My 10 year old grand daughter loves these books. For her birthday this year she wanted to build her own library reading nook. These books were on the top of her list. She laughs out loud at the antics between Carol and Ava. We used to have trouble getting her to read but this series has hit the sweet spot.

I read the story with my grandchildren and we all enjoyed solving the mysteries together. The stories are clever, with plenty of action and humor, and kept the kids engaged through the third case. A fun series for kids and adults!

Book 1: Don’t be put off by the fact this is targeted towards older kids and young adults. This story once you get started will draw you in and make you feel like part of the investigation right through til the end. I really enjoyed the podcast as a vehicle for why the kids are taking on murder investigations in their spare time. It made it both believable and relevant to today’s youth. I loved the mix of podcast episodes and actual investigative work it was a great balance. The interactions between the three friends were incredibly funny and gave a bit of levity to an otherwise serious topic. My one drawback would be that while we are told the kids have solved mysteries before we’re not told or shown how and when this happened. I would’ve like to know a little of the background and how they got started. Other than that I found this to be a most entertaining read. I would totally listen to this podcast if it was real!! Book 2: These kids are crime solving savants! Although if I were their parents I’d be having kittens from some of the risky stuff they do in the name of finding justice. However when all is said and done this trio of friends take on cases to help families find answers and catch culprits that have escaped punishment. It’s clever, full of action, plenty of drama, lots of laughs between friends and a great mystery that we get to follow along and solve with the crew. Great series for readers of all ages! Book 3: This series reminds me of one of my favorite tv shows Cold Case. It’s like if Cold Case was a podcast instead of a group of homicide detectives. These kids are brave, clever and intuitive. They also have the benefit of new tech and a rather impressive fan base that helps them to dig up the truth. Each story deals with one case and follows it from start to finish. I enjoy the humor and camaraderie of the three podcasters Ava, Carol and Derik. The kids are impressive and there’s always an omg moment or two where you’re like I can’t believe they just did that. A very good package of cold case stories investigated by young teenagers.

I enjoyed this three book series as a retired woman; it reminded me of Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew collection! These books are intuitive, funny, endearing...best friends on a mission together to solve a cold case and bring closure to those who loved the victims. They have the cooperation and support of the police and city officials working through the twists and turns to find the truth of what happened to their murdered victims. These kids are observant to detail, realizing the value of networking and discovering the value of cooperation and follow through. Each book in this series is uniquely different. They are a series, but can definitely be read as a stand alone book. I will wager a bet though that if you read one, you'll be looking for the others before you are done! The camaraderie of these three sleuth teens will keep you asking for more! You go guys...Carol, Ava and Derik! I would definitely recommend these books to others. I enjoyed this story with all the characters within. The main characters were Ava, Carol and Derik. Ava, Carol and Derik have a podcast show. That they talk about cold case mystery that they are trying to solve. They also has for help through the podcast. In this book set there were three different mystery that they solve and told the podcast them. All of the mystery were fun to solve. All three stories had action, adventure and suspense throughout. It also had a few giggles within all three. I received a complimentary copy via Booksprout. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

Ava Clarke is an absolute treasure. This girl has me laughing out loud almost every time she opens her mouth to speak. I have decided that Ava is my new spirit animal. She has a sense of humor that just tickles me. I love how they are fearless in their pursuit of the truth and justice. I loved the descriptions in the scene with the intruder. Made me laugh. Actually quite a few things made me laugh…headless gingerbread men…LOL! This is a fun series to read and I enjoy the idea of these teens producing a cold case podcast…they are definitely qualified to solve these cases.

I like that each case has its own twists as a keep kept the kids engaged. It’s nice that the mysteries are set in different time periods and the characters worked well together. The kids enjoy solving mysteries so these were quite nice.
