Great Watch
Great watch, attractive, accurate +2 seconds per month, easy to see analog time at night with backlight, lots of digital functions, okay to shower with, comfortable to wear, light weight, not pretentious. The long life, 10-year battery is a plus; replacement batteries are inexpensive. I store phone numbers in the data bank, for the day my cellphone is lost. Like the perpetual calendar no need to reset the date on the first day of the month. World time, countdown timer, alarm and stopwatch functions are nice to have. Analog hands are good for checking the time at a glance. The digital display is big enough to read easily, like that it displays day, month and date simultaneously. All this for less than dinner. Acrylic crystal will scratch but Poly Watch removes scratches easily. I purchased six inexpensive Casio watches this year and this is the most unique and my favorite. I have owned Casio watches since the 1980s. I like that Casio is innovative and not constrained by the watch designs of the past.

Make Sure You Get the Black Watch-Face--the silver one can't be seen at night.
I bought my first version of this beauty 3 years ago, and it has been quite good. However, there were two problems that ate away at me slowly over that time. First, was that it was a little too small. I am a fat man, and even with all of the links in, I still had to extend it a little by attaching another older watchband clasp over top of this one's to get a few more millimeters out of it. I had looked around for just an extra link to buy, but that is not available anywhere that I could find. The second problem was that my original model had the silver watch face, and it was very difficult to see the hands in the dark despite both the glow-in-the-dark hands and using the light button. It could be done, but it was a real pain in the you know what. I finally committed myself to biting the bullet and getting a whole new watch to solve the band size problem, figuring I would just buy a new one and add one of my old links to it. While I was shopping around, I came across this beauty with the black watch face and I thought to myself, "perhaps the difficulty in seeing the time in the dark was due to the hands and the watch face both being the same color, but a black background might make it actually easier to see." For 18 bucks, I figured, what have I got to lose? So I ordered it off Amazon and sure enough, all my problems were solved. This is a Great Watch with tons of cool and useful features. And the price is great (I paid $30 for my first one at Kohl's). If they keep making it, I will never buy anything else!

Analog and digital on same watch!
Having analog and digital on same watch is great! It’s easy to read both. I’m glad it has alarm and light. I like the shiny silver band.

I feel it is superior to similar casual Casios in the $20-$40 price range.
So I looked at watches for a year buying this one on Amazon. I had like three or four different wishlists goin, trying to narrow down my choices. I chose Casio because I have found their watches to be very durable, super long-lasting, and very reasonably priced. I also wanted something that looked somewhat dressy, so I finally settled on an analog face with steel band. I also like seeing the exact date on my watches, so I decided on the Ana/Digi configuration. I was considering others that display the date as a one digit number because they looked to be more attractive than this one online. However, upon realizing that I should really shop for a watch in person rather than online, I came upon all the models I was considering at Wal-Mart. The Casios that were priced at $30-$50 (the ones that looked nicer online) looked awful in person! They were really shiny, flimsy, and looked cheap, fake. Also, I don't like the one rolling digit date display on those because you have to keep on top of whether it is synchronized with the accurate number of days in the current month and make adjustments accordingly. To my absolute surprise, this model Casio looked very good in person! Amazon pics and reviews led me to believe that they looked like plastic and easily scratched. I have not found either of these to be true. It actually looks more expensive and impressive than the more expensive casios and there is a 10 year warranty on the battery. I'm gonna still have this $19 watch when I'm 50!? LOL I would have preferred the model with the blue face, but the majority of reviews said it looked more purple, and I mean - God forbid.. The face is a little larger than I would like it to be, but I have very small wrists, so most faces appear relatively large. Naturally, because of my small wrists, I had to have the stainless steel band adjusted. I learned that Wal-Mart actually offers to provide this service free of charge even if the watch is purchased elsewhere! I'm definitely not trying to advocate for Wal-Mart here, as they are an evil source of great power and wealth, but unfortunately I every penny counts on my budget. When I put the watch on, it fit perfectly. It had good weight, felt smooth, and wasn't pinching my arm hair, as most stainless steel links tend to do. I have no problem seeing the time in total darkness thanks to the glow in the dark hands in conjunction with the somewhat dim orange light. However, I cannot see the date in the dark. Oh well. I think I can wait to get into a lighted situation in order to know the date, and I usually know the date, if I care, by the time it gets dark each day, so I'll be ok. Many rwviews complain about the weak light. It's not too bad! Also, one must realize that in order to guarantee the preservation of battery power for a whole friggin' decade, one must make such small compromises. Although I do get it. I get addicted to those nice bright Indiglo-style watch lights and want to press it all the time! My guess is that those lights draw a good amount of power, because any watch I've owned with that loses the light power or all power in a relatively short amount of time compared to those without the glowing face feature. I imagine the LED technology that's coming out now might be able to remedy this problem. Anyway, it's a great daily watch. It's perfectly casual, comfortable, functional, and somewhat simple. I only set up the date display, the digital time (which toggles with the date display), and the analog time by adjusting the hands. There are many other features I will likely never use. There is a stopwatch, a timer, world time, daylight savings, and a bank where names and phone numbers can be stored. This is an old model. Most of us don't ever remember phone numbers anymore because we have our cell phones, and let's be honest, who wants to fiddle around with entering someone's name in their watch after just meeting them? Can you imagine? But I like that about Casio. If it aint broke, they don't change it! That's why we know we can count on the quality and durability of their products.

Excellent value, nice features for an inexpensive watch.
This is the third Casio watch of this type that I have purchased over the years. Each has been the same basic watch with different cases and faces and each has lasted me about 6-7 years. I especially like this one as it has the features I really like but the black face makes it much easier to see the time in the dark when using the internal light. The white hands against the black background make a nice contrast versus my previous watch with silver hands against a white background. I am an adherent of the analog method of telling time but appreciate that I can use the digital readout to check time in another time zone as well as keep track of the date. And I much prefer the style of the round case of this watch vs. the semi-rectangular version of the same version that I had prior to this one. To be honest I don't really use any of the other features so can't make an educated analysis of them. If the features I've already mentioned were all this watch had to offer I'd still buy it over and over again, Thanks Casio for keeping it in production so long. The only somewhat negative point I have to say about it is resetting the analog part of the watch (the hands) is NOT terribly intuitive and I find myself having to consult the manual EVERY TIME we go into or out of Daylight Savings Time. This is more of a minor inconvenience than anything else as the instructions to do so are easy to follow, I say again, as long as they keep producing this watch I will keep buying them when I need to.

Great watch but there's a catch-22
Well, I've actually had possession of the watch for a little over two hours now. That's how long it took me to get the basic settings (time, day and date), both analog and digital, set up. It might have taken another two hours had I not thought of a brilliant solution to the primary problem. Ha! The primary problem is that the little manual which comes with it requires a microscope to read. It's a fat little book (which has been bent in half to make it even more difficult, almost impossible, to handle) Size-wise it will easily fit into the watch pocket of your Levis. Plus, the watch IS complicated, or at least it seems so when you first get it. The solution is this: [...] That's the online manual for the Casio Module 2747. Thank God I thought of searching for it online! Once I had that up on the screen with the watch in my hands it became quite simple! So I struggled for a couple hours first, had three beers, then thought of and found the online manual, and within 5 minutes had this little sucker set up. I saved the manual to my pooter for learning how to do the many other things this little jewel does. (I'm sure that somewhere inside there's a setting for managing your 401K, ordering a pizza, whatever.) But, yeppers, I'm giving this watch a five star rating already. The only thing it has to do at this point is go the distance, and I suspect it will -- ten years. After all, it's a Casio! It's extremely good looking, easy to read and fits perfectly. It's built like a Sherman tank and I'm sure it'll "take a beating and keep on ticking!" It's an outright steal for this price. In my humble opinion it would be a good deal at $50!

Great as watch, but NOT A TEN YEAR BATTERY
Basically I love this watch, as a watch. I don't use its other features. It's easy to read in daylight (white hands on black face), and once you figure it out, it's easy to set the time, both digital and even analog (though that does have a bit of a learning curve). HOWEVER, it has two main failures: 1) the 10 YEAR BATTERY LASTS ONLY ABOUT TWO YEARS. Since 2014, I have had to purchase seven of these watches, because they fail after one-to-three years (my most recent one failed in less than 15 months). The digital display goes blank, and the hands stop moving. From reading many of the reviews, I know that this is about the expected lifetime for the battery and that replacing the battery is not a reasonable option. My old roommate had an expression that applies in this case, "Fix by replacement." 2) Adjusting the size of the band to fit your wrist is so miserable that Casio doesn't even include instructions for doing this with the watch. Find a video on the Internet. Even that is tricky, because Casio has several different styles of watch bands, and you have to find one that shows you how to remove the pins that hold the links together. Further, you have to figure out what tools to use to accomplish this (a jeweler's screwdriver to start the process and a small bent needle nose plier to pull the pin out the rest of the way are what I use). But if these were deal breakers, why would I now be using my seventh one?

So far, so great!
I've been wearing this watch for several weeks now and I'm extremely happy with it. In truth, I bought it only because my regular Casio watch needs repairing and I didn't want to be without a watch meanwhile. That said, now I've started wearing it, and gotten used to it, I'm not in any particular hurry to get the other watch fixed. So, what's so good about it? Well, it's dirt cheap, of course, it has loads of functions and it isn't unattractive either. Sure, you'll definitely need to refer to the manual (ideally the downloadable PDF version) to figure out how to operate it or, at least, to get the most out of it, so if you find that bothersome maybe you should stick with something simpler that tells you the time and not much else. The links in the stainless steel bracelet are not the easiest to remove, but fortunately there are plenty of videos on YouTube that will show you how it can be done using nothing more complex than a wire nail and a pair of pliers. On the other hand, because of the flat, spade-shaped pins used, they're likely to be much more stable over time and not simply fall apart like those links that are held together with needle-shaped pins. Two things I've found especially useful are the memo/phone number storage (invaluable if you don't have your phone with you) and the illumination button that displays the watch face rather than the LCD window. Obviously, the ideal situation would be to illuminate both, but as I'm not always wearing my glasses when I want to check the time in the dark, this arrangement works better for me than watches where only the LCD window is illuminated. That's because, without wearing glasses, even when they're lit up I can't read those small LCD figures anyway! The bottom line is, at this price, and with a 'ten year' battery thrown in, you can't really go wrong. Certainly, everyone to whom I've shown it thus far has been impressed with its value for money.

Bello
Consigliato.

Gran calidad, buen precio.
