SmallRig Double Ball Head Super Clamp Mount Magic Arm

For anyone invested in videography or photography, understanding the importance of versatile, compact, and reliable equipment is second nature. With the SMALLRIG Super Camera Clamp Mount, my studio set-up has not only become more efficient, but also remarkably adaptable. Sturdy Construction Meets Compact Design Constructed of an aluminum alloy and stainless steel, the SmallRig mount is a testament to robust engineering. Despite its compact form, this little device demonstrates impressive durability, ensuring that your gear is held steady and secure. The SMALLRIG clamp stands at a mere 0.98 inches in height, is 3.74 inches long, and 3.35 inches wide. A surprising aspect is its weight-bearing capacity, considering its own weight is around 0.2 kg. It can support up to 1.5 kg or approximately 3.3 lbs of equipment weight, highlighting its robustness. A Master of Adaptability The double ballhead of the SMALLRIG mount shines when it comes to versatility. This feature comes equipped with a clamp at the bottom and a 1/4 inch screw on the top. The screw is a universal fit for most devices with a 1/4" thread on the base, whether it be a monitor, action camera, LED Lights, microphone, flash, or any other equipment. Once securely attached, the mount can then be fastened onto various surfaces like rods, tubes, tables, desks, or tripods using the clamp. Achieve the Perfect Angle A minor caveat with the SMALLRIG mount is that the ball joint can sometimes come loose. However, this is a small price to pay for the ability to swivel your camera 360 degrees, offering an unrestricted range of movement. This flexibility ensures that you can achieve your desired camera angle without much effort. Personal Experience In my own studio, I've employed five of these versatile clamps. They've proven to be very useful, providing me with unprecedented freedom to experiment with different camera angles and positioning. With this sturdy and flexible clamp, I'm able to seamlessly adjust my setup according to the specific needs of each shoot. I would recommend this product to any content creator looking for a compact, sturdy, and versatile mounting solution. Conclusion Overall, the SMALLRIG Super Camera Clamp Mount offers exceptional value for its price point. With its compact design, durable construction, and wide range of compatibility, it’s an investment well worth considering for both professional and amateur creators. Despite the minor issue with the ball joint, its versatility and performance far outweigh the occasional inconvenience.

I love this mount it is super flexible and you can mount anything however you like.

I bought 9 of these clamps to use with C-Stands. Each one holds a small mirror with about 1/4lb weight total for each, with no difficulty. The clamp itself (which just barely, but also securely) fits around a 1inch C-Stand is very sturdy and doesn't move at all. The actual articulation itself is where it gets a little dicey. There's a single knob which adjusts both ball joints simultaneously, so getting the perfect angle can be a little tricky trying to manipulate both ball joints at the same time, but it'll work. The joints themselves all stay exactly where I want, I just don't really like how such a small device is hard to tighten down fully. Odd angles can make getting to the very small knob tough, and sometimes I'd knock it out of place when I was twisting it shut. Other than those small small things I can look past, GREAT product and I'm literally about to buy 20 more.

Terrific product for anyone who has to video record in a lot of different places while carrying minimal gear. After all what buy a 50 gram camera so just to carry 40 pounds of support equipment for the thing? I do a lot of indoor filming in nightclubs, bars, you name it. And even if I did want to lug a tripod around in those environments someone will potentially screw with or knock over your gear, ruining your shot. That's a pretty big deal when your goal is to record a live event. But in a room I can almost ALWAYS find some pipe, a fixture, something that I can securely clamp my camera to that is usually out of reach of drunks or whatever, plus high enough to ensure a more unobstructed view. Worst case scenario you clamp it to a chair. at least you didn't carry a tripod which would have been about as bad as the chair is anyhow. As for the outdoors, if there are trees around you're probably good. The desert? Not so much but are you actually recording in the desert? Right. It's also strong enough to support my heavier camera which is a more traditional micro digital camcorder as opposed to my Action Cam which us super lightweight generic box camera PLUS a 10k battery pack. My only minus is you can't assume the thing is always tight. Not a big deal, but I think an issue that could have been avoided with some o-ring or gasket or whatever with some elasticity to provide a push against the threads becoming loose. And the cushions on the clamp surface were prone to coming off but I just glued them on, again not a big deal in an otherwise perfect product for my needs.

The Super Camera Clamp Mount with Double Ball Head Adapter - # 1138, is a good quality item. Tightening the clamp is easily done. The double ball head adapter is strongly secured when clamp pressure is applied and groves in the ball heads keep the ball head ends from slipping once clamped. The ball head adapter appears to be made of a high quality durable plastic. The clamp is heavy in weight and is of quality construction. Overall I have no complaints with this item. In my application it simply sat clamped onto a tripod post during the short period of time I had it in my possession. So I can't say how it would perform while connected to the handle bar of a bike that's in motion. I returned the item only because I wanted to upgrade to a similar SmallRig item, that being the The Super Camera Clamp Mount with Double Ball Head Adapter - # 3757 which is of even higher quality in all the areas I mentioned for the # 1138 model. The # 3757 is mostly of metal construction and has a nice design and paint job. I decided to upgrade mostly for that reason and Amazon's return policy helped matters as well. I just bought a second # 3737 item but in my opinion both items are great. If that weren't enough, they both have great price points.

This review is for: SmallRig Cool Ballhead Arm V4 Multi-function Double Ball Adapter with Bottom Clamp & Standard 1/4 Inches Screw - 1138 . I purchased the SmallRig clamp to attach a Zoom H5 portable digital recorder to my microphone stand. I attach the clamp end of the SmallRig to my microphone stand, and the ballhead arm has a standard 1/4-20 male screw that screws to the back-side of my Zoom H5. (See photo.) The initial clamp I received from SmallRig had a defective ballhead arm, and no matter how hard I tried tightening the ballhead arm it was unable to hold my Zoom H5 in a horizontal or vertical position. My Zoom H5 weighs only 8.1 ounces with 2 AA batteries installed, so it was a fairly light load. I contacted the SmallRig customer service and they were prompt in their response. SmallRig replaced the defective product, and the new product I receive works great! The new SmallRig clamp I received is able to hold my Zoom H5 in any position (horizontal or vertical without slipping out of position), and the Zoom H5 feels like it is solidly attached to the microphone stand. I can also put some light pressure on the Zoom H5 and it doesn't feel like it would move. I don't know the max weight specifications for the arm, but I would think it could hold up to 2 lbs or so and still have a solid hold. The nice thing about this SmallRig clamp is that you can remove the ballhead arm from the clamp (see pictures), so this product is really two different items: (1) a clamp that has a standard 1/4" female thread and 3/8" female thread on the back-side of clamp (see photo); and (2) a ballhead arm that has a standard 1/4" male screw at both ends (see photo). I really like the flexibility that this product provides, since you can remove the ballhead arm from the clamp and install a different type of arm that has a standard 1/4" male screw to this clamp. You can also independently use the ballhead arm on something else, since the ballhead arm has standard 1/4" male screws at both ends. (Note: To remove the ballhead arm from the clamp, you just tighten the ballhead arm with the knob and rotate the arm counter-clockwise, and it will unscrew from the clamp base.) This is a handy product and it can have a great many uses. SmallRig also has great customer service, so I would buy from them again.

Well built like all Smallrig items I own. Locks in tight and works as intended. Recommended 👍

Fantastic, versatile clamp, which I imagine I’ll be getting a lot of use out of. You can pretty much attach it to anything, I can’t believe I didn’t have one of these in my kit already. It looks really well built and strong too, I can see why this is such a popular item and glad I took the chance on it!

Excelente producto, estoy contento con mi compra, gracias, totalmente satisfecho.

Fantastic quality but good for lighter point and shoot camera or action camera.

Nice and comfortable bracket
