Love At First Bike
I used to hate wearing cycling shoes. They never fit properly and my feet would be screaming for their removal long before my long rides were over. This is no longer the case. The Keen Commuter III Sandals are very comfortable throughout. They are rigid enough to allow for attachment to the pedals. They provide sufficient toe protection and foot ventilation. I don't need to carry a second pair of shoes for after the journey as the Keens can be worn as a walking sandal as well. I have only had a chance to test these sandals out a few times but I have been truly happy with them so far and have no hesitation in recommending them.

Solid commuting/walkabout shoes
I've been using these to ride my bike to and from work, a 4 mile commute, with 400 ft of climbing, all in one shot (very steep hill on the way). I was a little worried that the soles wouldn't be stiff enough for climbing, but they handled it just fine.I don't know that I'd recommend them for 30+ mile rides...I went for a 25 mile jaunt, and had a little bit of a hot spot on one foot (I'm using SPD cleats), but for around town running around, or a day where you're going to be on and off the bike all day, they're great. Totally worth the price. Of course, they're not as stiff or form fitting as my road shoes (Lake 330CX), but if they were, they would be terrible for walking around in.Btw - listen to them when they say they run large. I have immense feet - I just bought a pair of size 15 Asics running shoes, and they fit perfectly. The Keen sandals, I took a chance and bought size 14 - and lucky I did, because they were just right.

Poor Design
For the most part these sandals are OK. They fit good, compared to last year's model which were too narrow. The problem with these Commuter III sandals is that the strap that secures the sandal over the top of the foot is too narrow. Also, the padded tongue that the strap is supposed to lay across is poorly designed. The tongue is too short and the loop through which the strap passes which is supposed to keep the strap on top of the tongue is too long. The end result is the strap travels up on the ankle and begins to cut into the skin. It is such an easy fix that the designers must have been high when they designed it. Too bad. There are not may options in biking sandals and if it were not for this issue the sandals would be great.

Plastic sole plate no match for daily riders
looks great fits well, but you cannot expect long life from the plastic sole plate. These styling shoes lasted only about 2500 miles on the bike and that is less than 1 year for me.

I generally quite like Keen sandals and have worn them for many years
I generally quite like Keen sandals and have worn them for many years, but this pair didn't last very long. The cleat and mounting plate tore out of one shoe after a few months (and are still stuck in my pedal until I can find something to grab them with and twist them out), and both had big cracks across the sole right where the cleat goes.I also wasn't a fan of the velcro ankle strap. The shoes otherwise fit well, but that ankle strap cut my skin when tightened. I much preferred the other models I wore, where all the tightening was done with the elastic lace.

These are going to France
Have been wearing Shimano SPD sandals for over a decade but occasionally get sand kicked off the front tire into the shoe or pick up sand dabbing on brief dirt or gravel sections. The closed toe works well and keeps my feet clean. I wore them on a 2 and a half hour ride yesterday and ache from the exertion not the shoes.

These sandals are terrific in hot weather
These sandals are terrific in hot weather. They allow my feet to breathe and to swell without painfully confining them. I do wish there was a better solution to the ankle strap retainer. I wish Keen would continue to make these sandals. In my rather limited circle of riding friends 5 women and two men wear them.

Little clunky- but they do the job!
They are not too comfortable to walk around in, but much better fit than the Commuter II. No issues yet- have used them for several months. They are not beautiful shoes, but functional. Had no issues with either SPD or Crank Bro's cleats.
