For me--totally worth it.
This is my 2nd one. My 1st one I installed on an 1150GSA and it's been working perfectly for 25,000 miles now. This 2nd one I installed on a new-to-me 1100GS that's gonna be my new sidecar rig. Installation was ridiculously simple, but I'm using this only for my turn signals. The SM5 comes with a wire that you can splice into your brake lights (see description for what this does) but I didn't need or want those functions, so all I had to do was pull the BMW flasher relay out of the fuse box, and replace it with the SM5. Pretty much plug-n-play. Works perfectly. Turns your turn signal buttons into simple on-off pushbuttons. Also increases my conspicuity by converting my turn signal lights into running lights. I programmed the SM5 to automatically cancel my turn signal after 30 seconds so I won't look like a dweeb riding down the highway oblivious with my blinker on. Oh, wait, I never do that. LOL. There's also a fast-flash lane change function (see description) and this also works exactly as advertised. Makes the BMW turn cancel button superfluous--except if you use your 4-way hazard flashers (I never do) the BMW cancel button will turn them off. It depends on how much you hate the turn signal buttons on your BMW, but for me spending $100 on this item is totally worth it.

I'm in the process of upgrading a 2003 K1200RS to run LED turn signals and running lights. Forums led me to the Kisan signalMinder and an aftermarket German solid state relay to do the job. The Kisan is more expensive, but is made in the USA, which is important to me. The unit fit the electrical connectors perfectly, and is actually a little thinner than the OEM unit, so no problems in fitment. There are some basic programmatic changes you can make with the turn signal switches to set such things as running light intensity, auto-off timing, etc. Worked as advertised out of the box and for the past month; looking forward to a lot of well lit performance in the future.

Still in business?
I sooo wanted to buy this. After reading about hot modules, parasitic drain, poor/non-existent customer support. Now their website is no longer valid. Deal killer for sure.

Functionally Fine
This unit was easy to install and program. It works as advertised. It's a great improvement over the stock controls. It would have gotten five stars if they had sent me a new one, not an obviously returned unit with numerous scratches on the case.

2 minute fix!
Exactly as described and it works! BMW motorcycle turn signal operation quirky, difficult to use. This just fixes that with a two minute install, easy. Recommended to friend with turn signal woes and he sez his works great, much better. Cheap easy fix for aggravating condition.

Makes LED lights possible without resistors
Use on both the R1100RT and the R1150GS. The added low level lighting on the turn signals really improves visibility.

Essential riding gear...
I love this product. I've purchased several over the years for the various bikes I've owned.
