Frigidaire 50 Pint Dehumidifier w/Wifi

I bought this unit to replace a Midea 50 pint dehumidifier that was defective right out of the box and had to be returned as it had a defective humidity sensor. This Frigidaire dehumidifier is perfect for hot, clammy, steamy central Florida where the recent temperatures have touched 100 degrees with 90%+ humidity. It's quieter than the Midea (on low setting the decibel reading is 45 vs. 75 for the Midea); and does an excellent job of removing humidity and maintaining it at the level I set. I have to empty it twice a day, mid day and just before bedtime, to reduce the humidity in my 1600 sq foot house from 65%+ and maintain at 50% to 52%, but running the dehumidifier has really taken off the load from my central a/c. This purchase was one of the best I've made for my home and I highly recommend this unit.

First, my previous Frigidaire of this size lasted me for 11 years in my basement on auto, humidity set at 4o. This has the added feature of wi-fi. Setting it up was easy. Had to call the service department to get the unit and my phone to merge. Now I can see and control the unit anywhere.

This is a great dehumidifier. It makes the rooms so much more comfortable. The bucket, when filled, is very heavy. I'll definitely get my arm workout in. I do wish it were easier to see how much water it has left in it. It shuts off when it's empty. But if the gauge were dimly lit it would help. Mine somehow started leaking. I called Frigidaire, and they are working on a replacement. As soon as I email their info to them. So I would say they are responsive to their customers.

So far so good. Seems to be performing as it should. It is disappointing that there is no indicator of the current humidity level. Just a read out of your target level.

A little loud on the regular setting but I don’t mind, sounds like an A/C running and it’s worth it. Works great, air feels cleaner and smells better. Less musty. Amazing how much water it collects.

No auto-shut off when you remove the bucket to empty it. You have to turn the unit off to do that. Most of the lights on the screen don't work (inc. the power indicator,) unless it's on the 2nd mode. Frigidaire customer service assures me this is how it's supposed to work. These days, Frigidaire dehumidifiers don't last 2 years (as many reviews--and my own experience--clearly show.) It's a powerhouse of dehumidification, sure, but I knew well enough to buy the 4-year warranty, as we're going to need it (so, ultimately, the cost of the unit is +$50, and it still won't work nearly as long as it should.) The Frigidaire dehumidifier I bought 14 years ago's still going strong. I should've bought 2 back then... 8 days after receiving it, it's mostly stopped sucking up the humidity. The warm air that blows out the top is cold. Now to navigate Frigidaire's warranty nightmare. Further update; Despite the company telling me they'll replace the clearly defective unit, navigating the warranty system really is a nightmare. I had to call back for more help, as my problem wasn't listed as an option. Their CSR told me to pick anything, because it doesn't matter. I suspect this is how they're going to "invalidate" the claim. We'll see... Instead of honoring their warranty and replacing the unit (as I was told they would,) now they want me to ret'n this to AMZ (despite the fact that I'm old, arthritic, and don't even have the packing materials anymore.) I could barely get it into my house when it was delivered, and now they want me to repackage and lug it 20 miles away.

This is exactly what we needed. We had an older version of Frigidaire dehumidifier which stopped running after numerous years so we upgraded to this newer model . It was an excellent value for the sale price we paid. It is very quiet and does the job perfectly. It’s very sleek looking and easy to use. Would highly recommend this unit

After trying two other lesser expensive brands that did not work well at all, this one is a winner! The humidity in the house was measuring at 68% the day we plugged it in and set it on high. Day two it was down to 60% already and in just a few days it was at 45% and holding on medium setting through 80-90% humid weather. This is a gem and worth every penny.
