Back to Black Trim Restorer & Plastic Dye – Car Trim & Bumper Restorer for Faded Plastic – Black Plastic Dye for Cars, Dash & Trim – 70 g

Used this to blacken my bumpers and mirror casing. FANTASTIC stuff. The sponge was a waste of time and you would do better with a rag. It would also benefit from having a larger tube option. That said a little does go a long way if you apply it properly. better than "back to black"

I wasn’t sure I was going to do this myself but took pic after one coat what a difference ,,you wouldn’t know the mark was there ,I slightly sanded damaged area ,and did it while sin was beating in ,wish I’d waited till a cloudy day but wow what a difference ,Iv done another coat since but didn’t get pic but so impressed I was told just cover it with sticky fablon ,I’m glad I used this first instead ,one happy Mazda bongo lady ,,,the difference is night n day and looks like new again

It’s the first time I’ve tried this product,I was a bit wary about using it,I had scraped the black foot rest of my mobility scooter trying to fit through a tight gap I was needing to go through,I read the instructions and after applying it I was surprised at how good the result was,so easy to use and I would recommend this product.

This is a fantastic product, I have a 42 year old Vaughan Nova where the was great but the gray bumper and gril trimes had gone very bad with age . This trim restorer made them look like brand new again . Great quality and very easy to apply

Very good product, does exactly as it says, good finish. Apply a couple of coats. Only downside, its a bit messy to use, wear gloves. Highly recommended. Malc.

More of a grey than a black and goes on fairly uneven despite trying different methods. Seems more like a shoe polish than a permanent dye. Done 3 coats so maybe it needs even more. Makes it look clean but patchy and certainly not new. Tried it on a dashboard maybe more suitable for small items.

Went on smoothly, really pale parts needed two coats but I did all the black on my ford connect van and had some left over. Can’t say how long it will last though.

It does what is sad it would do but only after 2 coats and the sponge leaves streaks on the item. It does'nt go very far as its only 70 grams. Its very expensive for what it does so i would,nt recommend this product.

Possiedo una macchina che ahimè oramai è sulla soglia dei 27 anni...e il solito problema, dopo il lavaggio, è cercare sempre di poter ravvivare un pò il nero delle plastiche (con la macchina lucida i fascioni e i paraurti un pò "maculati" non sono proprio il massimo!!) Proverò l'ennesimo prodotto, detto tra me... Ed invece, si è rivelato veramente un PRODOTTO CHE MANTIENE LE SUE PROMESSE!! Purtroppo non sono riuscito a postare foto, ma credetemi che i paraurti e le fascie laterali erano messe piuttosto male (maculati bianchi!)...ma il risultato è stato a dire poco sbalorditivo! Consigli di utilizzo: Può bastare anche un solo passaggio (anche perchè la quantità del tubetto è piuttosto esigua), ma nel mio caso ho voluto fare due passaggi - lasciando trascorerre un pò di tempo per poter fare impregnare bene la plastica - e devo dire che il risultato è come delle plastiche PARI AL NUOVO! Una nota importante: cercate di fare attenzione che il prodotto non finisca sulla carrozzeria durante la stesura perchè poi ci vuole un pò di olio di gomito per rimuoverlo! (se avete tempo e pazienza, consiglio di fare una mascheratura). Credetemi, un prodotto ASSOLUTAMENTE DA PROVARE (detto da chi ne testati parecchi)!

Utilisé sur des plastiques intérieurs de véhicule, principalement le tableau de bord et un montant qui avaient de gros défauts rouges très visibles. Franchement, je suis conquis. L’application est simple avec l’éponge fournie, le produit couvre très bien et le rendu final est propre. Les gros défauts ont clairement disparu, le noir est revenu de façon homogène et l’aspect reste naturel, sans faire “peinture bricolée”. J’ai appliqué progressivement, en fine couche, pour éviter d’en mettre trop d’un coup. Photos avant/après ajoutées pour montrer le résultat réel. Très satisfait, excellent produit pour redonner un coup de jeune à des plastiques intérieurs bien marqués.

I had tried a few different plastic restorers on my sun-faded G6 convertible, but none of them really brought the color back. This dye, however, made a huge difference — it restored the deep, rich look of the trim and gave it a refreshed appearance that lasted. The color came out even and consistent, not streaky like some wipe-on restorers. It also added a subtle shine that made the plastic look clean and like-new without being overly glossy. Application was straightforward, and the included sponge made it easy to control where the dye went. For the price, the results are excellent. It’s a much more permanent-looking fix than temporary dressings and works especially well on older, sun-beaten plastic. Highly recommend if you're trying to bring faded trim back to life.

2001 Honda CRV with really badly faded bumper and trims. Product is extremely easy to use (wear gloves!), provides colour depth and dries quickly. It doesn’t rub off when it’s dry. I accidentally got polish on it - no tell take marks or stain left. The difference in the trim is night and day. One tube was sufficient for all the trim on the entire car. Dye transfer on my arms (I’m a klutz!) washed off with soap and water. Very pleased with the results. Highly recommended.

Bueno, tardé bastante en realizar este comentario del producto porque aún fue la semana pasada cuando lo utilicé. Y SÍ, puedo decir que sí funciona. La única duda que tengo es el tiempo que durará. La mayoría sabéis ya cómo utilizarlo, las instrucciones son claras e incluso hay un vídeo por ahí, pero quiero recalcar la importancia de humedecer la zona (salpicar con agua), pues el producto se expande y adhiere mejor de esta forma. En relación al producto en sí, veis que es como una especie de crema de betún –negra-, una especie de tinte sólido que penetra en el plástico. Trae una esponja para aplicarlo, muy sencilla, que con un poco de uso ya se pone toda negra. El uso que le di fue para el techo de plástico de un Vitara (“Hard-Top”), pero con la dificultad añadida que este plástico rígido es rugoso, es decir, no es liso (imita a lo que es un cuero o piel, Véase FOTO). Aplicación del producto: Si bien hay que aplicarlo tal como se describe tanto en el papel de instrucciones como en el vídeo, quiero subrayar que al ser una especie de tinte hay que repetir en la zona más afectada sin presionar demasiado, pues sino corremos el riesgo de que el producto no impregne bien la zona y resbale, con lo cual hay que insistir con cuidado y esmero y observar que quede bien empapada la zona. Personalmente tuve que insistir en las zonas afectada (fotos) para que quedara bien, pero haciendo como digo ese blanco que se ve en las fotos desapareció totalmente. Quedé contento. En resumidas cuentas, tengo que decir, en base a lo anterior, que realmente restaura los plásticos y quedan como nuevos. Recomiendo el producto, mis cinco estrellas, y EN REVISIÓN!! por si con con el tiempo deja de ser efectivo. Javier I.D.
