Let me share my experience with this cozy sanctuary of tranquility. First and foremost, the weight of this blanket is nothing short of perfection. Like 1) works better than expected 2) has 2 covers. One is a soft, plush Velour and the other is a soft Lightweight microfiber 3) no odor to weighted filling Dislike 1) the 15 lb is heavy (duh!) I really underestimated how the 15 lbs would initially feel on my body! The first couple of mornings, after waking up, I ached all over! But it only took about a week for my body to adjust and now there are no aches or pains. The only time I am aware of the weight is when I make the bed. The reason I decided to try this blanket is because I sleep less soundly than I did even a few years ago. And when I get up during the night to use the bathroom it sometimes takes a while to fall back asleep. Also, important to note, I prefer light covers and become overheated easily. Happy to report that now, with the light cover on the filling and despite the weight, I am sleeping more soundly at night and actually feel more refreshed when I wake up. I am definitely not a morning person and usually need time each am to “equilibrate “ before beginning my day. Lately, I am up early, out of bed right away ( maybe just trying to get away from the heavy blanket?) and ready to start the day. Never thought I’d be making such changes as this point in my life. Hope others have as positive an experience as this from such an unexpected source!

I typically do not write reviews but have done a few here and there for really good or poor products. Through the years, I've had off and on insomnia where I'm awake for hours during the night. A week ago it was happening again and my normal course of actions (exercising more, staying up later, etc.) were not working. I saw an ad about this blanket and decided to give it a shot. Got the king size which was really rolling the dice since my poor husband didn't know what it was going to be like. First night we both got under the thing and hated it - husband described it like going to the dentist when u get x-rays and they put that weighted protection over you. Then after we complained about it for a few minutes, we were both out cold for the entire night. Still wasn't sure about it and we got in bed the following night and once more hated the thing. And once more, we fell asleep all night. I really knew it was working when my daughter complained the next day about the thunderstorm that woke her up - and she is a very sound sleeper where it takes a lot to wake her up. I was like, what thunderstorm?? Amazing. The other huge positive is with my other comforter I was waking up hot and sweating. Thought for sure the heaviness of this would be an issue for me. Nope, I never seem to get really hot. So here's the thing - we both still hate it every night when we get in it - we are getting used to it, but just don't like how heavy it firs feels. By morning, I don't really notice the weight of it at all. Given the great sleep we are getting, we are still going to continue to use it. I do like that it comes with two duvet covers that are washable. I washed the lighter weight one and came out pretty good. It helps that when it arrives, one of the duvets is on it as you can see how it's tied inside. Yes, the ties are a pain, but I wouldn't do it any differently as it really helps keeping it in place in the duvet. I don't know how many countless times previous down comforters never stayed in place. This one has specific holes along the edges and one on each side where the ties in the inside of the duvet loop through it to tie in place. Then has a zipper at the bottom of it once everything is tied in place. It's a pain to move it around because it's so heavy. But what can I say? The thing really works and we are willing to trade in our dislike of the heaviness for the deep sleep we are getting. Well worth the money. If you are wondering if it would work for you, I suggest giving it a try for a few nights. It definitely has worked so far for me!

This is going to be a highly subjective review, because I think this blanket provides a highly subjective experience. Some people will enjoy the extra weight and find it soothing, others, like myself, will find it claustrophobic and somewhat anxiety inducing. Pros: * Very well made, there's no doubt that this is a quality product. * Quite warm, and I can see many people in colder climates or winter months enjoying this blanket. * Lived up to most of the product description. Cons: * Not cooling. There's no way around the fact that this is a heavy blanket, and it will be warm no matter what duvet cover you choose to use. One cover is less warm than the other, but not cool. * Makes breathing ever so slightly harder. I suffer from lung disease, and the extra weight on my chest and stomach make breathing just a little bit more difficult. This may be avoidable for side-sleepers, but I sleep on my back. If you have lung disease or COPD this blanket might not be for you. * With the above point in mind, the blanket can create a feeling of claustrophobia and constriction, I found the feeling very disconcerting and anxiety inducing, far from comforting. This may not apply for you, but it did for me. Some people will love this blanket, others won't. The product is a quality product, it's well made and manufactured, and it lives up to most of its description; if you know that you'll like a weighted blanket then I can easily recommend this purchase, if you're not sure whether you'll like it or not then I can't guarantee that it's going to be something you'll enjoy. As my headline states: Hang on to your receipt, just in case you turn out to be someone like me who just doesn't like the way the extra weight and heat feel.

Updated 4/12: First - the customer service ROCKS! They went above and beyond to reach me and to resolve my issues with the blanket. Second - they have since redesigned their blankets and the previous issue I had is no longer a concern. The pockets are a good size, the blanket distributes weight nicely, and the new weights are even better for finding something that will work for you. The covers that come with it are very good quality and the ties are strong. The furry one feels so soft, and the cooler one is smooth and does actually feel cool. There's no reason you shouldn't buy this blanket, you'll love it, and if you don't the customer service will do what they can to make it right. Kudos to a company that listens to the feedback of its customers! Original review: Likes: came with both a warm and cool cover, both are soft. The weight feels good, like getting hugged all over. Beads are quiet, makes no noise. Did not like: Did not realize the pockets/squares were so large. The beads, which have the texture of sand stay bunched up in the corners - see picture. The weight feels good but didn’t distribute well, mostly for the following reasons: My small frame, I’m only 5’3”. Plus I have fibromyalgia and I am very sensitive to how things feel. And probably some OCD. Overall, it does what it’s supposed to do. Would probably work well on an average to large size person. Do not reoccommwnd for anyone small or overly sensitive. Will be returning.

Bought this for my son. He loved it. Slept through the night for the first time in ages. He takes it off the bed to hang out on his couch in the evening. The quality is superb. The soft furry duvet feels wonderful. The extra duvet is just like a sheet. That's the one to use in warm weather. I should add that getting 2 duvets is not standard with a weighted blanket. The weight is spread evenly. His is the 25 pound one. He's 5'11 and just over 25 pounds. I bought one and received it today. Ended up with the 20 pound as I couldn't find a 15, which I thought would be the best weight for me. I'm 5'4" and 115 pounds. I took it out and had a rest on the couch this evening and the weight feels perfect, but I'm anxious to try it out tonight. This is an additional post just to follow uo. I have been sleeping with this blanket for weeks now. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The weight is perfect for me, but others my size might prefer one that is not so heavy. My sleep is deeper and more refreshing. I do feel a calming effect as well. The 2 duvet covers are a great bonus. Some come with o e and others I looked at do not come with any. So if you're considering it at all BUY IT. If it doesn't work for you, you can always return it.

So my experience with the DoC Weighted Blanket is mixed. Without question, I fall asleep faster, and sleep more soundly using this blanket, for all the reasons all the other reviews describe; I simply feel more secure. The reason I only give this 3 stars, however is because of the size. I bought the 60x80 Queen for my standard Queen Size Bed. The blanket only covers the top surface of the mattress, with zero overhang. So, imagine, you inbetween the blanket and the mattress; the blanket has to go up - whatever it is, 12 inches? - and back down vertically as it covers you. The blanket is no longer reaching the edge of the bed. Now add a second body on that bed. The blanket simply is not big enough to consistently cover both of us. That and since the blanket is weighted down to your body, when you turn, you tend to take the blanket with you. Suffice it to say, there is a constant struggle for both of us to remain covered all night long without some active adjusting throughout the night. I had suspected this would be a problem, since I first bought this same blanket for my son to use on his twin bed. Having the queen blanket on the twin bed, it's not so much of a problem. I would have bought the King Size blanket had it been in stock, but after watching for a week or two it never became available.

I fell victim to the 'fad' of weighted blankets because I've tried so many things to help me sleep better and let me tell you - THIS IS WORTH EVERY PENNY! A weighted blanket lives up to all the hype. I have a 20-lb and while the recommendations are based on your weight, I would also recommend to consider how you sleep. Do you have a down comforter? if so, that's light weight, so you may not want a heavy weighted blanket. For me, I like to feel cozy like alot of blankets are on me without having 5 layers. This option gives you 2 duvet covers, one for winter and one for summer. I"ve only had the winter one on so far and it's incredibly soft! The weight distribution seems very even. While I'm not sure the blanket makes me sleep better, it definitely makes me more comfortable in bed therefore indirectly helping me sleep better and longer. Super cozy! If you toss and turn in the night, recommend you get a larger size because this will move and shift with you. I have a queen and it barely fits the top of my bed.

The blanket itself was top quality, but their customer service really did it for me. I had an issue with my order and the team really help me until I was satisfied.

The thing I like the most about this blanket is that it gives me the cozy feeling no matter how cold my room temperature is.

Very disappointed. The blanket was supposed to come with two covers. I only received one. It was important to me to have both the warm and cool cover. The cooling cover is missing.
