The Original TummyTub is a unique womb-shaped and sized bath that eases baby's transition from a familiar, safe place to an unknown world. Enormously popular in Europe, this alternative to the standard baby bath makes bath time stress-free for babies and parents alike! The TummyTub can be used from the birth up to 3 years. The benefits are acknowledged in maternity hospitals and homes throughout Europe, and endorsed by physicians, midwives and nursery nurses. Babies naturally adopt the fetal position and it is amazing to see how quickly they calm and relax. The TummyTub is also the perfect green tub for babies because it requires less water, energy, and space and is completely BPA and toxin free, while being fully recyclable!

Biggest joke on the internet
This is a $50 bucket folks. Joke's on me. It's a plastic bucket. Functionality is what you'd expect from a plastic bucket.

Brilliant and Beloved in our Household
Some babies like it, and admittedly, some babies don't. I have used a Tummy Tub with 2 of my 5 children, and I wish I would have had it for all 5 of them. The traditional, long, horizontal tubs have ALWAYS scared me. Once a baby is in one of those things, what you have on your hands is pretty much a flopping fish who doesn't realize it's skating the edge of committing suicide. As a parent, the TummyTub actually made bath time feel SAFER and MORE MANAGEABLE than those horizontal drowning pans. Of course, you can't ever leave baby unattended in either kind of tub. But the situation is sure a lot less scary with the TummyTub. It's womblike. The child is guaranteed to be upright. The fact that it's see-through is also comforting and adds a sense of control since, obviously, you can instantly see everything that's going on and any problem that may be developing. When it comes to a soapy baby, that's where TummyTub won me over. Think about it: fish in a bucket versus fish in a wide pan. There are less ways for your little fishie to flip over or flip out of the bathing area in the rounded-bottom bucket that's the Tummy Tub.We thought we were done having babies, and so when my friend lost a lot of things in a flood, I gave her our TummyTub. When we later found out we were pregnant again, I bought another TummyTub. That tells you right there how much I like this product. This time, I'm keeping the thing. This future grandma will be all ready when those grandbabies arrive someday... so bring on the spaghetti dinners and let the fun begin!

It is easy to put her in there
I use it daily since baby was 7 weeks old. It is easy to put her in there, even if only to wash off her bottom. Since baby started to hold her own head up, she loves it. Now at 3 months, she is starting to splash her hands in the water. 6 months update:Elena got diaper rash when we started on solids and this tub makes it easy to wash off her bottom at each diaper change. I fill tub 1/3 with warm water, drop 3 tablespoons of org apple cider vinegar and stand her up and rinse of only her bottom. Very versatile.

so kiddo stays nice and warm for entire bath -Can last from babyhood ...
Pros:-Keeps water warm longer than normal bath, so kiddo stays nice and warm for entire bath-Can last from babyhood into toddlerhood (potentially longer)-Totally suitable/comfortable/fun for small toddler-Serves as a toy when not in use as a bath-Uses very little water, so it only takes about 15 seconds to "ready" a bath (fast bath prep is a perk I don't even realize was a thing until I used this the first time...and I've grown to appreciate this perk more and more the more I use the tub...it's so quick and easy to bath my daughter in this thing - also, this is probably good for water conservation or some such)-It's a little taller but not as wide or long as most baby baths, so it is easier for me to store when not in use-Can be used for almost anything a bucket is used for (I plan to use it for more toy storage when the girls outgrow it)-Slightly curved at bottom, so it's comfy for kiddo to settle into-SO easy to clean - has none of the little nooks or crannies most baby tubs seem to have for some unfathomable reason-Less bath toy mess! Kiddo doesn't seem to mind that we don't use more than a couple of toys in this one, since there's just no space for lots of toys - score for less clutter and post bath clean up!-Easier to tote around than the big baby tubs (it's basically a bucket with a lip all the way around for easy gripping)-Soothing to infants (I'm sure this won't work for every baby, but it stopped the sob-a-thon bathing dramas we were having with our infant daughter...she might whimper a second when we first put her in, but once she realizes she is mostly submerged in the cozy water, she relaxes and tolerates, or, sometimes, *gasp* even seems to enjoy her bath)Cons:-Kind of tricky to bath a newborn in (though most bathing devices share this issue until baby can hold head up unsupported)-Can potentially tip over when bathing active/standy/squirmy large baby or toddler, so just keep it supported to be on the safe side-Pricey...but worth it!!Additional Info:I LOVE this tub so much, and it's getting the most use from an unexpected source - my toddler. I bought this for my infant daughter after one too many tear filled baths. I find it tricky to wash her in, because she is still in her floppy head/neck stage. We still wash her in it, but it takes some getting used to and still makes me a little nervous. It keeps her from having her non-stop sob-a-thons during bathtime though, so we are making it work.I did not anticipate my 2 year old's love affair with it. She was fascinated as soon as I opened it. I did not expect it would realistically work for a toddler (they advertise it will, but I was like "psh, yea right"), but I let her try it out anyway. She sat right down and settled into it for a good 20 minutes - just soaking and relaxing, enjoying it like a tiny adult. You would have thought she needed some candles and wine. She insists on bathing in this thing every time she sees it now, though she usually wants to a toy or bubbles in it. She seems to love the smaller space of it. Like it's just her size. She calls it her "little bath". She also enjoys playing with it in a whole host of ways when it's not in use as a bath. The tub can tip over if your kiddo is moving around a bunch in it. Meaning, you should support it at all times to err on the side of safety. I recommend positioning it between your legs (I think it recommends this position in the instructions, but can't recall for sure). This way it's firmly supported, and our hands are free. It's pricey (and honestly probably more of a luxury than a necessity), but it's one of the few baby items I feel like I've fully gotten my money's worth and then some. So glad I took a chance and bought this "overpriced bucket". I fully expect we will be using this for years to come.
