If i use 4 of them could I lift a camper shell off my truck to suspend it from the ceiling?

If the weight is evenly distributed across the four, and the total load is under 1000 pounds, then yes. Each unit can handle up to 250 lbs. Note that your rope will also need to handle at least 250 lbs (total weight still under 1000 lbs), and so will the anchors where the parts are attached to the ceiling.

Why such terrible video ? How to tie ? How to release ? Controlled release ?

I don't know about the video. Never looked at it. This is a rope ratchet. You thread a rope through it, pull it to tighten and it locks automatically. When you want to release tension, there is a tab you push. If you have a lot of tension on the rope, you may have to pull it a bit to release the tab.

Is there a way to remove the hook. I would like to replace with spring clip.

You would have to drill out the rivet that holds the hook in and then replace it with another rivet or a sleeve bolt, lock washer and nut.
