Very useful to have with chickens and ducks
I am a new poultry keeper lol. Me and my husband got some chickens and ducks and have been quickly learning as much as we can about them and determined it's vital to have a supplement with vitamin e and selenium in it for their growth and long-term health. We were considering a couple of options, either in liquid form to add to their water, or in this kind of powdered form to add to their food, and decided this one was best. It can be added to the entire flocks meal, or individual portions that they can eat out of a cup while you hold them, so that the rest of the flock can have a basic maintenance dose, but any with exhibiting any issues, can have a boosted dose. We find that much easier to navigate separate foods, than having separate waterers which would require having separate enclosures, plus they don't drink a lot at once, so ensuring they are getting enough of that is much more difficult, where is this we can essentially spike their treats with these nutrients and they are eager to take it so we can be more precise with the doses they are all getting. This is a very good value for the amount you are getting, a little definitely goes a long way. We have a flock of 10 currently so this will last a long time with that, and if we get more, this will still last many months and potentially longer of just a maintenance dose if no one is having any concerns. It comes with a little scooper which makes measuring very easy and you just sprinkle it on their food. It doesn't seem like they notice any flavor to it because they don't express any hesitation towards eating any food with it included, which is great. It's never ideal to have to syringe feed medicines or nutrients to animals that don't want them. Particularly chickens and ducks which are not the most calm and participatory towards treatments. They have been taking this willingly without issues or us having to do anything additional to offset the flavors. It's a pretty fine consistency, but as we are not using it in the water, I'm not sure how easy and quick it is to dissolve. But in general most things are easier to dissolve in warmer water, so in the winter time just heating up the water should make that easier if that is an issue. But in food it just seamlessly mixes in If you give the food a little spritz or splash and shake it around like we do anyway. That already boosts hydration and their interest in eating it anyway.

Selenium & Vitamin E Powder for Poultry
Yes!!! This product contains selenium and vitamin E in a powder form for chickens. Selenium works synergistically with vitamin E to help support chickens immune system and fight disease. Disease deficiency can cause muscular dystrophy leading to pale muscles, weakness, and death. It also helps during the summer with heat stress. It will improve reproduction performance as well as egg production. The description of this product is accurate. Health benefits of Selenium & vitamin E include an immune system boost, antioxidant protection, reproductive health and offers stress relief. Selenium and vitamin E each enhance the other function. Selenium helps reduce peroxide radicals while vitamin E neutralizes free radicals, creating stronger defense against oxidative stress. Like selenium deficiency, excess selenium can damage various tissues in poultry. Acute or chronic selenium toxicity can occur when the intake of selenium exceeds the need for the organism. In poultry , selenium toxicity can be manifested by reduced and decreased body weight, deformed eggs and foot lesions. This is a good product and can boost your chickens immune system when used properly. If you are unsure about how to treat your flock with this product please contact your veterinarian for dosage recommendations. Most commercial chicken feed products contain the vitamins and minerals that are essential to your flock’s health. Adding a little extra of this product as a boost for their health is okay but it should only be used on short term basis to avoid toxicity. It is reasonably priced and I consider it a good value for the money.

Truly Impressed — Helped Our Hen Recover and Thrive
I absolutely love the E and S Poultry Vitality Formula! This selenium supplement is incredibly easy to use and mixes effortlessly with feed. One of our hens was unfortunately attacked by a rooster, leaving her with most of the feathers on her head plucked out and a significant wound. After carefully cleaning and caring for her, we started giving her the E and S Poultry Vitality selenium supplement and kept her separated from the flock in a medical house during recovery. In a short period of time, we noticed a big change—she became more active and energetic, and her overall demeanor improved noticeably. Even better, her feathers have already started to grow back. She has now fully recovered, is out of the medical house, and is back to running around being a happy chicken again. Mixing the E and S Poultry Vitality Formula into the feed was very simple. I weighed out 6.6 lbs. of feed, added one scoop of the formula, mixed it, and it was ready to go. Seeing such a positive turnaround has been amazing. This supplement has become an essential part of our poultry care routine, and we will definitely continue using it. Highly recommend for anyone looking to support the health, vitality, and recovery of their flock.

Necessary for silkie chicks to prevent wry neck
Because I have silkies and frizzles, I sometimes have issues with wry neck or head twitchiness (possibly a precursor to wry neck) in young chicks. it is well known that vitamin E + Selenium can treat or prevent wry neck in chickens. In the past, I have purchased human grade vitamin E pills in gel form and dissolved them in water, and then taken human grade selenium pills, cut off a small piece and inserted it into a chicks beak. This method has a lot of pitfalls; it is difficult to estimate the correct dosage and the gel in Vitamin E tabs doesn't readily suspend in water. Using E and S poultry vitality formula is much much easier and safer for the chicks. Simply add the powder to chicken feed (1 gram for ~ 5 pounds of feed,) mix thoroughly, and you are good to go. The supplement comes with a 1 gram measuring spoon for your convenience. If one has breeds that are susceptible to wry neck, I would recommend this product as a better approach then purchasing the human pills.
