505 Southwestern Hatch Valley Diced Green Chiles, 40 Ounce (2 Pack)

I lived in NM for about 25 years, and now live on the east coast. This brand and configuration is one of the best deals/prices for having Hatch Chile sent to you, IMO. The glass jars are well packed too, in robust wine bottle mailers. I was worried about that, but didn't need to be. Flavor-wise, this is above average roasted green chile. Some of the fresh frozen varieties you can find in NM (especially in the grocery stores in the fall) are better, but when you're not in NM, this is the way to go. Note that it isn't 100% chopped green chile. There is some garlic, salt, and lime juice in there too. But it's like 98% pure. it's not "sauce" with a lot of fillers and/or water like some other brands or varieties. The 40 oz size is a lot to use up at once, but what I've done with the first jar I opened is freeze about 20oz for later use as stew and kept the other 20oz in the fridge for using as a condiment. The jars they sent me don't 'expire' until 2027, which is nice too. If you've been going through green chile withdrawals because you moved away from NM, this is an excellent solution.

This 505 hatch green chili is sooooo good 😋 I would highly recommend. However, I was I sadly disappointed when I found it at my local grocery store a bit less expensive after purchasing it here

Straight from 505, hatch valley. Buy these always and often, use it on everything. It's as close to being in Cruces as you can get.

Very delicious and the texture is not watery 💦. Medium is not too hot. If you want more hotness go up one notch.

This $20 jar of green chiles had already been opened and the contents was seeping out of the jar getting the inside of the delivery box wet. The adhesive packing tape was loose as if someone reached inside the box. I retrieved the box off my front porch immediately after it was delivered this morning, like I do with every amazon delivery, so nobody tampered with the box while it was on the porch. My wife and I have 3 alexas and respond immediately when we get the delivery alerts. When I opened the bubble wrap I discovered the lid was loose and the jar was wet with the contents all over it. Also, the jar did not have sufficient packing material to protect it. I am very leary about eating the green chiles because I don't know how long they have gone without refrigeration, so I'm going to put them down the garbage disposal. I am extremely dissatisfied that I can not return this item and I have to sustain this $20 loss. I will never order this product again and I will alert all my friends on facebook to stay away as well. I rated this 1 star because there was no option for a negative star rating, otherwise I would have rated it NEGATIVE FIVE STARS.
