GLOTRENDS PA09-HS M.2 NVMe to PCIe 4.0 X4 Adapter with M.2 Heatsink for M2 NVMe SSD

I thought I could get a NVMe to 2.52 sata enclosure - how wrong was I ?I got a NVMe to use as a standard SATA in this PC to future proof as most of my kit are laptops and they are all now NVMe, so thought I'd get one of those, get the 2.5 adaptor and use a spare SATA port and be done. - nopeSaw this at a reasonable price, decent reviews. I did have a slot to use otherwise that would be a problem.I read the other reviews about the metal clips being suspect, so I simply went for the rubber bands (I had 3 in my pack) which hold the heatsink on pretty well - not sure if my drive needs it as it has a heatsink layer on it, but stillDevice was read by the machine and installed into the OS with no problems. Moving data around and I am getting pretty good speeds between the various drives in my device

For 13 quid, you cant go wrong. Worked first time and dead easy to install. I have a few NVMe drives knocking about and I thought Id test one of these adapters on one of the bigger ones. Very pleased and will probably get another one. Longevity yet to be determined but theres not a lot to go wrong with it.

The product is fine, easy to use and comes with cooler strip and bar but has a really annoying red LED. Why do you need an LED. Will be removing and putting aside for another computer and getting another one.NO TO LEDS's

Was unsure about this product as the price is cheap compared to other adapters that do the same job, but after reading the reviews I decided to give it a go.I am really happy with it ! I am getting full speed with my gen 4 NVMe drive.The only thing I don't like is the metal clips that are to help keep the heatsink on. I have not used these as even on their instructions you have to be careful that you don't short out the circuits on the drive ! These, in my opinion, are a disaster waiting to happen. I just used the rubber bands they supplied. I will use a plastic cable tie if these fail. Heatsink is working ok but drive still got to 60 degrees under load, but that was ok as my other drive which is on the motherboard socket and with a preinstalled heatsink gets hotter.I recommend this as a great way to add NVMe drives to your system.

This adapter allows me to boot from an NVME drive with an old HP Z440 workstation and is very easy to install. The drive being used is a 1TB MSI Spatium NVME and it works flawlessly and at the advertised speed too!Be careful with the metal heatsink clips as they can potentially cause a short on the underside of some NVME drives. The metal clips I received are a bit rough around the edges and can scratch/scrape the underside of the drive when sliding them on.It's a decent adapter that does the job and even the slim heatsink works well as long as your case has some airflow... It's just a shame the metal clips for the heatsink are a bit rubbish and can damage your SSD if you're not careful.

I couldn't reccomend this NVMe PCIe adapter any higher.It's a fantastic piece of kit with an amazing price. It's performs just as highly as several of the more expensive brand named adapters that I have tried.My only reccomendation would be to NOT use the included metal clips. I'd highly recommend that you instead use the included rubber bands.I used the metal clips which seemed to be great however upon removing them at a later date they were very tight and left a long scratch down the back of my NVMe which obviously causes me to panic due to it being a 2TB, relatively expensive drive.The supplied heatsink does it's job relatively well however I was able to lose an extra couple of degrees by replacing it with a superior Icy Box heatsink.

The C drive on my Dell XPS 8930 had 8GB of free memory after removing all unnecessary software. Time to Clone a new card.I purchased the Glotrends adaptor board to add a second M2 memory slot, along with a Crucial 500GB card to replace my original Toshiba 256GB .The Crucial website had excellent installation guides along with cloning software and all went surprisingly smoothly. The first boot with the new memory came up with an error code saying an input cable was faulty. It continued to boot up and I then remembered I had disconnected a plug to remove the original ssd card. Now working beautifully.

Nice to get a heatsink but only really fits a 2280. Even the fixings for 2230/2240/2260 were unsuitable. The screws were too long for the standoff (see pic).

Works.

Easy installation, worked straight away with a 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus.

I have an older PC with an X99 Extreme4 board that is perfectly adequate for productivity and gaming, but unfortunately only has one M.2 slot for adding storage. This card was cheap enough that I was comfortable rolling the dice, and I was thrilled to find that it’s compatible out of the box! I haven’t tried booting to a drive in this adapter, but the BIOS recognizes it so I have no reason to suspect it wouldn’t work.

I ordered it because I didn't have a second NVME slot on motherboard. Only use it for games and vfx, so far works flawlessly without any issues.
