GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter for (All HERO Cameras) - Official GoPro Accessory

This adapter works just as I was hoping it would. I use it to connect the line out of my Zoom Q3 HD and H8 cameras using a 3.5 mm stereo cable to my GoPro 11 Black. It even charges the GoPro while attached. I like the image from the GoPro 11 better than the Zoom’s but the Zoom mics provide better audio than the GoPro’s and are convenient to take on the road. As long as I set the line out audio output to 50% on the Zoom cameras, I do not experience any clipping either . While the GoPro’s internal mic provides decent audio, the audio quality and stereo imaging are enhanced greatly using this device. Update: I think this issue is intermittent but I noticed that sometimes the stereo audio would be summed to mono. The workaround I found was to follow a simple process of 1. Power up the GoPro, 2. Plug in the Media Mod, 3. Plug in the mics, 4. Plug in the power for the Media Mod. This seems to work all the time. I love this Media Mod now. With the Zoom mics from the other cameras, it makes a simple, compact solution for live streaming and even for capturing high quality recordings of my piano performances. The Media Mod is a no brainer if you are a musician looking to capture decent quality audio for your music videos.

This adapter works perfectly with my GoPro 10. Best to buy the mini cage so it can sit under the camera and plug into the USB slot. A bit pricey but completely worth it. Also make sure you buy a quality mic that can pin to your lapel

I was about ready to absolutely trash this device in a review, and then return it. After spending forty bucks, I was really disappointed. It didn't work at all. But then I thought I'd be fair, and try a different approach. If you plug this GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter into the camera along with, say, a lapel mic, and then turn on the camera to start recording, it won't work. Not at all. It's not that it will record poppy, scratchy, bad, or poor quality sound. It won't record sound at ALL. However, if you power up the camera, then plug the adapter and mic in, it WILL record high-quality sound (assuming that you've got, say, a high-quality lapel mic). Garbage in = garbage out (so invest in a good mic). But don't blame the adapter. I tested this device not only with the new GoPro HERO (2018) but also the GoPro HERO5 Session. It worked with both cameras. However, it would appear that the cameras need to recognize the adapter and then the insertion of a 3.5mm mic or other input before it will allow recording with an external device. I do have one complaint though, and that's the reason for the 4/5 star rating. This thing is overpriced. You know it, I know it, and GoPro knows it. They could have built a mic jack into the camera, or sell this adapter for five bucks. They are gouging us, but they know they can because no one else makes a reliable and working GoPro mic adapter. Still, I'm keeping mine. The internal GoPro mics are horrible, and this gives me crystal-clear audio using a lapel mic. Cheers.

Sim, tem um preço elevado para as duas funções que cumpre, permitir carregar a câmera e ligar um microfone externo ao mesmo tempo, mas sem duvida que o faz com qualidade, até mesmo nas conexões dos cabos. Tem um acabamento muito bom com um cabo grosso e bem reforçado. tem aspeto e acabamento de produto premium. Mas vale a pena cada euro que custa simplesmente pela qualidade se som captada pelo microfone externo. Um acessório indispensável.

i was skeptical about buying one of these due to the price range and i have been using non powered mic for a while for my youtube videos and it all works great , and also ppl say one touch recording for gopro hero 7 blk doesn't work if you use this mic adapter... but its now 25/01/2019 and i have no issues with the one touch feature, i get recording every time with good sound so i guess they fixed the firmware... however i find that the best setting is std mic, and std powered mic if your using a powered mic, other settings.. just have way too much background noise... honestly if your on a budget just wait and simply buy a cheap type c connector with charge and aux input, amazon and ebay sell them everywhere.... so in conclusion if your a gopro fan and want the best audio possible and u can afford it then yes buy it ...but if you have a budget and cant afford it, then buy the alternative....also the one downside is that the cable inst long enough....i would like a longer cable..or a ext...ive heard not all type c ext will work and its based on luck... , bending it all the time can cause damage to the type socket and even the cable itself..be aware fo all these factors when u buy and consider them .... also extremely fast shipping..love amazon Australia!!!! i hope this review will help someone else i didnt see the point in taking photos cuz its exactly the same as gopro original and genuine
