Love this Pesto above all others. If you don't do cows milk, this is for you. Made with sheeps milk, which is hard to find. I helps that it is great tasting.

Very tasty, but I used two of the little bottles to make pasta for three. It's kind of expensive for what you get.

I was looking to recommend a fine basil pesto sauce to my friends who do not grow their own basil, like I do. After an extensive search on Amazon, this brand was literally the only one using the traditional Italian recipe of olive oil, basil, Italian cheese - in this case, pecorino, and actual pinenuts. Not walnuts, not macadamia nuts, not Brazil nuts, not pistachios, not potatoes, but pinenuts. I was quite surprised by this. I bought a jar to try- which BTW was VERY small. For a comparison, I made a batch of basil pesto with my fresh grown Italian basil, EVOO, Reggiano parmigiana, garlic, and Mediterranean (NOT Asian!) piñoli aka pine nuts. Of course, my fresh homemade basil pesto was excellent. What shocked me about the Alessi basil pesto was that it tasted like brine- so salty that it was inedible! The salt overwhelmed any other flavors. I tried it again the next day, mixing it well, but with the same result. I then poured it down the sink. But, in all fairness, I researched my prior purchases, and saw that I had previously purchased and used this product, with no recollection of any issues. This leads me to wonder if this particular batch might have been defective? Even if this was the case, that would mean their quality control was lacking. At this point, I am not going to revisit this brand. So, this was very disappointing. I obviously could not recommend this to my friends- or anyone else.

This is likely on me but I didn't realize how small the jar was going to be and I didn't have quite enough for the dinner I was making. That being said the taste is great.

The title of the product says (12x3.50 oz) and I only received one. Missing 11 pesto bottles. And this brand is smaller then the average grocery store pesto. Seller is Laygar and I’ve disputed this with amazon and expect a full refund. Talk about ripping off the Canadian consumer.
