Railway Scenery Watchtower/Lookout Tower (Grey) HO Scale 1:87

The model came unassembled. The assembly pictures are on the website. They are more than adequate. I used Plastruct Plastic Weld to attach the pieces together. I worked great. I am vey happy with the lookout, it will be painted then placed on my HO scale model train layout.

I found this watchtower quite a challenge to assemble. There are no directions included in the box itself and your only hope of figuring out how all the pieces fit together is to look at the pictures Outland provides for this particular structure at their website. The hardest part was solving the mystery of how to put the stairs together. I might also add that you will need lots of glue to make the pieces stick together. This is not an "insert tab A into slot B" kind of model. It's more of a "put some glue on the edge of A and then stick A against B and then hold them together for 60 seconds" (or however long it takes your glue to "cure") sort of model. I will say that this is a very cool structure and once I had it completed, I was very happy with the way it looks. I have even run some wiring up the tower to allow me to light up a little LED in the corner of the top platform, which is kind of neat. My grandson is very happy with this addition to his HO train setup.

I liked the product overall. The including of better instructions would be nice.

This is a 3D product. Thought I would try. Item did not snap together easily and stay snapped so I tried glue. Glue did not work at all. Plastic, super, epoxy, cement and and other glue I tried did not adhere to the 3D plastic so product is useless. I guess you get what you pay for? I tried to go cheap, didn’t work. Don’t waist your time and money.

The pieces are small and the instructions not great but once assembled it looks great!

With fingers that are getting pretty stiff I got it done. Railing is crap. Still have final paint to do.

I like the way it looks. BUT, there are no instructions. I used the photos to build it, wasn’t bad. HOWEVER, this plastic is incredibly difficult to glue together. Model Master Liquid Cement and Gorilla Super Glue don’t work. I took an hour long break and when I touched stuff the Super Glue stuck the parts to my fingers and the complex staircase assembly completely fell apart. Both types of glue simply not working. The floor part was warped making assembly even more difficult. The parts have very high details and look great. If this was 3-D printed, that staircase needs to be printed as one piece. I guess these partially assembled parts will have to sit overnight before I can finish. Maybe I’ll just hang a rope-ladder instead of the stairs. I may have to connect parts with a soldering iron!

This is the 22nd model i have purchased from outland.The first after working out what went where,clipped together nicely.However I have been working on putting this together,again with no instructions,and it's been hard work.where some of the items are bent making it difficult to put together.I am sure when i do manage to get it done,the tower will look good.

Dieser Bausatz (Wachturm/Aussichtsturm) ist nur was für Fortgeschrittene. Für Anfänger ungeeignet. Viel fummelei bis etwas Stabilität reinkommt. Man muss schon etwas Ruhe mitbringen, damit nicht immer wieder alles zusammen fällt. Eine kleine Grundplatte hätte vieles einfacher gemacht und würde für mehr pass Genauigkeit führen. Eine Beschreibung fehlt gänzlich. Auch die angezeigten QR- Codes bringen einen nicht wirklich weiter. Dafür 17€ ink. Versand sind mir dann doch zu teuer. Sonst hätte ich mir noch einen Bestellt. Den das fertige Modell sieht recht gut aus. Als Wachturm für meine Militär Stützpunkt sehr geeignet.
