A drill that actually does what it's supposed to do!
I'm a frugal shopper, which means that if I can find a used item at a yard sale for less, I would rather do that. Well, after four drills that couldn't drill through galvanized steel, I realized I had to get serious.I bought this drill based on the reviews, and to be honest, I was a little worried at first. I thought the drill would be too big and I wouldn't be able to handle it with one hand (120 lb female here). But I needed something that could handle the job, so I went for it.Boy am I ever happy.First, the box size surprised me. I expected something gigantic, but it's not.Second, the weight surprised me, I can and do use this drill one handed.Third, the quality really impressed me. I immediately put it to the test, and started drilling holes in galvanized steel. No problems there. The drill holds up, does it's job, and my project is just about done.It does have a chuck key, but I actually prefer that. Some of the work I have put the drill through is tough, and I feel much more comfortable knowing that I have the option to use the chuck key to make sure that I don't have to re-tighten halfway through the job.The handle is convenient, and you don't have to put it on. And it's reversible if you're left handed. I have used the handle a few times, but mostly I don't.The fact that it's corded allows me to have the drill do harder jobs with out worry that juice will run out. I just get an extra long extension cord, and I don't have to worry about recharging batteries.About my only complaint is that there is not a speed control setting, but really, I can just control how far I depress the button, and that seems to do the trick.I am extremely satisfied with this drill, and it's capabilities. It's a good little powerful tool.

Lot of power. light. durable. for the profi. no lo speed
Con: The minimum speed on the drill is about 400 rpm, not zero. This was pointed out by another reviewer. He found out it is a design issue. So, This is a 400-1200 rpm VSR. So it is NOT good for steel, or finely finished drill holes.Pro: Pretty much all of the reviewers here are correct. This is a LOT of drill. Huge torque -- use both hands. Keeps going and going and will shut itself off if you overpush it. Very tough. very reliable. But it is surprisingly light, about 4.9 lbs. I drilled hundreds of 3/4" spade bit holes in studs for running 10 ga romex. The drill barely got warm (the spade bit got glowing hot and had to resharpen 3 times, LOLs). I have a big stucco project coming up, and I have a funny feeling this will make a perfect mud mixer.Edit 3.17: We have using this drill almost daily for mixing and massive multiple hole drilling for 4 months. We also like to use it for wire brushing or sanding. the overload circuit on this is a lifesaver. we run this drill for hours on end and until it shuts itself off for 10 mins. then presto, it starts right back up without a hitch. the price on the 210 has increased unfortunately, but it is worth it, bumping our review up to 5 stars.Edit 3.23: We are buying 5 more of the 210's. it turns out you can buy them used very cheaply, not necessarily on Amazon though (hint hint nudge nudge).

The Best Drill I've Owned
This drill is so heavy. I am a senior citizen with small wrists, but that is the only complain I have about this product. This drill is very powerful. When my cordless drill cannot do the job, this can do it. The front handle bar helps to keep it steady. This is a corded tool which is getting harder and harder to find. The manufacturers found another cottage industry to bilk us out of more money by selling cordless tools with very expensive batteries you have to keep replacing. This drill will outlast me. Most of the tools they make these days are disposable at best. This is a lifer.

Plenty of power; takes some pracitise.
Let me start by saying I'm not a contractor, but i do some woodwork. I bought this drill to replace an 8 year old battery powered (NiCd) drill, since it started lacking the torque i needed for certain projects, and would run out of juice way too quick. This DeWalt is in all likelihood is more drill than I'll ever need, but i bought it for that reason, because i know i won't be short on torque for anything. With that being said, this drill has truly impressive power. That isn't to say it's dangerous or unwieldy, just use common sense like with any tool and you'll be fine. There is only one caveat. Where this drill is most certainly a VSR drill, the control one may expect at low speed is somewhat lacking. For example, say I'm holding the drill in the air, not trying to drill or screw anything, and I slowly pull on the trigger. During the first ~1/8" of the pull, the drill does not turn on (which is actually a good thing). Just beyond that point, it will start spinning with a bit of a jerk, ending up about 20-25% speed. Further pulling of the trigger results in a smooth transition to greater speed, like what is to be expected, and like other drills, releasing the trigger results in the drill 'coasting' down to no spin. When first discovered, I wasn't sure if the drill would work for me, since i intended on it to be used for driving screws as well as drilling, and low end control is important for starting a screw. After spending some time with it, i found it surprisingly manageable if you apply medium pressure, lightly tap the trigger, and let the 'coasting' do some of the work. Particularly if using a pilot hole, this results in much more control than one would anticipate otherwise. However, I took a star away for the fact that I needed to change my habits in order to effectively use the drill. It is otherwise a very good drill. The grip is comfortable, the forward grip has positive locking groves so it doesn't travel on you, and the trigger is smooth and consistent throughout the range. One thing I will add is that most of the weight is toward the front of the drill, so you'll definitely need to use the extra handle when using it horizontally.Despite the low end speed issue, I have been very happy with the drill, and would definitely recommend it.

If you want power, this has it.
Sometimes a cordless drill, no matter how powerful, just won't get the job done. Hence the corded drill, which will always have its place in the shop. If you want the most powerful corded drill short of a hammer or rotary hammer drill--something like the excellent Bosch Bulldog--this is it. Drilling hundreds of wafer head, winged screws from 1 7/16 to 2 3/4 inch into my steel garage frame wore out the batteries in three cordless drills. I turned to this beast and, at generally low rpms and max torque, the screws go in fairly easily (usually). But be careful: this drill can break your wrist or tear your shoulder. It's a serious drill for serious work, so take it seriously. The adjustable side handle is essential and excellent. Is it only one speed? Not really. Some of the reviewers don't know how to finesse a tool. A soft touch produces a soft screw entry. It just takes some practice, for the trigger is very sensitive. The only problem? The drill comes with no case, which is ridiculous. A hard plastic case should be provided; if not that, at least provide a soft bag, something to protect the drill from the elements. Next up for me: the mid-handle DeWalt DWD115--great feel, great power, great price. Call it the little brother to the 210.

ABSOLUTELY A GREAT DRILL
I absolutely love this drill !!!!!! Do not get me wrong it is good size but it starts from 0 rpm to 1200 rpm depending on how far you pull the trigger. I'm on my second day of drilling with it so about 10 hours of usage and I love it. I'm glad that I bought it no regrets. Even if I only use it a few times. This thing has enough power to break your wrist!I have been drilling stainless steel 1" thick and the drill had no problem. The ability to maintain a slow speed was key in drilling stainless steal. I did read the review that said that the drill started at half speed. This however was not the case with my drill, maybe they corrected this problem?I look forward to using the drill again although maybe not on 1" stainless steel as it is very hard substance to go through requiring a lot of pressure. At this time I can find no fault with this Dewalt.

Works for me
Excellent drill. Served me well for the past 4+ years. Wish there was a break so I didn't over drill some screws, but there are tools for that. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a corded drill.

Not U.K. compatible
I am sure this is a fabulous item but as I live in the U.K.,be warned as it isnโt fitted with a 13 amp plug,so I think it is rated at 110 volts and not 240.It also doesnโt mention this anywhere in the description
