TopMate C5 12-15.6 inch Gaming Laptop Cooler Cooling Pad

This thing is really effective at keeping my laptop cool in the summer when I'm doing heavy processing. I do have to take my laptop out of its normal case to put it on this thing, but then it directly contacts all the fans on this unit and stays much cooler. Really useful when my laptop starts to run slower because it's overheating. I put it on this thing at max fan level (which is very quiet) and within a couple minutes my laptop is actually running its normal pace again. The super futuristic look of this thing is kinda funny IMO, doesn't go with anything else I own (more of an antique-style guy) but haha it works super well so it's fine.

I got this for my 15” gaming laptop about three-five years ago, and it still works beautifully! I love the angle and fan speed choices. It’s outlasted two of my laptops during this time, and will likely outlast at least a third based on its current performance. It keeps my laptop cool even after hours of use, is pretty quiet on the lower speeds and is still relatively quiet on higher speeds (about an average tabletop fan noise, I’d say). It’s bulky to carry around, but that’s kind of a given with most gaming equipment. It also had some rough edges when I first bought it, and is a little clunky in design. However, the edges aren’t sharp enough to cut, just a bit uncomfortable if you scrape against them too hard - usually I run into this problem if I’m using a smaller table/desk or my lap, so if you’re using a standard desk then you probably won’t have issues. They also have worn down with age, so they’re not as much of an issue anymore anyway.

Very nice stand that adjusts to different heights. The fan does help to keep my laptop cooled down. I deducted one star because the included cable went bad shortly after I purchased, which I have read has happened to others as well. I was able to purchase another male-to-male cable and get it working again. I like that the lights can be shut off on the unit so that I can watch TV while being propped up in bed. I don't think it is very loud on the highest setting (like others have said), but that might just be because I am watching TV and have other noises in the background. Well worth the money I spent with keeping my laptop cool!

2018 (late July) I purchased the TopMate C5 12-15.6 inch Gaming Laptop Cooler Cooling Pad for $24.99. It is now early June 2020 and it's showing signs of dying. I'm not a gamer, but MACs tend to run very warm and I've had this cooling fan running almost 24hrs/day, everyday (lights off, setting 6). I've done my best to keep the dust from building up by vacuuming & blowing it out with compressed air, but it still happens. Here's my setup: MacBook Pro with a 7-in-1 USB-C hub attached. Items attached to the hub: this cooling pad, which uses an old standard USB connection as well as two other USB items (LaCie drives, older drives, phone chargers, etc) and the Mac power supply. I typically leave my 2nd USB-C on the MAC free in case I need to connect a newer device. This cooling pad has been a workhorse for me. Now that it's "aged", I keep the setting between 3 & 4, and have to position the connection cable exactly right to get all 5 fans to work...it has become very temperamental. Sometimes, only the 4 small ones will work, or just the large center fan works. But remember, it's been WORKING EXCELLENTLY FOR 22 MONTHS, and still going with a little TLC. I'm ordering another one, right now, for $33. (Note: both these prices are before tax). Even with this price increase, this cooling pad surpassed my expectations compared to many others I have purchased in the past.

Picked this up last year. Have used it every day since. Works great. When playing a game it helps by blowing cooler air around my laptop. Noticeable difference in laptop compared to just having it on my wooden laptop stand. Also purchased one for one of my sons as a gift and his is still working great. His new laptop gets fairly warm under heavy load without it. Also noticeably cooler with it. That cooler air around the laptops really help.

I didn't expect to like this thing as much as I do. I have an ancient MacBook Pro that has been running super hot lately. I read a lot of reviews of different cooling devices and didn't hold out a lot of hope for them, but I thought I'd give it a try and see if it couldn't help me keep my poor old computer limping along for a while longer. This arrived and I was really surprised at; a) how very quiet it is. It really isn't making very much noise at all, certainly not enough to be distracting or annoying. And I'm the kind of person that hates to have a fan going in the room for that reason. And also surprised at; b) how effective it is in cooling my computer. Seriously, my computer just doesn't get too hot when I use it with these fans. I can tell it is still trying to overheat, if I turn the fans off for a little while it heats right up. With the fans on, though, no problems. We'll see how long the device lasts--I'm only on day 2. If I find any problems with it I'll come back and edit my review. But so far it's really helping a lot. UPDATE: Well, here we are 4 1/2 months later, and I've downgraded my review from 5 stars to 3. The flimsy aspect of the product's construction is causing problems. First, as others have mentioned, the little flip-up piece that is meant to keep your laptop from sliding off when it's at an angle broke early on. That piece is poorly designed and will inevitably break. Thankfully mine is still useable, if I'm careful. Then I noticed that the usb ports were no longer making good connections, so the fans aren't getting power half the time. I can jiggle the cable and get it to work for a while, but when I move or jostle the thing the connection is broken. I haven't figured out if it's the ports or the cable that is the problem, I suspect the ports but I'm not sure. I'd say if you can afford a sturdier laptop cooler then don't buy this one. Or buy it, but be aware that it is not going to last a real long time if you use your laptop a lot.

I was not expecting a fan/support made so well. Previously, I have had two Targus and one other off brand cooling fan. All my fans cost in excess of $40.00 making this fan a cost saving purchase. My Targus crapped out and my laptop actually shut down several times do to an overheated processor. My PC is running i5 and several years old with an SSD. It gets super warm when playing videos or if several applications are opened. My biggest complaint with the Targus was the poor performance. Both models had two fans but the position was not ideal for my Fujitsu laptop. The fans failed to move a lot of air when compared to this new fan. In fact, it is like night and day. I can actually feel the air coming out the sides of the laptop. I also use a monitor that records temp, it's free software HW monitor or something like that. My laptop's temps have been 10 to 25 degrees lower. WOW, all I can say is that had i have not seen it with my own eyes, I would never have believed the numbers. Now that my computer is running cool, it is working a whole lot better. I noticed a huge performance degradation when the laptop was hot. It would actually be hot when touching the keys. I should mention that by the air slot on my computer, I have a vacuum fan that sucks air through. Thus, I have cool air entering through the bottom and pulled out through the CPU cooling slot on the side near the AC adaptor's plug. This combination works excellent with the new cooling pad and just did not work well with the Targus cooling pads. I am very pleased and a happy customer. I have only had this for a week so I cannot comment on its reliability, but my computer is on day and night and so is this fan which is set to maximum. I should also mention that there is little to no noise. The side vacuum fan can be loud, but it is difficult to know the fans were on without seeing the blue LEDs. I don't review products for a living and I was not paid to write this nor was I given this product. I am like every buyer out there. I look at all the different models and purchase one that I hope works well. In this case, o am quite happy with my purchase and highly recommend this cooling fan

This is my second fan pad I have purchased. I previously had a different brand and did not feel it was doing its job. The internal fans on my gaming laptop can be pretty loud when they kick on and it makes me insane. So I rely on the pad to give me a less obnoxious experience. This pad is perfect for it. The fan sound is very low and not irritating at all. The fans are also incredibly powerful and my laptop stays cool without kicking on the internal fans on my laptop itself. I can set this one at a higher fan setting, which I am sure in the summer months Ill need so great flexibility there. I also like the buttons are all on the front so you can adjust it/turn off on/ect from the front. This also has an extra USB port so you dont lose access to a port when plugging this into the laptop. You can use the extra fan port to charge a device or whatever. Super convenient. Very happy with my purchase. Would buy again. Price is also reasonable. My other stand which was trash was only $10 less expensive. Glad I made the upgrade.

Everything was as described and worked superbly! Fantastic design. Came with the usb to usb end wire which is greatttt. Also gave constant cool air flow! It's perfect for gaming on a laptop as well , I went on for hrs and the temperature was normal at most which just shows how good this is .... obviously results vary from one laptop to another but I'd recommend this blindly.
