Love my new set-up! Maybe you can get something out of my experience that may help you...
Wow! What started off as an intimidating, and confusing project, has turned out to be simpler than I anticipated. We moved into a house with a built in GE profile microwave, JEM31SF01, and for 15 yrs we didn't even think about microwaves. We thought ours will live forever. LOL! Well, it finally gave out, and because it's a built in model, the confusion begins! Easiest option was to buy the same model, but of course, they don't make them anymore. Next easiest is to find a microwave with same dimensions, so it can fit in the existing trim. Uh, not easy at all. This GE microwave is unique in that it's only 10" high. I haven't come across a 10" high microwave in 2023. So we had to do the last option, buy a new microwave and trim kit. Which can be expensive. So here are my tips! 1.) In my research, Panasonic makes some of the more affordable built in systems. For both machine and trim kit, it can run you between $400 to $500, and that's a great deal compared to the prices of other brands. 2.) I started off blindly clicking on links to specific models. It'll recommended a trim kit for it, then I'll start guessing "what other models will fit this trim kit?" Then start randomly clicking on more models and comparing dimensions.... this is the wrong way!!! The right way to shop for a built in microwave is to do a generic search for the trim kit. Universally, cabinets tend to be built for 27 or 30" trim kits. So for me, I searched on Amazon 27" Trim Kit. Now when you click on a specific trim kit, it will then list all the compatible microwaves you can use with it. Now, you don't have to go guessing. So for this Panasonic NN-TK621SS trim kit, it lists the following microwaves: NN-SN68KS, NN-SN67KS, NN-SN686SR, NN-SN686S, NN-SN67HST. All these microwaves have the same dimensions. We settled on the NN-SN67HS from the popular red store that rhymes with Sarget. LOL! It is identical in specs and appearance to the NN-SN686S, but NN-SN67HS is the newer model, and cheaper too at the Sarget store on Black Friday. 3.) For reference, here are my cut-out dimensions: 25-3/8 W, 20" D, and 14-7/8 H, but the interior height is actually about 18-1/4. So the difference is the face frame. The instructions for this trim kit calls for 25-1/2 W, 15-5/16 H, 21" D. These microwaves are only 15.8" deep, so I guess the 21" deep is for proper ventilation. These dimensions do allow a margin of error, which is why even though my cut-outs are not exact to their specification, I simply followed instructions to a tee, and I "BARELY" made it. What gave me problems was my height clearance of 14-7/8. The trim kit called for 15-5/16. What saved me was that the plastic black catches have a lot of play. The frame will snap into these catches via plastic strikes, but the catches have a little wiggle room. For my two upper brackets, I needed the catch to be at the highest level, so I used double sided tape to make sure the catch stays at the highest level. Even still, I had to use a flat head to push down on the strike so it can snap in. Watch my short video regarding this issue to see what I mean. Worst case scenario was simply removing the face frame and slice off a thin edge, but I didn't have to do that after all. 4.) My last tip... search Amazon Warehouse! Wow, I got my trim kit for $60 Like New condition. It arrived complete and looked brand-new. I'm guessing people tend to make mistakes buying wrong trim kits. My entire cost was around $200. What? LOL! I started off thinking it's going to be a $500 to $1000 project. Then when I discovered the Panasonic offerings, I figured $400 to $500 ain't bad. Then things got even better finding my microwave for $135 at the store that rhymes with sarget, and getting this trim kit in the Amazon Warehouse for $60. Crazy! So having said all that, what do I rate this trim kit? 5-Stars of course! Especially at the price I paid. I normally reserve my reviewing time for my Vine items, but I figured my experience here can help someone. Hope you can get something helpful out of my review.

Nice frame
This fits well and makes the microwave look really nice with my other steel wall oven etc.. I gave it a 4 as it's a bit pricey.

Perfect fit and easy to install
I am so excited about this trim kit. It took about two hours for install to ready my cabinet. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. My only complaint is the cost. I paid over 2x for the trim kit then I did for the microwave itself. Kudos to the company who sold it for getting it to me 3 days earlier than advertised!

Not sure why the design did not use moveable/adjustable clips to make it easy, I had to manufacture clips
Mounting kit is poorly designed and required a lot of adaptation to fit cutout. Not sure why the design did not use moveable/adjustable clips to make it easy, I had to manufacture clips. Quality of the stainless steel is good and it looks good once installed.

Trim Kit- adds a built in look
Looks sharp. Installed as part of a kitchen remodel. In addition to the trim piece there is also a rail for the oven and a conduit that vents the heat and moisture to the front. Another reviewer mentioned the oven sliding back, but was installed with a stop and feels very secure. It was installed in a "microwave cabinet" from Shrock and the opening had to be cut out by several inches on the upper edge. Fits very well around the Panasonic 1.2 Cu Ft stainless counter top microwave. I was planning just to have the microwave on a shelf, but my kitchen planner ordered the microwave cabinet. At first I was upset, but I researched the trim kits and chose a microwave and trim kit based on the cabinet. I am very pleased with how it looks now. I have to admit the cabinet installer fit it in as part of a kitchen remodel so I cannot say how easy it is to do.

Tricky to find right cabinet size required.
Unfortunately did not fit our cabinet and due to delay in cabinet install, missed return window. DO NOT BUY until you have the cabinet in your possession to measure, our stated it would fit but did not. Appears to be good quality though.
