I bought a Heavy-duty Brute Trashcan by Rubbermaid to store my birdseed & squirrel food in outside. It took those clever squirrels about a week to figure this out what was inside & then they went to work. Each day, I'd step outside to see how much more damage they'd done to the lid while trying to free the food inside! So I ordered a Selva Supreme Quality Stainless Steel Brush Pre-Galvanized Trash Can, which arrived 10 days sooner than I expected. OH, JOY!! This meant that I didn't have to bring all those bags of seed indoors during the holidays, since those darned squirrels had almost finished chewing their way through to the goodies, and I couldn't risk leaving the food out there! I know I'm not the only person who has mentioned squirrels in their reviews, but know that none of them is exaggerating. This trashcan keeps squirrels (and other gnawing rodents) out!!

Needed to get a metal trash can to replace a plastic one that the nocturnal creatures ate thru to get at the peanuts I stored for the squirrels. The metal can is perfect.

Finally somethig to keep the mice and squirrels out of my bird food.

The can was totally damaged. Used a hammer to pound back out. However the seam was torn open from the shipping damage. Using for horse food storage. Had to seal the seam with silicon. A replacement would be appreciated. And shipped in a stronger box!!
