Will this pack take a 100oz (3L) bladder?

Yes. There is a bladder sleeve inside the pack against the back panel (the one against your back when wearing it), and there are ports on either sid of the carry handle atop it so you can bring the drinking tube over either shoulder.

What is the pack weight? I do not plan to keep carrying the shipping materials.

It weighs 2.65 lbs according to Blackhawk (without the shipping materials).

How much larger is this than the Army GI assault pack?

According to the Blackhawk web site, their Ultra Light 3-Day Assault Pack is 2000 cubic inches.. If you do the calculation for the compartments, the total actual comes out to 2013 cubic inches. I checked several sites for the size of the MOLLE II assault pack, and they all listed 1850 cubic inches as its capacity. They also listed the compartment dimensions, which when calculated, came up to closer to 2000 cubic inches, but none of them were the same. I suspect that the 1850 cubic inches is what the Army states as the capacity and is probably accurate. I find that I can get more gear in the Blackhawk bag and the pack itself is lighter. It weighs 2.65 lbs. The MOLLE II assault pack weighs 4 lbs.
