This does work
I've bought hundreds of things on amazon, this is my third review. I'm very picky. I was skeptical... $136 for what looks like a shallow crock pot. However, when I compared the price to other roasters, it was worth a shot. If it works, it's a good deal. I open the box, the instructions are in poor english and it's clearly not heavy duty. Still, I figured let's give it a try. I have to admit, despite my reservations, this thing roasts beans perfectly. I've done 3 batches now and it's consistent and easy. There is no timer so you have to watch it. It's also hard to hear the cracking stages... so watching it is a must for that too. All in all, it's excellent at what it's designed to do. How long it will last, I don't know. Right now, I'm extremely satisfied.

Does the job, can be messy.
Bought this one to replace the previous worn out roaster I had. It does a far better job than my previous one in giving an even roast. The controls are straight forward and all that is really required is to set a timer to key you to check for roast level. I turn the rheostat to 0 to allow the beans to cool down with the circulator still running. When It's cool, then I turn off the power and disconnect. Cooling down is far better than attempting to remove the hot beans. You don't want to inadvertently touch the hot plate. The single most annoying thing is the clean up and chaff on the beans. Since the beans are only stirred during roasting the chaff clings to them and, since I don't like that, I have to shake them in a colander to get some of the chaff off. Also, when you remove the top the chaff can spread a bit on your table. I roast my beans in a screened in sun room so to keep the chaff and the smoke out of the kitchen.

Ok for the money.
This roaster is more like a 600-650 gram roaster. When I put in 650-750 grams of green beans, it jams up and the spinner won't keep rotating. With < = 650g and this is a nice roaster. After 2 months and about 50 lbs. of coffee roasted, this roaster is still working. It has to be watched as the rotating arm still sticks occasionally. But for the money, it is a nice little roaster. We are building a larger open flame spit roaster now that will do < = 5 lbs. of green coffee beans at a time. This was and is a GOOD starting roaster.

Does not last
I purchased this unit after leaving my other one with a friend. This roaster only lasted 9 months, with making about 1-1.5 pounds a month of coffee roast. The stirring element stopped in a middle of a roast and will no longer work. Very disappointed for the price, the infrequent use and it only lasted 9 months. I had a cousin buy one of these as well and his stopped working in less than 6 months. As you can see by the reviews, this is not an uncommon experience.

Great cheap coffee roaster
This is an excellent coffee roaster machine. It is cheap comparable to other coffee roasters but It is absolutely good enough. One thing though, it doesnโt have a timer but thatโs a small issue if you want to save a couple of hundred dollars. Iโve been coffee roasting for the last 20 years and I started with the popcorn popper and then roasted with the IRoaster for about 15 years. After my iroaster broke down -I tried popcorn popper but they didnโt last long. So -if you are at coffee roaster and a cheapskate like me, I highly recommend it.

Great and Easy while it lasts.. But it doesnโt last long g
It does make nice, consistent coffee when itโs working. However, The heating elements stopped working after 6 months of use when using every week. I started to notice a subtle decline in heat before it just stopped heat. Not recommended for long term use.

This roaster is EXCELLENT!!
You'd think from some reviews that this wouldn't do the trick - but it's FANTASTIC. We bought two of them so we could roaster larger amounts at a time - very reliable - very adjustable. We've roasted light, medium and dark. Use a sieve to toss the grinds after roasting. What a joy to control the roast of your own coffee. Highly recommend this.

be prepared to make some adjustments
The first roast was pretty uneven. After adjusting the rotating arms on the bottom and the side, things even doubt. The next roast was much better, much more of an even roast. From the factory the rotating arms on the bottom are not set far enough down to move smaller coffee beans around. They then stay down on the bottom and get burned. By simply taking the center nut out and making some small adjustments to the arms so that they sweep the bottom correctly, the roast was much better. I also adjusted the arm on the side to make sure that it is touching the coffee as it comes by to keep the beans themselves rotating. Once those adjustments are made, this seems to work darn dwell. I roast an entire pound at a time, and it takes about 20 minutes to the second crack. Very happy with the results now that it's adjusted correctly.

Works well but takes getting used to
I have roasted about 7 batches of beans in this roaster so far, and I'm learning with each batch. The simplicity of this roaster is great, easy to load, easy to empty, easy to view the progress of the roasting. The instructions were not very good at all. It took some trial and error. Being my first time roasting coffee beans, the first couple of batches were under-done and undrinkable coffee. The time frames for the stages of roasting seem to be higher than that of drum roasters. I had to set the temperature up a few degrees more than it said to get to the first crack and then the second crack. Now that I think I have that figured out, it seems to work great.

roasting
I had to return it because it was roasting unevenly with many beans piled up and pushed around by the rotating arm, It did roast some coffee beans, so it would be ok if one doesnโt mind losing some unroasted beans. I spent more and bought the Fresh Roast electric roasted.
