APPS2Car Tablet Car Mount Holder for iPad Truck Holder Long Arm Extension

I saw a recommendation for this at the time when I had a folding phone and needed a holder with wide grip top and bottom, and that would not keep falling in sun. Since 2022 April, this holder lived in car in Texas, then moved to car in California and traveled through lots of heat, sometimes with broken AC. It never fell off in the heat. I can tell that it fallen off only once or twice, and that was after the windshield was freshly changed, not from heat. It works fantastically for any type of phones, does not press side buttons, and allow phone charging at the usage time. The holder that should glue to the car panel did not work for me, first due to the shape of panel, second car because the surface of panels were very porous and did not provide a good sticking surface. We still keep holder on arm at the approximately place where it should glue down to give some amortization. Even without arm glued down, it is pretty stable, and with a bit adjustment holds the phone in front of AC, which helps avoid overheating when charging and navigating on long trip in heat. I am not buying another only because the original holds so well. I would call this more a "permanent" holder, rather than something I would recommend to move from car to car when traveling.

This holder is much better than others I have used in the past. The gooseneck is very stiff, and can be difficult to bend. In my mind, that's actually a good thing. But what makes this better is: 1) It can hold a 6 inch cellphone or my 10 inch tablet. Many other holders won't open wide enough for that, topping out at 8 - 9 inches. 2) The top of the holder is spring-loaded. That means I don't have to adjust the holder whenever I add or remove a device. Easy in, easy out. 3) The opening on the bottom of the holder is large enough for my charging cable to fit through comfortably. It's also wide enough that I had no trouble with a phone whose charging port is located to one side rather than centered. 4) Unlike other mounts, I have not encountered any sagging. Other mounts required constant adjustment and tightening of the swivel mount. It's been two months now, and I live in an area with very bumpy roads. 5) I can mount this pretty mount anywhere on my dashboard. I'm not limited to an air vent, CD slot, or a cupholder. This allows me to place it the best location for use while driving. I have a Sony stereo, which means I can use Sony's app to control my stereo through my phone. I don't have radio controls on my steering wheel, and the radio is midway down the dash console with tiny buttons. With this gooseneck holder, I no longer have to take my eyes off the road when changing radio stations or MP3s. I also wanted something that could hold my tablet in case I added rearview or sideview cameras on my vehicle. My tablet would then become my heads up display. My phone might be good for one camera, but a 10 inch tablet could theoretically show multiple cameras at the same time. This holder is perfect for my tablet. You may notice that the holder "walks" across your dashboard. What I didn't know at first is that there is a lever above the suction cup. When the lever is open, it allows the gooseneck to swivel around the suction cup. Closing the lever will stop the "walking". Lastly, other reviews mentioned vibration while driving. I have **not** experienced this at all. If you do, then try adjusting the foot that rests on the dashboard to sit on the edge of your dashboard. The shorter the distance between that foot and the actual holder, the less pronounced any vibration will be.

This product is amazing!! The adjustability is very useful. Very strong and good quality! Very pleased with it! Definitely two thumbs up!

Used this in an old car to mount a tablet as a GPS. Worked perfectly for 2 and a half years. Sold the car, took the mount off. That's when the problems started. Years of being in the sun degraded the layer inside the suction cup and turned it into the most potent, gummy adhesive I've ever imagined. Impossible to clean up without strong isopropyl alcohol. The remaining bits on the suction cup were an absolute mess. Once that was cleaned up, only the suction cup remained. The remaining suction cup isn't really a suction cup. It doesn't hold onto anything. It's functionally worthless now. 5 stars on the first use. 1 star on the second use since it doesn't really work. The suction cup mechanism is attached to the arm so I can't even easily repurpose the arm, which is still strong and in perfect condition.

Very sturdy and easy to install it actually saves more space and I’m able to get the AC and air. I need through the front vents without any blockage. My height is 6’2 and it’s perfect to see right over. I have no problem with it even though I still have room to drop it down stick to the windshield with no problem. Great suction..

This is an 8 year review of the gen 1 model. I am extremely impressed with the durability of this product. The rubber around the aluminum arm has started to crack, but remains functional. The grip on the held device is substantial. The adhesive only lasts for about two applications, but the suction is strong enough to hold the weight of a phone as long as the supporting pad is used against the dashboard. I will be upgrading to a holder with wireless charging soon, but not because there is anything wrong with it.

Ok, so why the strange headline? Let me cover ALL the bases with you. Given that a (relatively heavy vs a cell phone) tablet will need to be suspended from glass via a tethered suction cup, the designers did well by putting a very soft suction cup that is also very tacky on this tablet mount. This mount holds very well to the glass and I'm not worried about it falling off. The downside to this particular suction cup, is that if you don't intend this to be a permanent mount on one vehicle, you really need to take care of the suction cup. The compound that this suction cup is made out of, or the compound added to it to make it tacky is a HUGE dust magnet. I am a yacht captain and I use this to mount my tablet to the vessel's windshield. We have multiple vessels in our fleet, so on a daily basis I am installing and removing this tablet mount, and transporting it home in a duffel bag. Despite best efforts, the suction cup attracts dirt and dust, and therefore would promptly fall off the windshield. My hack is to put the suction cup end of the tablet mount in a ziploc bag and it solved the problem completely. I gave this a 3 star rating for the sturdiness part. It may be a bit premature, but based on other comments and my own observation, I am concerned about long term effectiveness of the suction cup. When will it start to deteriorate and lose effectiveness? WIll it dry and crack, or just become slimy and slide off? So, I am unsure about total useful life. But, for what this item costs, I am not concerned. It comes with a warranty, and if i have suction cup issues before then, I'll file a claim, and if I have no results with a claim, it certainly is inexpensive enough to just buy another one outright. I consider it a disposable item at this price point, and If I get a year out of it before it fails, I'll consider the purchase an overall success. If you don't mount this permanently to one vehicle, (example, you travel for work and need to use this in a different rental car when you touchdown at an airport), remember my ziploc hack.

Love these car mounts, already bought 3 for different cars. It’s very sturdy, size is perfect to move up or down or forward.

Works well with my Ipad Mini 6 while driving on F Roads! As it is a rental car, I did not apply the 3M tape of the small U shape holder. Instead and I place a spare glove to prevent bouncing on uneven roads from the stem hitting my dashboard.

This has a relatively firm and stiff gooseneck arm, and does not rely on suction alone to support your phone or tablet. Suction holds the one end of the arm in place, but the arm is long, and rests a portion of it on your dash, meaning that when you put your phone or tablet in the other end, it pushes out against your windshield, instead of pulling on it. This isn't going to lose suction at an inconvenient or dangerous time, and dump your device. I definitely recommend it.

Great holder, you have to size it smaller than your tablet and then use the spring loaded side to keep tension.. I thought mine was bad cause I didnt watch the video/ fully get the manual. you can make it as tight as needed, no reason any tablet should go flying.
