Works great, this is a must have if your house uses Natural gas or Propane.

I did not realize that an old furnace, even though functional, is a potential MAJOR carbon monoxide producer. Once made aware of this fact, and in an effort not to "wake up dead", I purchased these. I purposely got the battery powered ones after seeing reviews where wall outlet styles from other makers had gotten hot/smoked/caught fire. The folks who sell this unit were good enough to include the mounting hardware. It sounds like a small thing, and it is... until you finally get the time to do this chore, and the energy, and get ready to mount... and have to make a trip for hardware. The actual installation and operation was simple, well thought out, and I threw them up in 5 rooms inside of maybe half an hour. Amazon is getting better about carrying more hardware items like this, and their system is convenient, fast, and saved me a trip to the hardware store (which is becoming a nightmare nowadays). Having said all that, I was very pleased with these things and feel like the house is significantly safer.

We bought the Kiddie product name because they are a known name. We got our 6 detectors and installed 4 of them - the 5th and the 6th detector was defective. We called kidde and they said they were over 10 years old and they would never sell that outdated product - so we had to call Amazon - they were nice enough to send us a refund for the defective ones. But beware to buy off of this seller. If he puts defective products in the package - that is not good at all!
