SHARK, THE MANUFACTURER OF THISPRODUCT, CARES ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS
After receiving delivery from Amazon of Shark’s WV201RGBRN WANDVAC Cordless Hand Vac, I learned the following: 1. Receiving a product from Amazon does not mean that the product received is as-intended at time of purchase. I received an unsealed product box with an attachment missing. As directed by the product brochure, I called the SHARK Customer Service number. (The brochure is -- and should be -- enclosed in the product box.) I spoke with a very kind, responsive, and responsible SHARK CUSTOMER SERVICE representative. He advised me to register the Shark product (which I did by providing him with the requested information). He IMMEDIATELY facilitated dispatch to me of the missing attachment to the vac. NOTE: I called SHARK on Tuesday (after receiving delivery and checking the product box contents) and received the attachment from SHARK on Saturday. SHARK provided contemporaneous information re. fulfillment, dispatch, and delivery. I rate SHARK OUTSTANDING. (Thank you, SHARK!) 2. It was only after I called SHARK that I noted two Amazon coded stickers on the product box (a red and a white sticker that I have not previously encountered with prior purchases). Accordingly, I reached out to Amazon to ask if the product I received was new product or returned merchandise. I did NOT receive an answer to my question but noted that Amazon unilaterally began a 'RETURN" process -- directing me to go to a UPS Store that same week -- within a couple of days. When I objected and noted that I had registered the purchase and intended to keep it, I was also told that replacement (that I, also, did not request) would NOT be possible. 3. By this point in time I had watched multiple Youtube videos about the Shark Ion handheld vac and I used the vac; I realized that, among other things: a. It is an effective and impressive cleaning appliance b. It has small dust cup capacity and needs to be emptied perhaps more frequently than experienced by some consumers with other product.. c. If not emptied and/or if the filter needs cleaning/changing, the fully charged vac may, among other things, cut-off and/or otherwise not effectively perform. (Some posted that the product may feel warm.) d. Per the instructions, even fully charged produces minutes of operation. (The internet -- consumer postings) indicate ranges of time from 3 to 8 to 10 minutes; the outer end (not often mentioned) was 30 minutes. e. Despite what may be considered practical operational 'limitations', the effectiveness of the fully functioning vac is lauded. It is important to keep in mind the manufacturer's representations regarding intended use (such as small spill cleanup). 4. My personal conclusions: a. This product, perhaps designed as a limited-use handheld, is so effective in short-time use that consumers wish there was longer operational time and larger capacity. It is lightweight and well-designed. It is VERY effective/powerful when appropriately functioning. b. This clean-up tool is not designed for longer time and larger capacity use. c. SOME CONSUMERS report longer operational time and less need to clean or change filters. d. It may be prudent to have a supply of filters on-hand. e. SHARK has evidenced caring about its product and consumers being able to use their products effectively. f. YOUTUBE videos, as well as information provided by SHARK in its brochure and other product-related information, help even the most unmechanically-inclined consumer to understand product operation and care. 5. I have encountered challenges with my purchase of this product but at this point in time I would not hesitate to purchase additional Shark products from SHARK At this point, given the foregoing about the handheld vac I have had for less than one week, I am impressed that SHARK cares about its products and consumers of its products. I have concerns about long-term full functionality and keeping the product plugged in/charging continually but will rely on SHARK instructions.

Compact with a lot of suction power!
I'm always hesitate to purchase one of these handheld vacuums because one I had years ago didn't really have much suction power. Well, surprise! This one has very good suction power without being so noisy. It's easy to assemble and charge. I've used it a couple of times already for the small messes that I used to bring a whole vacuum cleaner out to clean up. I love that it's cordless and charges using a plug-in base so I can leave it in a corner and out of the way. It's lightweight and the size is perfect for easy handling. I'm so pleased with this, but then I do also have a Shark vacuum cleaner which I love. And the fact that they also offered it in pink! I'll be taking it out to vacuum my vehicle interior later as well. Highly recommend!

ZERO ⭐️—updated
Fully charged the battery last 10seconds. 🤬 So I saw a video that said if it’s shutting off after a few seconds it’s not the battery but the filter. We pulled out the filter and it was full. Crazy because we had only used it a couple of times. We cleaned it and it works great again. Actually I have to clear the filter often, but I can actually use it to clean so many things and the battery never dies before I’m done. I’m sorry I doubted you Shark.

Small but mighty
Convenient for quick pickups, with good performance and easy cordless use I keep this on my countertop, and it’s convenient to grab for crumbs and small messes. Living in Florida, I’ll admit I also use it to vacuum up bugs! It picks things up well and performs reliably for quick spot cleaning. The cordless design makes it easy to carry from room to room, and it feels comfortable and easy to handle while cleaning. It also feels stable when set down on the countertop or another flat surface, so I don’t worry about it tipping over easily between uses. My main drawbacks are the small size and battery life. I wish it were a little bigger and stayed charged longer. For quick pickups, though, the compact size, cordless convenience, easy handling, and stable design make it useful to keep nearby.

Great vacuum until it stopped working
Purchased the vacuum about 4 months ago. I can count on one hand how many times it was used in the last several months since I mainly use it for hard to reach areas and the car when I’m doing a big clean. All of a sudden I noticed that it wasn’t charging and called customer support. They told me it wasn’t the charging base but the handheld unit itself. They said it was within the warranty, so they would ship me out a new vacuum handheld unit. I mean really… even if it wasn’t under the warranty, I barely used this thing, bought it like 100 days ago and I just paid over $100 for a glorified Dustbuster. The real reason I’m placing this 1-star review isn’t even that it stopped working after 4 months of light use, it’s also that I paid so much for it and they charged me over $20 to ship the new unit which is supposedly still under warranty. Not okay. I thought for sure since shark is cheaper than dyson, and tends to get pretty good reviews (I found this one only after my searching on the best handheld on consumer reports), that it would be pretty solid, but maybe a bit worse than dyson. As far as performance while it worked, I was pleasantly surprised. It picked up the tiniest speck of dust and large pellets from around my pellet stove. Cleaned sand out of the car like nobody’s business. I’m short, before it suddenly died, I would have given it a solid 5-stars, which is saying a lot given my standards for product performance. So disappointed that this just stopped working tho, I was thinking it would be as solid as some other more expensive items that paid for themselves over time because of how sturdy they were. I bought 3 cheap immersion blenders which all proceeded to break working minutes to a couple weeks of using them before buying a Bamix. It was 5x the cost, but it’s going strong still (bought it in 2009)!! That is what I hoped for with this being way more expensive than a $30 Dustbuster, but my parent’s Dustbuster has been going strong for 5 years. It’s not the best suction, and it’s clunky and unsightly, but it’s lasted. I have another plug-in large shark vacuum, which I have to say has done well since we got it a few years ago, so I started trusting the brand, but this has me thinking otherwise. I’ll try to update this review once the new handheld unit comes in. Hopefully they just don’t send me another faulty unit especially since making me foot the shipping charge. Update 2/2/22: After Shark made ME for shipping of the new handset (that is what they said the faulty part was), it arrived today. It was dirty, used, and contained no battery. I thought for sure it must be easy then to remove the battery from the old model and place in the new one. It definitely was not. I ended up destroying my knuckles and bleeding everywhere. I finally got the old battery in the new handset and it does not work or charge. I also noticed that the "new" handset is an older model. Now I'm out over $150 for this glorified dust buster. We're definitely going to call again and see if they will fix this mess.

Good purchase
Got this on Prime Day- very happy with the quality and design. Definitely expensive compared to other hand vacums but happy with it.

BEST HOUSEHOLD CLEANER!
I cannot stop recommending this Shark vacuum. I have a Miele canister but it is heavy and bulky for quick cleanups, corners, wooden steps. I use this multiple times a day. Even my toddler can clean up his mess with this one button press. The two downsides that reviewers mention are not a problem for me at all. I love the compact size that is the only way this can stay on my kitchen counter. For me the short charge time is worth it for the strong suction. This is not a primary vacuum so I dont need it to perform for longer times. Overall 5 starts highly recommend it!!

I read all the reviews and watched all the comparison videos
I hardly ever buy anything without doing research, these days. I did a lot of research on this purchase because the prices range from about $30 - $250 for the most popular brands of hand vacs. I have previously owned a hand vac that was a big let down, from a major name that everyone knows. At the time, I thought well, this manufacturer is well known for good products- should be safe to go with, but no. I was very disappointed with that unit- it had some major flaws for me, that I wanted to avoid this time. I want quality- I'm willing to pay a little more for something that will serve me well. I also have to balance that with how much it will be used. I was willing to pay the $250 for the top of the line in this category (although I didn't want to pay that much), if it met certain criteria. Some of these criteria are not shared by everyone. I live in a smallish condo- I don't have tons of space for everything I could want and certainly not out on the counters. My previous hand vac needed to always be plugged in, if I wanted it charged and ready. Who wants to wait 2 hours after a mess happens to charge something up, or have to deal with cords and finding plugs nearby? The problem with this, is it was large and ugly. It looked like one of the sad, older robots on the Jawa land crawler- some of you know what I'm talking about. It was an eye sore to look at, and took up a lot of counter space- so I wouldn't and sometimes couldn't leave it on the kitchen counter- I needed to store it somewhere, and it would invariably would not be charged when I needed it. Add to that, it just didn't work very well- it was awkward to hold, heavy and didn't have much suction- and on top of all that, didn't last very long. I had it about a year and then chucked it in the trash. Well I needed a new one, so I started to do my research. I watched all the youtube comparisons, read all the reviews, looked at what was online and in-stores. I compared prices, battery times, suction- style- every thing you could think of. The most expensive ones had some of the problems I mentioned above- you need a lot of space for these things, or you need a docking station that goes on a wall (I don't have a convenient place for that next to a plug)- otherwise the thing has to be stored...and I have bad memories of all that. It also turns out, the most expensive models don't really last all that much longer on battery than most of the others. What they do have, is great suction. So does this one, for it's size- it's one common thing that reviewers said about it, and they are right. I decided on this Shark, and I'm quite pleased with it. It is stylish- modern, sleek, light. It's not an eye sore sitting on my counter and doesn't take up much space. Because of all that, it's always charged and ready for little clean ups. I actually clean up all the small leaves that land on my outdoor patio with it, when it gets windy here (I stress that they are small leaves). It does a satisfyingly decent job of this. It's true I have to empty it several times when doing this- the cup is small- but's a one-click and drop easy, 2-second clean. The 10 minute charge is just enough to clean my whole patio of small leaves and tiny twigs. It's actually fun to use, like a Harry Potter magic wand- I look around the house hoping to find some small crumbs or something so I can zap it. It's long enough that I can suction up a cobweb dangling down from the ceiling on occasion. I'm very pleased with my purchase- Shark has a winner, here.
