Unbroken Trilogy: Understood, Overheard, Undenied Paperback – September 27, 2014

UNBROKEN is a collection of three connected novellas.UNDERSTOOD is the story of Ellie Matthews and Jake Turner. Ellie was married to Jake's former high school friend. Her marriage almost destroyed her and Jake blames himself for not seeing the abuse going on in the marriage. Jake has been in love with Ellie for years and he now sees the opportunity to make a move on Ellie.This novella is hot and I was surprised at how much I liked the relationship between Jake and Ellie. Even though there is a lot of sex involved in this novella, there is an underlying tender relationship that elevates the very sexual story.OVERHEARD is the story of Gracie Evans who is tired of the crummy men in her life. When she tells her friend about her sexual fantasies, they are overheard by Luke Forsythe. Luke and Gracie have been friends but Luke is surprised that Gracie's sexual fantasies complement his own.This novella is extremely steamy and includes a menage scene. Unfortunately, I think this story could have benefited from a longer story because a reader has to take the prior relationship between Luke and Gracie as a given and the focus of the story is on sex rather than a relationship.UNDENIED is the story of Wes Hoffman who runs into the woman who was his first sexual partner, Payton Ricci. Wes is embarrassed by his prior performance and tries to avoid Payton. Payton, however, remember the event in a more positive manner and is determined to have another try.The beginning of this book is all about sex, but quickly develops into a relationship where each wants more. I thought this book was funny and I appreciated how Payton turns the table on Wes in being the aggressor.These novellas are best in this format where they can be read together because the books work together to enhance one another. I enjoyed this book as a whole because each book enhanced the others. There is a tremendous emphasis on the sexual relationships of the couples and the book seems closer to erotica than typical romance.I'd give this one a 3.75 stars.

The thing about short stories is they have to move fast. Maya did good by writing about three male friends who found their better halves. Along with a couple already married and in their group of friends we get to see them go through the hook up, the break up and the make up. Again it's done quickly but you get to know them each personally and in each story the couple's are their to help each other through the storm and back to the calm. Not a fan of the shorts but in each story you see how the couple's evolved in their relationship so it took a little of the sting out of the disappointment of them moving so quickly. Each story would be a good read for times when your waiting at the doctor's office or travelling somewhere. Easily finished before you get called back to yourroom at the doctor's office or read before you reach your destination if travelling longer than an hour and a half.

Sometimes it's hard for me to review a Maya Banks book because I just love her writing style and haven't disliked anything she has written. This series is one I had overlooked. All three books are quick reads and very enjoyable. I felt everything Ellie felt un understood. All her pain and humiliation. But she is a strong woman and fought for her HEA. I liked Gracie's spunk and honesty. I was happy that she got her fantasy an forgave Luke for sort of tricking her. Poor Wes! Suck a difficult "problem" for a big guy to have. After several false starts, I was happy that he and Payton got together in the end.

I loved this book and have read it several times. It’s three intertwining stories. Love how they are such good friends and they all got their happy ever afters. I highly recommend this book.

Never got bored. It's about a group of close friends who different ones find that special person. Felt like I knew each one of them because Maya Banks does an excellent job of making each character three dimensional. The theme of each part of the book is about what different people go through when establishing a relationship. They were realistic things that normal people experience. Sorry no Billionaires, realistic people. That's not to say there isn't suspense, drama, excitement and yes great sexual scenes.I would recommend getting this book.

I don't know if it's my morality saying this but I can't imagine your man giving you a threesome with another man and then proposing to you after the fact all within 24 hours. It made the story a little unreal for me; but kept me on the edge of my seat just the same lol

If you liked the Fifty Shades books, I think you'll like this! I liked that it was all 3 books in one, and each story gave focus on a different character from the previous stories. I do wish the book was longer because they were a quick good reads, but I would recommend this book. I am actually considering re-reading it.

This book presented in three parts shows the value of friendship. It will also give you an understanding of how different relationships develop in a group of people and how love triumphs over fear and betrayal.

3 short stories. The second story was my favourite but each story is good in itself and features lots of steamy sex scenes!

I love Maya Banks books. But this one left me on my appetite. Stories are to short, you do not get to know the character's like in here other books.
