Good sized sheets of cold rolled steel.
These cold rolled steel sheets had good surface finish, which had minimal scratching (although not perfect), and came with a light oil barrier. There was no mill scale and the edges were cleanly and crisp. The corners were square, not rounded as in the photos, which I preferred. They came packed in bubble wrap and paper. They seemed a bit pricey to me, but I think they will be great for small welding projects, or practice coupons, or plasma cutting artwork... the list goes on. I'm pretty happy with them so far, having cut out some small brackets, and look forward to coming up with ideas for the rest!

Great Quality
Great quality. They are very versatile and cut like nobody's business. Just the right thickness and once sanded, the finish looked pretty good.

Heavy Duty Steel Sheets for Projects
These standard silver metal feel very solid. The size is manageable but still useful for a variety of DIY or repair projects. The material is thick and durable, exactly what you’d expect from cold rolled steel. For the price, they feel worth it if you need reliable somewhat bendable material for projects. Straightforward and functional.

sheet metal
I recently picked up the 4 Pcs 12" x 16" Sheet Metal 18 Gauge Cold Rolled Steel Sheets, and I have to say, they’ve been quite handy for my DIY projects! The steel feels solid, and it's definitely sturdy enough for various tasks around the house. I used it to create some custom shelves in my garage, and cutting it was easier than I expected. A good pair of shears did the trick without any issues. What I appreciate the most is how versatile these sheets are—I've also worked on some small repairs and even a craft project with them. One thing to note is that, while they’re pretty smooth, a quick sanding around the edges helped avoid any sharp spots. Overall, I think these steel sheets are a great buy for anyone looking to tackle some fabrication work or repairs. They’re reliable and have held up well so far. I’d definitely recommend them to fellow DIY enthusiasts!

Quality Clean Steel, But Undersized
This is very nice steel with a uniform scale that is very smooth, and very little oil as they packed it with a rust resistant paper that is very much appreciated. A light wipe with acetone and I was able to tig weld no problems, so no contaminants in the steel, and as best I can test it seems right on par for hardness and bendability with other pieces of 1018 I have on hand. Small pieces like this are a great value for me as I rarely use thin plate, so it is a waste to order in a large sheet of 8 gauge. That does bring up the one major flaw in this product which is that it measures exactly 3mm (.118") thick, and while I've seen thicknesses vary slightly I've never seen 8 gauge any thinner than 4mm. The item details call out it being .13" thickness, which is also incorrect.

Good chunks of mild steel plate, just as expected.
These Steel plates are as expected. They are a good value when compared to buying something at a local big box store. As evidenced by the sharp edges (be careful) they were cut with a shear. The measurements are as follows: Thickness : 3 mm Length : 35 cm Width : 15.2 cm Based on the appearance and properties, these seem to be basic mild carbon steel, as expected. These will work very well for making parts and brackets out of plate. These will be perfect for anything requiring beefy and rigid sheet metal that can still be worked with and bent to shape with some effort. Would I recommend this item? If this size and type of steel is what you are looking for then yes I would definitely recommend ordering these steel plates.

High Quality Steel, Easy to cut and uniform thickness.
Quality of the steel is very good. Much better than the stuff available at the big box stores. The steel is very rigid and has no bend at all. The steel thickness was uniform across both sheets and cutting was done easily with plasma cutter. I have yet to install this but I plan to use it to reinforce some rusted areas of my truck frame. This thickness was recommended and was a huge value compared to the pre-cut available online.

Thickness is falsely advertised
Pros: Clean edges Length and width are on spec Steel quality appears to be good Welds, bends, and cuts well Cons: IT'S NOT 8 GAUGE! I'm not sure why other reviewers are saying 0.12" is 8 gauge because it's not. It's 11 gauge. 8 gauge should be 0.16" thick (technically 0.1644). The functional difference between 8 gauge and 11 gauge is huge so I am deducting 3 stars for that alone. I will not be able to use these for my project without applying some high quality adhesive to them or welding them and using them together. I don't know if this discrepancy is a simple mistake or intentional. I am tired of Amazon tolerating listings that falsely advertise the quality or an item. Don't by this unless you want something other than advertised.
