Do Not Jump To Judgement
The first time I needed to use an Instant Cold Pack, it was not an easy experience in order to get to Cold. I would squeeze according to the directions with immense pressure equally distributed around the circumference of the Pack, ( as an aside, I was a combat medic in VN and have been strength training since I came home. Ergo, I will attest to the durability of the Instant Cold Pack ) to continue, it was No Joy for Cold , even after I massaged the granules into place. My second try was a lot more fruitful. Same pack, this was for the Church so I could not waste them. Same routine, but now, I really was aggressive with the movement of the granules and, after about a minute, The Eagle Had Landed ! Also, the pack stayed in tact, no tears or leaks, and the cold was really cold and remained usable to reduce pain and swelling. Now, I am not advocating for an eight hour cold pack treatment. The normal rules for cold pack therapy are in place, of course. We do not want to reduce pain and cause frost damage to the skin. By staying cold for so long, eight hours by my timing, a break from use can be taken without having to use another pack when therapy is recontinued. By staying cold for so long, one pack can treat more than one site. Three different sites was the best I could do using 10-15 minute treatment time per site. Now, I think that I have an answer to the people who found it a negative to have to manipulate the pack for so long before reaching an excellent level of cold; Please consider the following:1) The manipulation time will allow you to calm down and focus on something else besides the pounding in your head,2) also, it will give you a little time to talk to the Little One and calm his fear. After such a short time, one minute, you will be looked at as a magician.3) you have a little time to calmly eyeball the injured child and assess the damage and act accordingly. This is an excellent product that I was going to scrap because it did do what I wanted fast enough. The extra time certainly led to long term usability and that is the BIG plus.

Good deal for the price
My box of 24 arrived today. The bags were a little smaller than I expected but that's my fault for not reading the description where it shows the sizes. I opened the box and took one out. I squeezed and twisted and it started to feel a bit cold but I never heard anything pop. It was cold but not as cold as others I've used. Then I decided to read those with a one star rating. Most seemed to be the same complaint as mine. It didn't stay cold long enough and they felt it had already been popped. So, I took the one I was using and this time, I REALLY squeezed it and sure enough, I heard a pop and instantly, it got very cold.I applied it to my ankle and set the timer. It stayed cold for 13 minutes. That's really not so bad. When it got warm, it was all at once. The bottom line here is, it was my fault for not pressing hard enough to make the inner bag pop. I'll know better on the next one. From what I see now, I would buy these again.

You get what you pay for. These don’t work.
For a “house wife” this may be okay. For a first responder, if you’re happy with a product that works 1/3 of the time, steer clear. I knew I shouldn’t buy budget but I did anyway. I have to carry so many to make sure I have at least one that works. And, as you know, every extra item adds up in your pack. They also barely get cold. If I cared enough I would get out my thermometer. My gut tells me it gets down to 55F for the first few moments then quickly jumps into the 60s. And that’s after I’ve gone through 3. Steer clear. Do NOT purchase the product. Already would have been cheaper for me to buy the name brand than to waste all this money on a product that doesn’t work. And what about my patients? They’re truly who suffer from this product.

Easy to follow Photo tutorial it Quick relief
•They work well and as intended.•You can pack them without worrying they will accidentally leak or pop.•Perfect size for targeted treatment•The durability of the outer bag suprised me considering how long it took me to finally pop the interior. As anyone who has played sports will tell you muscle injuries usually require 20 minutes treatment on 20 off for a period of inflammation. These provide just that perfect amount of cooling relief. All that aside here is the step by step:•Grab by the top•Gently shake until everything shifts to the bottom•Fold the top to the bottom•Place half of the now folded top and bottom into a wooden cupboard/desk/door•Press until you feel the sudden rush of coolness in the bag•Shake and apply to affected area.

Nice quantity and value
Very inexpensive ice packs. Gets super cold very quickly. Good to store just in case. Nice size - not to big or small. Good for swelling relief or even just to feel good after a long day.

I’ve had better
I had one similar to this in my first aid kit, and used it when a friend of mine rolled his ankle playing sports. It was great, super cold, and lasted a decent amount of time. So I got this in hopes it’d be the same and to replace the kit.To test it I tried one and timed it. It stayed cold for 12 minutes and was chill for another 5ish minutes. However, it didn’t get as cold as I had hoped, like as cold as an ice pack. It was cold, but not cold enough to help with an inflamed injury, like a strained ankle, which is most likely what it would be used for being a volleyball player. Therefore in terms of pain relief, it would lack, but at least it could provide small some comfort when injured.Other than this, it was great in size and portability.

Works fast and lasts a while! Definitely would buy again!
Great for your emergency kit! Durable and long lasting! Bought these for my child who gets overheated frequently in the summer.Recommend these if you're working outdoors. Put one in your bra, or pocket, or use some wrap to strap it to your back or chest to stay cool if you are outdoors for extended periods.Great to keep one or 2 in your vehicle for emergencies if you're an outdoor person. And definitely a must have for medical emergency kits.Would recommend!Great price for a huge quantity!
