwise I'm enjoying this a lot...

1. The paints provided are not really “true” to the actual picture.2. I received this set as a gift so I actually didn’t get to paint it for a year. In that period of time 5 paint pots dried up & I had to improvise.3. BIG TIP!!! When you get a rolled canvas like this, you need to put it face down on a soft cloth and iron out the creases! You just can’t paint on creased canvas4. Enclosed brushes are inferior to brushes you can pick up yourself.5. BIG TIP #2: CHANGE YOUR BRUSHES OFTEN & CLEAN THEM AFTER EVERY SESSION!

Loved this kit and how it turned out! Mine was framed. Only complaint is some of the paints did not have enough quantity to adequately cover with two coats .Love how this came out!

How are you supposed to paint this?! Came folded up in a bag and when I’m trying to paint, the creases are too folded it’s almost impossible.Thought it would’ve came flat AT LEAST, since it doesn’t come with a wooden frame.

Great kit that I got as a summer project for myself and granddaughter.
