It probably would work, since the pattern calls for velvet or wool. It also calls for a lining, but it wouldn't be necessary if you use fleece. Hope this helped.

The pattern envelope lists Velvet, Velveteen, Shantung, Tweeds. Linings in Satin taffeta. My own was made out of cotton and came out OK, but the back of the envelope the pattern comes in lists those fabrics.
