great specs
2500K-7500K & 2.4G Remote LED Bulbs, 50W & CRI≥97 - Those are very strong specifications for photography/video lighting. 2500K–7500K adjustable color temperature gives you an unusually wide range. Around 2500–3200K is warm, tungsten-like light; 4000–5000K is neutral/intermediate; and 5500–6500K is roughly daylight territory. That means you can deliberately warm or cool a portrait, or more importantly, match the bulbs to other light sources in the room instead of fighting mixed color temperatures. CRI ≥97 is the standout specification. CRI measures how accurately colors appear under the light compared with a reference source. A CRI of 97 or higher is excellent. Skin tones, paint pigments, fabrics, reds, greens, and subtle neutral colors should reproduce much more faithfully than under ordinary household LEDs. For photographing paintings, this is particularly valuable because you want the photograph to represent the artwork’s actual colors rather than having the lamp distort them. 50 watts LED is substantial for a screw-in photographic bulb. Depending on efficiency, a 50 W LED can produce several thousand lumens while generating much less heat than an equivalent incandescent lamp. In a softbox, that gives you enough output to diffuse the light and still have useful illumination at normal portrait or artwork distances. The important distinction is that 50 W is electrical consumption, not the old-fashioned “50-watt incandescent equivalent.” 2.4 GHz remote control means you can change settings without walking over to each softbox. Radio control is generally more convenient than an infrared remote because it usually doesn’t require line of sight. If the system allows bulbs to be grouped or controlled individually, that becomes especially useful: you can leave your camera and artwork in position while adjusting brightness or color temperature from where you’re standing. For our painting-photography setup, the combination of CRI ≥97 + adjustable Kelvin temperature matters more to me than any of the other numbers. Set both lamps to the same fixed color temperature, photograph our 18% gray card under those lights, establish a custom white balance, and we have the foundation for very accurate color reproduction.

Seriously improved my product photography
Before I bought these softbox lights, I was using window lighting for my product photography and was frustrated. I would have to wait for certain times of day to take photos so that the light was entering the window the way I wanted, and those times of day were always changing with the season. My photos were blurry because I was having to set slower shutter speeds to get the effect I wanted. It was very hard to get uniform photos because the light was so changeable. I spent a long time in post processing (Lightroom Classic and Photoshop) to get an accurate color match. Now, I am able to have consistent, controllable light whenever I need it, and from two sources, which means I can control the shadows if needed. I usually just use one light and a white bounce card because the softbox does such a good job. I don't need to worry about any light reflections because of the diffuser screen. The bulbs included are super powerful. If I could change one thing, it would be the ability to control the brightness of the lights, but that's a tiny thing. It's easy enough to get the effect I want by changing the distance between the light and the subject. I have also found these to be endlessly useful in social media marketing videos. It's much easier to make tiktoks/reels when you have a big source of good light! And since I wear glasses I like that I don't get the circular ring light reflection I used to spend so much time avoiding. Even if the softbox is reflected in my glasses, it looks much more natural, similar to a window if you're not paying attention. These are much more powerful than a ring light as well, which means less work setting things up precisely to get the ring light close enough. I haven't pulled out my old ring light since I got these and have been making more content because it's so much easier now.

Excellent light quality for product photos
I've been using these lights for about 2 months now and have taken about 100 product photos with them. I am a reseller and I was looking for high quality lighting without spending crazy amounts of money. I was needing lights that showed the true colors of my products because I was wasting too much time color editing my pics to get them the same colors as my products. For me this lighting set up has been a huge time saver. The lights are really bright but I noticed that when I took pictures of products that have a lot of dark colors in them, it seemed like the lights weren't bright enough - the dark colors were even darker in my photos and didn't show the true color. After trying to adjust my phone camera to compensate for that, I had the realization that if I put a dark object onto a black background instead of white, the dark color of the object will actually stand out as the lighter of the two and my phone will focus on that instead of auto-compensating for the really white background. I figured that out about 30 product photos in. Since I've figured that out, I haven't had to do ANY color editing to my photos at all. So even though the lights are super bright, especially with a white background, now I mostly leave my black one up just so I don't have to keep switching back and forth when I'm shooting a darker colored product. I do love that the whole setup can be quickly and easily set up and taken down. I don't have enough space in my reseller's corner to leave them set up all the time and it probably takes me less then 5 minutes for the whole process. The one issue I can see that will most likely develope over time is that the screw mechanism that is used to hold the lights at different angles is made up of plastic and I can see the teeth starting to wear down and not hold the lights up anymore. But I think just putting a rubber washer in there will take care of the issue. Hopefully the manufacturer will listen to it's customer's and make that change. Others have stated the same issue. Despite that I still gave them 5 stars because they work SO well for me. To clarify, the phone I am using to take all my photos is the Google Pixel Pro 7 and the only editing I do now is with the PhotoRoom app. It automatically takes out the background and resizes the photos according to the requirements of the reselling platform I use.

Inexpensive softboxes
I am a professional photographer who shoots weddings, but I also like to travel light on personal vacations without having to fear getting my gear stolen. I also occasionally teach classes, and most students ask for inexpensive recommendations. I have referred them to this product. PROS - Inexpensive - Throws some decent, 85 Watt, 5500 Kelvin-temperature light - On/Off light switch - Fairly quick setup - Carry bag included - Diffuser can be easily swapped (velcro-mounted) - Softbox is lined with Silver reflecting material CONS - Stand knobs are plastic material and not suitable for professional use - End of stands are not threaded, and so flash cannot be mounted on via hotshoe - Diffuser is not quality made but will work fine to soften the light - Instruction manual does NOT provide any instructions at all. It only lists items that are included TIPS - Do not touch the light bulb with your bare hands. Oil residue can shorten the bulb's lifespan. Instead, screw/unscrew the bulbs with a towel/gloves instead. For photography students or home-based photo work, this softbox kit works perfectly well. Because of the build quality, I do not recommend this for professional use, such as on weddings, as they will not hold up after prolonged use. This product works well for light use. Overall, I like this product. If you find this review helpful, please hit the "Yes/Helpful" button below to encourage me to write more. Thank you!

My Wife's First Shoot
So many reviews leave out one of the most important aspects of lighting equipment, what RESULTS can I expect? My wife recently decided she wanted to learn photography. She found a good, used pro-sumer camera and these are her first studio pics. Learning to shoot with constant light is much easier than learning to shoot with strobes. This kit provides 2 very nice medium (approx. 2x3 foot) softboxes with diffusion covers. The bulbs are HUGE and I highly recommend putting them in the foam shipping boxes when not in use. They produce a nice light that is 5473K. This is VERY close to perfect daylight balance. Daylight is 5500k so these are close enough. Assembling the softboxes was super easy. They open like an umbrella and quickly snap in place. There are no impossible rods to insert like with many other softboxes. The bulbs screw in as you would expect and the diffusion covers hook over the corners and have velcro to hold them on. The stands are very functional. They are light enough to make transport and setup easy yet sturdy enough to hold the lights. I would caution you to not tighten the lights too tightly on the stands as the brackets on the lights are plastic. A "snug fit" will hold them just fine. There is no need to overtighten. We were able to achieve f2.8 and 1/60th at ISO 100 and that is very good for portraits. I could see this set being very useful for shooting babies on location as it is lightweight and easy to set up and it provides ample light. If you push the ISO to 400 you can easily get f5.6 at 1/60 or even 1/500 at f2.8. The ultimate question is would I buy this again if I needed another set? Yes, absolutely!

Additional assembly/repair required
Overall you get what you pay for. I’ve been doing professional video production for over 20 years and have personally built out a number of studios with pro arri lights on ceiling rigs, but for this project a friend wanted help selecting an inexpensive soft box light setup for his YouTube videos. Shipping was great with prime. Everything arrived as it should without visible damage. However, once everything was setup and the power switch was flipped, one light would not turn on. After a half hour of troubleshooting, and not wanting to send it all back and wait for an exchange (mostly due to deadlines), I took the lamp socket apart. I found that one of the wires from the two-wire power cord appeared to never have been attached. The screw that was there to hold it in place was very small. And if you have big hands you should hope for some extra dexterity and precision when working with the socket. The lamp socket is ceramic. It’s fairly rugged but if dropped or hit directly the light socket fixture will break. After I got everything actually assembled and put back together it worked like a charm. The CFL bulbs that come with are very bright but they do run hot. Not as hot as halogens, but they still get hot especially when left on for extended shoots. My friend’s studio is in a smaller room (8x12), and we didn’t want the room getting too hot with all the equipment (wanted to avoid any overheating of him & the equipment). So we opted for as-close-to-daylight-balanced 100w LED bulbs as we could. It dramatically lowers the heat output but they are not quite as bright as the included CFL bulbs. The soft boxes are easy to setup and offer good diffusion. The light stands are very lightweight. To keep them in place I recommend weighing them down with some cheap sandbags. I’m thinking I’ve probably shared far more than what most people care to read, but just in case you are like me and wonder about this I’ll share one last tip. As we swapped the CFL bulbs for LEDs and lost a little bit of light output, we bought a 2-bulb Y adapter to put 2 100w LED bulbs in instead of just one. Unfortunately this did not work. We tried multiple kinds and brands of Y adapters and none of them worked. I don’t know why, but figured I would share that so you don’t have to waste your time & money wondering if you could do the same. (We plugged the Y adapters into other [hardwired in the ceiling] sockets and they did work, but would not work in the sockets of this product) Overall for an inexpensive soft box lighting setup I might buy this again, but would most likely save up a little more for some LED panels with diffusion.

Me encantaron
