Dash Salt-Free Seasoning Mix, Taco, 1.25 Ounce (Pack of 12)

Another great Mrs Dash products we use to in my husband's low sodium diet for his heart health. We use it to meal prep Taco Bowls (flavoring ground turkey as a topper to a Jasmine Rice/Riced Cauliflower/No Salt Added Rotel base). It is flavorful & he loves it. Next I plan to make taco spaghetti using it again in ground turkey or ground pork with Barilla Protein+ Angel Hair (mouth-watering just thinking about it).

With family members moving to low sodium diets, and one being on a restricted diet, we've had to make a few hard changes in our meal choices. Through trial and error, we've discovered how much salt is added "as flavor" to so many foods in the grocery store. When we found the Mrs Dash packets, i was skeptical, very skeptical, because the jars of Mrs Dash are nothing but bland fillers to our taste buds. The taco seasoning packets are quite flavorful, but not heat monsters -- some brands simple load chilies into the mix to offset the salt lacking, kill the taste buds rather then finding a nice balance? Mrs Dash seems to have found a decent balance of flavor without excessive heat for taco meat, and zero salt added. Others have complained about potassium taste, we haven't noticed it in any of the dozens of packets used. Only thing I suggest is adding little more water than the recipe calls for, to completely dissolve the seasonings and get them mixed with the meat, we've found the 3/4 cup water just wasn't enough to do the mix justice, whereas 1 cup does. If you add too much water by accident, just simmer it a bit longer to reduce before serving. Makes for great tacos, taco salads, even works to season sliced steak for fajita night, just a couple ideas to avoid the same meal every time :-)

I've been using this Taco seasoning for a couple of years now as part of a sodium restricted diet, and I will say I don't notice that it doesn't have salt. It has great flavor and I love being able to get it from Amazon as my local grocery store no longer carries it.

I have to watch my sodium intake, but I also love convenience. Mrs. Dash taco seasoning allows me to whip up a batch of fajitas or tacos and the only salt I have to consider is in the cheese I add. The flavor is good, not too spicy (as I'm a spice wimp) but still assertive enough.

Perfect for no salt diets. This spice mixture is just as excellent as the high salty versions. Makes excellent chili, tacos, casseroles! Highly recommend.

One of the packs was cut open and put in the box with the others. The outside box was not damaged so it had to have happened before the packages were boxed. The seasoning mix was spilled out in the box and got on the ketchup that was sent in the Mrs. Dash container. As for the products themselves they are excellent. The Mrs. Dash Taco mix is great since I really have to watch my salt intake. My husband uses it when he makes meatloaf. The Heinz "no salt added" ketchup (that I ordered at the same time and also came in the Mrs. Dash box) is also great. I have used it for years and love the taste. When I taste regular ketchup now, it really tastes too salty.

We buy this in bulk because it is so good and no sodium. Cheaper than we can get in our local supermarket. Great taste for tacos and burritos. Heat level is OK because it allows us to all add extra heat to bring it up to our individual levels.
