Nice unit, Easy to install yourself if you follow the book
This is a nice unit. I read hundreds of reviews before making my choice to replace a Mach 3 13.5K- BTU unit on my camper, comparing technical specs and even performed servicing the Mach 3 before I decided to make the swap. I got to look under the cover for both and compare components. The inside components between the two units have nearly the exact same design layout, components, blower/fan, etc. but the Mach 15 is a little bit smaller package and a 2 piece shroud. I had trouble sliding the old Mach 13 shroud off for troubleshooting without dragging cover across evaporator fins but Mach 15 2 pc shroud is much easier. But it will flex a little so don't lift unit with it. The unit is easy to unload and lift to the roof, but the two piece shroud is not for lifting and sill crack if not careful. This went on a pop up camper, but If I had to hoist to a higher roof installation I would consider leave it in the box/pallet and unpackage it then. The pallet this unit cam on was only 15 lb wood and wrapped in cardboard but truck carrier delivered in perfect shape. It comes with the gasket installed and crush indicators so you cant screw it up. Follow the installation instructions in the book and save yourself hundreds from a dealer install. If you have the skills to assemble a grill you can swap units out. Follow the book. The inside unit is a perfect match for the 14x14 opening and easy to complete installation, I completed the job in under 2 hours. The duct installation trimming and taping took the longest just to make sure it was tight so no air leaks from unit. Remember the air comes straight down into the roof unit and makes a 90 degree turn to vents, so this vinyl duct will puff up like a balloon and any leaks will recirculate back into the inlet side. I'm not sure this unit is that much quieter than a Mach 13,5 BTU because its probably using the same blower with a more efficient compressor and evaporator but it does run smooth with no rattles and provide plenty of cold air. Is it worth the price difference of $100 for an upgrade? yes probably for us and should never need to worry about keeping cool even in middle of hot summer camping in Florida. If we get 6 years out of it, for $100/year its a reasonable tradeoff. Good luck with your choice. installation is easy. Nice unit.

Upper Unit only - No install hardware included (plan accordingly as I did)
Product was purchased for a NEW install in my old camper. Seller contacted to verify that "this is the upper unit only," and asked "do you need to purchase the lower control panel also?" I was aware that they were sold separately and had purchase both parts (but ended up from different vendors on Amazon). NOTE: ALL HARDWARE IS ONLY INCLUDED WITH THE SEPARATELY PURCHASED LOWER CONTROL PANEL. That means all Coleman screws, mounting frame etc are not supplied with this Upper Unit. This air conditioner included the install manual and the foam seal (attached to the unit). You do not need to purchase the Amazon suggested "foam seal" as it is included. The instructions to install the Lower Control Panel are included in the install manual for the Upper Unit. There are no instructions included with the Lower Control Panel package. Instructions to install this unit are also available online at manufacturer's website. Unit arrived on a 24' semi trailer with Tommy lift but the driver and I lifted the palletted package off the truck easily. The packaging and the product arrived in good shape with no cracks or dents. Installation went as expected into a 14" x 14" roof vent that existed on my camper. Due to my camper being a 15 yr old Ultra Lite, and in marginal condition, I added a steel U support beam in front and behind the mounting position to add support. My camper was prewired for 20amp service for an AC unit so connecting the wiring was not difficult. The unit fired up as expected and cooled adequately. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Dont use my review as a guide for install, my camper is... special.

Arrived in good shape and works great!
Purchased a used RV and found that the AC would only drop the input air temperature by 4-5 degrees. Watched many videos and read a lot on how to troubleshoot. The filter was clean, evaporator and condensor were clean, control module electrical functions were good, the compressor and fan were running but the evaporator was barely cool to the touch and it just wasn't cooling like it should. My conclusion was that either it had slowly leaked out refrigerant or the compressor is going out. Since you can't easily/affordably replace the compressor or charge the refrigerant I decided to order a new unit. It arrived quicker than expected via freight delivery and was securely fastened to a pallet. The unit works great after installation and cools the input air down 15-20 degrees. Surprised at how easy it was to replace: 1. Remove 4 mounting bolts from inside RV 2. Dismount control module in air intake 3. Remove freeze sensor from evaporator (white wires from control module to piece stuck in fins on air intake side) 4. Disconnect the one square electrical connector that is part of the new unit 5. Reverse to install The hardest part is getting the new unit on top of the RV and the old one off. My son and I were able to muscle it up on top but at least one more person would have really helped. Be careful when moving the units around on top and not drag them on the liner. Unfortunately I cut my liner and had to order repair tape to fix it. When moving use two people if possible to lift it instead of 'scooting' it around. Overall a good experience and would definitely purchase from this seller again!

Very Unhappy!
We purchased our unit in June 2025. We are very dissatisfied and definitely would NOT purchase again. It is supposed to be a quiet unit, specs say 28 decibels. It is far louder than that and it makes it difficult to have a conversation or watch tv. It is so loud it gives me a headache and I have to go to another room. It does cool well but frequently freezes up. Information with the unit said it could freeze up if operated in temperatures below 75ยฐ. Our low temperatures for the past few months have not been below mid to upper 80โs and it still freezes up almost daily. This unit has simply not delivered on advertised promises. Given the high price tag, we seriously regret our purchase and we simply have no choice but to try to find a replacement that will.

Perfect replacement unit
After 12 years of use from our original unit that was on our Keystone Cougar RBS21 camper the unit finally quit cooling. I purchased this Coleman 48204C866 Mach 15 from Amazon. The unit arrived via FedEx without any damage in 3 days. The very next day I rented two sets of scaffolds to get to the top of the camper. The rooftop of my camper is 10ft high off the ground. I then unbolted the 4 bolts from the inside of the camper, then removed the cover on the outside. I removed the electrical enclosure the held all the wires for the electric power and thermosat wires. I left it just hanging in the ceiling as I removed the old unit onto the upper scaffold and then to the lower scaffold and in to my truck. Then reverse the process with the new unit. (from the my truck, to the lower scaffold, to the upper scaffold, then on the camper rooftop. I removed the cover off the new unit mounted the original electrical enclosure with all the wires, plugged the new electrical core into it, and remounted it. Then went inside the camper to alined the 4 bolts that hold the unit down. (Note before tighten these a/c mounting bolts alined the screw holes of the inside vent cover to there original screw holes.) I then mounted the inside ceiling vent grill and turn my a/c breaker back on. I then turned on my thermosat and the new unit turn on and is working perfectly. This new unit was the perfect fit for my camper. Jerry D. Houma, Louisiana

This single AC keeps my 33' A Class RV FRIGID cold in the south Florida summer.
My friend helped me install this as it weighs 80+ pounds (keep the unit in the shipping boxes to safely haul it to the top of your rig without damaging it--rig or AC); there are plenty of videos on You Tube demonstrating how to do this effortlessly and safely. Aside from that, this installation was ridiculously easy. We merely pulled the old unit straight up and discarded. The new unit fit the existing hole perfectly (the old unit was a Mach 3 15K). The hard foam(?) seal pre-installed around the portion of the unit that sits over the Ceiling Assembly, made a watertight seal without any tape, caulk, etc. The process of screwing the Ceiling Assembly (sold separately) and outside unit together creates the seal. We just came out of several weeks of nearly continuous, driving rain from tropical systems off the coast, and not a drop of moisture came into the RV through the AC unit. Although I do a great deal of wiring in my profession (not a licensed electrician), the wiring for this unit was very simple: hot to hot, neutral to neutral and ground to ground. All other electrical connections were plug and play. I also purchased the optional heater (I reviewed that as well); installation involved a single plug and a single screw--again, simple. This unit is CIA-spy-drone quiet compared to the Mach 3 13.5 K unit on the rear of my rig. In fact, I thought the compressor was not kicking in until a nearly frost-bitten hand placed in front of the blower motor proved otherwise. I test-ran the unit on high for the rest of the day (90+ temperatures on the pad). Later that afternoon, my wife and I decided to see how the AC was performing. She would not even enter the rig it was so cold! The only downside is that this unit is several inches higher than the old unit--a worthy tradeoff in my humble opinion.

Control Box Not Included
This unit did NOT come with control box so I had to transfer the old control unit to the new a/c.
