This blender sponge is great for applying liquid foundation. I've tried a lot of different sponges, both brand name and random ones, and have found that sponges like this work just as well as brand name ones. It has good denseness so that it doesn't absorb too much foundation. The sides and base are good for larger areas like the cheeks and forehead while the tip is good to blend foundation around the nose. Washes and doesn't seem to tear easily, though I'm careful not to twist while squeezing excess water out.

This RockFancy makeup sponge is a knockoff of the famous Beauty Blender sponge but the material is noticeably firmer. Because if the firmer material, it holds up well during washing and didn’t rip even when my nails dug into it while I squeezed out excess water, which has happened before with the Beauty Blender sponges. The firmer material on this sponge definitely makes it more durable. That said, the texture is quite a bit harder than the original Beauty Blender. Even when damp, it doesn’t have that same soft, bouncy feel, so blending takes more effort because heavier foundations the the one from Haus Labs require more finesse, i.e., it’s not as effortless to blend foundation or concealer compared to softer sponges. Not that big of a deal for me but thought it should be mentioned in case anyone is expecting blending heavy foundation or super pigmented blush to be fool proof like the original Beauty Blender. For me, the biggest con is the value. At $5.99 for a single sponge, it's expensive for what you’re getting. There are plenty of multi-packs of similar makeup sponges out there for around the same price, so this one is hard to justify. It’s a durable sponge and it does the job, but the firmer texture and higher price make it hard for me to recommend over other budget options.

This makeup sponge feels soft and comfortable to use, especially when dampened for foundation or cream products. It expands nicely with water and gives a smooth, more natural-looking application without soaking up an excessive amount of product. The shape makes it easy to reach around the nose and under-eye area, and the latex-free material is a nice bonus for sensitive skin users. It seems durable with normal use and cleaning, making it a good value for an everyday beauty tool.

I was shocked to learn that some beauty blenders actually do have latex in them, which is a pretty common allergy. I ordered this one to see if some of my skin irritation improved, and it did. I don’t have a known latex allergy, but I do get a little itchy with adhesives (which are related). I can’t say it’s 100% because of latex, but I’ll be sure to order these in the future because they specifically say they are latex free. As far as use goes, they work exactly the same as my old blender sponge. When wet they blend effortlessly.
