It is typically recommended to start by adding 0.03% of your batter weight and increase until you reach the desired length of preservation. However, do not exceed 0.4% of your total batter weight. As with any preservative, we recommend using the smallest amount possible to achieve the result you are looking for.

Is this gluten free? Or vegan?

Our Potassium Sorbate meets the FDA guidelines for gluten-free. None of the equipment used in the production of Potassium Sorbate comes in contact with gluten. However, it is packaged in a facility that also packages products containing gluten. For instance, our oats are processed in a facility that is not gluten-free. We have controls in place to prevent cross-contamination, but there is still a minute possibility through residual airborne dust.
