DHYG-FM Adjustable Digital Hygrometer for Front Mount Humidors

I ordered this hygrometer and one other to try. I also bought a calibration pouch to check the accuracy. This unit measured exactly 75% which is precisely what the calibration unit says it should be. No calibration was even needed.The other unit I bought by a different company was off by 5%. I calibrated that unit and it still was not consistent. I returned the other unit and bought another one of these.

Perfect for cigar boxes! Its the standard size for a cigar box. Any application with humidity above 80% I would recommend something designed for exterior use(can withstand: wind, sun, rain exposure). These do not handle high humidity well. You can calibrate it by filling a soda bottle cap with salt and adding a few drops of water at a time till "slushy" thick and place it in a small ziplock bag(closed with a bit of air) with the hygrometer. In 1-2 hours check the meter. It should read 75%. If not: use the knob to adjust it a few clicks up or down depending on the difference and check it again in 15 minutes until it steadily says 75%. Example: It reads 79%, turn the knob left 3-4 clicks and check again in 15 minutes. (Tip: It helps to stack a few pennies and tape them together to place the meter on to lift the meter off the bag so it exposes the "sensor vents" for a more accurate reading.)

Placed the unit in 2 ziplock bags with Boveda packet 72rh trying to set the hygrometer; spent days adjusting and only got to 74% while trying for 72% - not as accurate as they lead you to believe.

Am using this in a 50-count humidor. While the humidor came with a built in hygrometer, I was always sceptical of its accuracy, so ordered this. I placed it in a sealed bag with a Boveda humidity pack and found it needed to be calibrated, but using it, I am now confident of the storage conditions my cigars are kept in.

Works great & accurate. Easy calibration. Was only one click off perfect from factory. Perfect for a humidor.

Used a Boveda Calibration kit and the unit was only off 1% from factory, and easy to adjust. Cheaper and more accurate than the Caliber IV

The "easy calibration" did not work as advertised. And since I bought two at the same time - it wasn't that one was faulty. The humidity readings never got above 58%. I have them in my humidors but I am not confident that the readings are correct even though both are showing readings in the 70's. Also, there's no magnate or adhesive to attach them to the lid. Overall not satisfied with this product.
