About a year ago, I started looking for a way to preserve my wine knowing I usually just want a glass—or maybe a full glass—but rarely finish the whole bottle in one sitting. After doing some research, I purchased the Coravin Wine Preservation System directly from the company’s website, and I’ve been really happy with it ever since. It’s a really cool and clever system. There’s a thin needle that you gently insert into the cork, which pressurizes the bottle and lets the wine flow through the Coravin spout. The best part? You never actually remove the cork, so the wine stays preserved for a long time. I believe the company says up to 4 weeks—I’ve never left a bottle that long, but even after 2 weeks, the wine has still tasted fresh and just as good as the first pour. I get the replacement capsules from Amazon, which has been super convenient. Overall, this has been a great addition to my wine routine and perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy a glass without the pressure of finishing the bottle.

Let's be honest. Coravin's argon capsules are overpriced compared to generic ones and they can get away with it because their capsules have this special plastic cap on them which mates with their wine systems. With a little acetone and care, the plastic cap can be removed from an empty capsule to screw it on to a generic argon capsule. But since the plastic caps eventually wear out, you will need to purchase a box of the Coravin capsules to get more caps. If you don't want to play games with your capsules, stick to the real ones from Coravin and you'll be pleased. As for the Coravin system, I totally love it. Great for home and for going on a cruise where I can keep multiple bottles in my quarters and "decant" the right wine for dinner. Most of the wineries in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys use Coravin so that they can stock a lot of library wines in their tasting rooms.

These are hit and miss. I received one defective package where the canisters appeared to be slightly too short to puncture in the Coravin. I was able to correct this by placing a dime in the base of the chamber to "prop" the capsule up,

the Coravin capsules are the real deal. Even though they might be the most expensive, they are worth it. I have been using a Coravin for over 10 yrs now and always buy the corvine brand argon gas capsules. 3 months ago, I decided to try a cheaper brand-blue flag. these things were garbage! they only lasted maybe 3-4 pours each capsule! what a waste. so at the end of the day-you are not really "saving money". buy the known and trusted brand. it lasts and is perfect every time!

These are the charging capsules for the Coravin wine system. I bought a Coravin as a gift for my husband, and it hung around for six months until he decided to try it; now he uses it constantly. The needle of the Coravin pierces the cork, and after you pour the wine, you remove the needle, and the capsule pushes CO2 into the bottle and then seals the cork back up. You can wait weeks or months before having a second glass from the bottle, and it tastes just as fresh as the first drink.

Bought 12 pack and the box recieved was opened and unsealed on trying to insert and use the canisters they DO NOT WORK. USED or DEFECTIVE?! There is a nonrefundable policy? EMPTY?
