Ideal planting medium for Desert Rose pants and Orchids.
I was looking for a lightweight, fast draining medium for some Desert Rose plants I purchased. Coconut husk chips were recommended because while they drain rapidly, they are like little sponges that slowly feed water out to roots, but don't cause root rot. I'll put my orchids in this also. The reason I chose this particular chip was because I found that people were talking about having to rinse and rinse and rinse the chips they got because they were full of salt when they got them for some reason. These have been pre-washed and there is no salt residue. So here's my one warning...It's considerably less product than you think it will be. I purchased two bags of it and I'm glad I did. One bag woudn't have gone too far. Having said that, I will buy more of it, happy with the quality I received.

Our Oncidium loves this stuff! Great for orchids with finer root systems that need soil medium a bit more compact than bark/charcoal mix. Our Oncidium has already sent up two new bulbs since being transplanted into the coconut husk. I soak in a water bath once a week for 30 minutes with Better Gro Orchid Plus fertilizer and both the plant and root system seem VERY happy.

Good for Orchids
Good for Orchids. Enough for 3 or 4 pots mixed with coconut fiber and clay beads its really making my plants bloom again after 2 yrs!

Marvelous growing medium for Aroids.
Perfect for what I intended, growing a few young monsteras in. True to it’s nature, this was clean, dry and packaged well to prevent bugs and humidity until use.

My orchids like this stuff!
I like the product, but even more importantly, my orchids love it. Not too chunky nor too shredded. Just about right. One downside: I'd order more next time. One bag allowed me to transplant 2 orchids.

Product is okay but I would expect more than a medium size ziploc bag of husks for a price I paid.
