Sanzo Wada was active as an artist,art school instructor,costume designer for the movies and the theater, and kimono and fashion designer who employed his extensive and versatile talents to do innovative work that centered primarily on visual perception and form. Sanzo Wada (1883~1967)'s interest in the importance of color prompted him to found the Japan Standard Color Association (present-day Japan Color Research Institute) in 1927. Active not only as a color researcher but also as an artist, fashion designer, and stage and film art director, he received the 1954 Academy Award for Best Costume Design for Gate of Hell and was recognized as a Person of Cultural Merit by the Japanese government in 1958. Un básico para diseñadores
• QUÉ RECIBO: Un ejemplar del libro en un formato pequeño y compacto, muy cómodo para transportar y consultar fuera de casa. • FUNCIONALIDAD: Como diseñadora gráfica, lo uso muchísimo para llevármelo fuera del estudio, hacer apuntes y elegir paletas de color. Es un básico para cualquier persona relacionada con el diseño porque facilita encontrar combinaciones armónicas y, además, te descubre mezclas de colores que probablemente no probarías por tu cuenta. Una de las funciones más útiles es que, si tienes un color concreto, puedes buscarlo en el índice del final del libro y te indica en qué páginas aparece combinado dentro de diferentes paletas. Súper práctico y cómodo de consultar. • PROS: • Formato pequeño y muy portátil. • Excelente fuente de inspiración para diseño y dirección de arte. • Sistema de búsqueda de colores muy útil e intuitivo. • Ayuda a encontrar combinaciones equilibradas y originales. • Libro muy práctico tanto para profesionales como para estudiantes de diseño. • CONTRAS: • La impresión de los colores podría tener algo más de calidad, aunque sigue viéndose correctamente. • Llega con una pegatina blanca pegada en la parte trasera que prácticamente no se puede despegar sin dañar la cubierta. • LO RECOMIENDO: Un indispensable de diseño que volvería a comprar mil veces. Muy útil, inspirador y práctico para tener siempre a mano.
