I have big calves. I have bought Thor Los for years. Always liked the brand. They stay up all day, the fit is great. Glad now I can purchase off Amazon.

The only reason for the 4 stars was that I did not wear them for any period of time. I ordered three style's of Thorlo over the calf socks because I can't stand socks that slide around the ankle. This sock does have thick padding in all the right places and would make a good boot sock. I have medium calf's and the one I tried on was tight. I would recommend that for thick calf's get the x-large and try that one. As for the quality of Thorlo socks you can't go wrong, also they come with the lifetime warranty. For my purpose the over the calf work socks worked well with my dress shoe's. I don't like thin dress socks.

Used these socks as ~14-18hr daily use (got 6 pairs, enough to rotate them once a week) boot socks for shipboard work. These socks are very well cushioned and feel warm, however; they breath well and I never had a foot sweating problem. The high calves feel like compression socks, hugging the top of the calves and keeping them up. I love the feel & comfort but not all things are perfect. After only 12 months of use, four pairs are showing the padding giving way (see attached picture where you can see the two big toes & ball of the foot showing through). In regards to durability, the Thorlos socks compared to my previous gold toe power Sox boot socks, lasted about the same amount of time(12-15months) before I had holes in them.For the high Thorlos price, I love the comfort but I would shop another brand first to find a more longer lasting sock (the ~$15/pair for a sock lasting only a year is a bit too steep for me).

I have been a repeat customer of this product for many years. I am also allergic to Latex. The band at the top that provide pressure and holds the socks up would cause dermatological welts frequently. While not stated as a product content, I surmise that's what causing it. To alleviate the condition, I would fold the top portion down to reduce contact with the latex content which helps 'somewhat'. Unfortunately I have not found any other similar products in the marketplace that works as well for its Anti-Fatigue use for workers that needs to stand for 10 or greater hours a day.... It would be 'nice' if Thorlo would produce a similar hypoallergenic version.

I really like this brand. I bought my first Thorlos socks in the military and as rough as we were on ourselves and as many miles as we put on our feet, I needed them. That was a decade ago and I still have and wear about half of them. These Over the Calf style definitely go over the calf and up to your knee. Next time I will pay attention and get the shorter, boot height socks. I will happily keep them despite my ordering something taller than I thought. The brand makes great quality, durable and comfortable socks. I don't know what else to tell you without sounding like I have a fetish. These socks stay up without gripping too tight, they support the arch and cup the heel, provide incredible cushion without wearing down.

This is my almost exclusive socks. They help with my plantar facilitis and wear relatively well considering how much wear they get. I order 3-4 pairs at a time.

Tight fitting on elastic bit. Cushioning like a regular thorlo I will take a looser fitting one next time

It’s okay... Pretty decent pair of socks; and would encourage anyone to consider. However definitely not the best in the market, if that’s what one’s looking for.
