I got this OPI Natural Base Coat and Classic Top Coat set, which I think is a great way to package these. I have relied on OPI for a long time and this base and top coast make a noticeable difference in how my manicures look and how long they last. I travel for work to different countries and my schedule when I'm on the road is morning until evening for at least a week. If I didn't have a meeting for every meal, I wouldn't even have time to eat, so there's no way I have time to redo my nails on the road. But I do like to look put together, so before I leave, I make sure my nails are done. I need polish that goes on smoothly, wears well, and still comes off easily with just remover pads in a hotel room. This set, while sort of boring, is the key to all that. I think of it as the infrastructure for my nails. When I use this combo with polish, it protects my natural nails, gives me a glossy shine, and most importantly, lets me go for a week without chipping, even on the road. ✅ BASE COAT EXPERIENCE: FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE TOUGH ON THEIR NAILS OR THOSE WITH SLGHT RIDGES IN THEIR NAILS I have slight ridges in my nails, which I really dislike and is one of the main reasons I wear polish. Before I apply this base coat, I very lightly buff my nails and wipe them with acetone before applying a very thin layer, less is more here I think. This base coat smooths out the slight ridges in my nails and gives me an even surface that makes every color look better. Chipping is significantly improved when I use this base coat. The grip is strong enough that even with my tough travel schedule, my polish stays intact. I also love the stain protection. Even dark shades come off cleanly, and my natural nails never get discolored. Since I switch between sheer and dark colors, keeping my nails bright is important to me, and this base coat has been completely reliable. It's easy to apply and I've never had any issues with bubbling or anything. It dries very fast. I think the key is to apply a VERY THIN coat. It's sort of like exfoliating my face, the point isn't really just getting all the old stuff off my face (though that's part of it for sure). The key is that all my other skincare works much better after I exfoliate. Base coat, necessary but under appreciated. ✅ TOP COAT EXPERIENCE: WHATS NOT TO LOVE The top coat finishes everything with a classic high gloss shine. The issue for me is that I don't always have time to get a gel manicure, but I REALLY don't have time to get the gel or gel-like polish off. I love this top coat because it gives me a very shiny finish to my nails. I always cap the free edge of my nails, and this top coat locks everything in so the color stays smooth and glossy. I usually apply two thin coats of polish (sometimes one for a sheer tint or up to three for a dark shade), and this top coat seals the layers without shrinking or dulling the color. The shine lasts, the finish feels smooth, and the wear time is noticeably better when I use this with the matching base coat. Even with constant travel, my nails stay looking fresh for days longer than they do with other branded polish systems. Overall, this OPI set works very well for me. I like that I can get both the base coat and top coat in one bundle because they work best as a system. The base coat smooths and protects my nails, the top coat adds long‑lasting shine, and both remove easily with regular remover pads when I’m traveling and don’t have time for a full manicure redo. If you want great results with easy removal and reliable wear, this set is a great choice at a good price from reliable OPI.

My nails are holding up longer than I expected thanks to this base & top coat combo. I was very pleased at how easily it covered my nails and spread without making a mess of my cuticles. The base coat dried quickly and allowed me to move right along to the actual color coats (the fun part). The base coat itself didn't seem to change the color of my nails even though in the bottle it appeared to have a slightly pinkish tint. When I covered the polish with the top coat, it gave it a beautiful even gloss without altering the tone of the colors in any way. The top coat also dried quickly, although I did rush it once and needed to redo the whole nail from the start (whoops!) After four days I still have no chips, cracks, color changes or shrinkage. This is a noticeable improvement from my usual top coat, Seche Vite, which shrinks within the first 24 hours every time and yellows within a week. For the level of protection offered and the ease of application thanks to the viscosity being just right, this duo pack is well worth the money.

After about a hand foot and mouth for my children I had onycholysis. My nails were peeling from the nail bed. They were just in an absolute miserable state. They were thin and I was nervous to even open the tab on a can of soda because I was worried they would break or literally pop off of my fingers. OPI is some of the best in the business when it comes to adding hard thick layers without it peeling off in a day. I used one coat of the base and two coats of the topcoat and I’m feeling so much better. I can see the peeling because these are clear but it feels healthier and I don’t have to feel the actual layers of heel. It added a nice firm topcoat and I’m on day three and haven’t had any peel off. It arrives in a great container. There’s a great quantity of the formula for OPI are very thick and this is definitely something that can be used with their gel topcoat or their nail strengthening product. Products packaging was great could be easily gifted also and I’m just grateful that I have it right now as my nails heal.

OPI is one of my favorite brands for traditional polish and these are great for any collection. They tend to not dry as quickly as some other polishes, but they are great for not chipping.

OPI is my wife's favorite nail polish, mostly because it's easy to apply and goes on with a single coat (and she likes not having to do multiple coats), so the thought of a base coat, polish, and top coat wasn't her first choice, but she's been noticing some ridges in her nails and it's hard to get the deeper colors out of those ridges if she doesn't have a base coat. She's been using a clear to help with that. She tried using this base coat and then applying a deep red and was happy to report that there wasn't any staining to any of the ridges when she removed the polish, overall that's a big win. The top coat is nice, she feels like most of the time the OPI polishes don't need a top coat, they tend to be shiny enough and last a couple of weeks, but if she knows shes going to be particularly hard on her nails she'll apply a top coat and it'll help with durability.

The cost on this set runs at just under $12 per bottle which is economical compared to other brands of similar quality. The bottles of both the base and top coat open easily thanks to the slight texture of the brush cap which allows for a better grip not only during opening but also during application and allows the tightening of the brush cap so that there is no leakage. The glass bottle is thick and stands up to accidental drops and since I'm a clumsy person. The color is crystal clear and bubble free for me, easily applied in two-three strokes depending on the nail. Maintaining daily I can reasonably achieve 10 days with my home manicure. I like this set, it's great and when just starting out I consider it a must-have.

I love this OPI, natural base and top coat set. I paired it with an OPI color. Both bottles dry very quickly, on my nails. They have helped keep my color on, without chipping. The top coat offers a high gloss. I did not notice any discoloration from my green polish onto my natural nails, after removing the polish. The base coat protected my natural nail. Both lacquers apply smoothly and they offer staying power. Getting the polishes as a set didn't make them more affordable, vs purchasing individually. Often, where I shop, the store will be out of one or the other bottles. I appreciate finding this OPI combination as a set.

I have been using OPI base and top coats for years. They work well and make my polish last longer than others with these two products. I love the base coat, especially when doing colors like black that can stain my natural nail. The top coat applies nicely and dries pretty fast and leaves a nice shine. Love these two together. This makes a great gift as well with the cute packaging.
