Make & details did not match what is shown on Amazon. Usage instructions missing in package.

I was supposed to get it along with the manual and cloth. In fact the product claims to be the only product that comes with the cloth. More importantly the manual is missing. It claims to say 3 scales but not sure how to use it without user manual.

The hydrometer was received in good condition, but the plastic jar accompanying that was broken... Poor packing.

This hydrometer never worked for me, I would definitely not recommend it.

Works as intended. Didn't realize it didnt come with test jar but that's on me for not reading closer.

First of all, I was asked about the flavor of this item! It does not have one, fortunately. The instruction quality was a bit unclear, and it may or may not make a great gift. Giving one of these to a brewer might seem a bit like giving a wrench to a mechanic. I would make sure that this is something that they need first. If it is a novice brewer, then this would make a good gift, but make sure that you also include a plastic test cylinder! The device works, and gives a fairly good estimate on alcohol content. It is a good idea to buy two of these, because they feel breakable. Peace of mind is worth a few extra dollars. It is important to buy a test cylinder, and I prefer the ones made of plastic. This device has been a game changer in my kombucha brewing. Kombucha can have a wide range of alcohol content, so it is best to have a good estimate of the exact amount.

Photo is a bit misleading. The packaging in the first photo looks like a test cylinder but it's just a plastic container for storing the hydrometer. You need to purchase that separately
