This latch has a nice feel, finish & weight. It does not feel cheap or flimsy. The measurements are spot on & fit our door as perfect as the original. It took a little work to change the latch direction (depending on which side of the door the latch is going to be installed) but once it was done the install was a piece of cake. We have one pocket door at one end of our bathroom & a regular door at the other end. I ordered brushed nickel hinges and door handle for the regular door to match the sink & tub fixtures. The new latch was the cherry on the cake completing the modernization of our bathroom. My neighbor liked mine so well that I've just ordered one for her bathroom.

Nicely made jamb lock suitable for even hollow core pocket doors. I and many others find this the most convenient pocket door hardware style and the privacy latch makes them ideal for use in bathrooms where they are commonly used. While likely not ADA compliant this hardware is intuitive and easy to use with compromised or painful hands/arms.

The door lock will not fit if installation instructions are followed. After cut out of the door per instructions the lock mechanism protrudes and will not fully seat. I drilled a 3/4 inch hole 1/4 inch deep 1 inch down from the top of the door cutout. This gave enough relief for the lock to fit in the door and for the locking mechanism to work. A chisel could be used to provide relief also. The lock itself was good. I would have given 5 stars if instructions had been correct. Installation itself was not difficult otherwise, but I had to return another day to complete the job because of faulty instructions.

After our bathroom remodel the old varnished brass/gold pocket door stuck out like a sore thumb. We had brushed nickel throughout bathroom so we ordered this replacement locking pocket door in brushed nickel. It looks fantastic! It fit really snug after removing the old one. I had to use a rubber mallet to tap it into place once I was able to fit it onto the door. Our old locking door hardware never locked - this one locks perfectly. I am really happy with this purchase. I am going to buy another one (non locking though) for the laundry room. The only real challenge I ran into with the replacement was that the old strike plate had a stripped Phillips screw. I had to do a web search to find out how to resolve. I used a thick rubber band, put it over the head of the screw driver and firmly pushed into the stripped screw and was able to remove it. CONS Once in place it didn’t fit exactly where the other did and went in so snug it splintered the wood a little (see photos). Not a big deal to me though, I will clean this up and paint the door so it looks brand new.

Perfect replacement for our old knob. This is a heavy duty set. Super simple to install.

The lock on our old fixture was not staying locked. Upon taking it apart, I found that the thin piece of sheet metal with two notches (once on each end) that is inside the mechanism and is meant to hold the lock hook down, had broken in two pieces. I measured all dimensions of my existing lock hardware mechanism and compared to the dimension diagram of this lock mechanism. It seemed to be an exact match of my current mechanism so I ordered one and it did turn out to be an exact match. The installation was a breeze. Very happy with the product, literature, and outcome. I actually ordered a spare as I have two pocket sliders and it one ever goes bad again, I do not have to research again as I spent time at various other hardware and home improvement stores looking for a drop in replacement.
