It works and it looks cool
The helmet is super lightweight and breathable, even in the near 100F heat we have been getting. For me, it fits true to size, it's adjustable, and the facemask is easily detachable yet sturdy. It's saved my head once already in a moderate 10mph crash taking it easy on some pine straw. My head hit the ground despite my best effort to catch myself and I am SO glad I had this helmet on! Please remember, all the gear, all the time! For my EUC riders out there, I highly, highly recommend a pair of wrist guards and knee pads as well - at a minimum. My only gripe is I don't see a DOT safety rating, otherwise, 10/10.

Light, well vented, and comfortable
We got this because of our current helmet - a MET Parachute - was damaged in a crash. We initially purchased a Fox Racing Rampage Helmet to try to save some money; it is about half the price of this helmet and the MET. However the less expensive Fox was noticeably heavier, warmer, and tighter on the cheeks and, overall, felt claustrophobic. This helmet, the Bell Super 3R seems well reviewed, as far as I could tell, on the internet and I took the plunge (the MET is no longer sold in the US). As soon as we opened it, it was clear it was a much nicer helmet. Light weight, nice ventilation, and a nice fit. The size adjustment with the back wheel and the removable face guard are big plusses and I like the fact that there is slip between what is on your head and the helmet itself to reduce head twist during a crash.Although expensive, the additional cost is match by very nice features and I am happy to pay the difference.

Nice helmet!
I'm very happy with this helmet. I have not taken a fall with it yet but it's comfortable to ride with even in very hot long days. The lower detachment system is designed well and is solid.

Great for ebiking but look at other helmets
The 3R's not the best MTB helmet because it's not downhill rated. But I ebike with it so I'm sure it's fine. I barely notice it on my head and it has lots of holes so I never heat up when I'm in motion.I chose this helmet for the possibility of taking the chin bar off. It was also heavily discounted since the blue model had lots of old stock. But I never ride with the chin bar off since the helmet is so comfortable. In hindsight I should've bought a full face helmet that doesn't convert.

for 200+ dollars I was expecting a superior helmet far beyond what you'd get for 20-60 bucks
I've been riding with this helmet for about 3 months now.I ride trails on a full suspension Mtb and a cyclocross to work everyday, while wearing the full helmet.I purchased this helmet because it's the only lightweight, breathable, optional full face on the market currently. I had an accident on my daily commute while I was wearing a roadie helmet and slid for about 10 yards in the grass, on my face. The basic helmet didn't help at all.Since I was riding trails too, I decided on this.I'll be honest, for 200+ dollars I was expecting a superior helmet far beyond what you'd get for 20-60 bucks. The buckles and straps, the pads, the MIPS protection all feel very good and are of quality... But it still somewhat feels like the cheaper helmets. The paint job really sets it apart though; I picked up the Orion colors.Overall, this protects my face for the uses I put it through. It's very comfortable, and breathes very well, like a roadie helmet. It's not very aerodynamic, but personally I don't care.I can also remove the full face if I'm just on a low paced stroll with the GF.I wouldn't take it on a downhill track, but for everything else it fits the bill. Is it worth the money? For me, and others that have similar uses, yes.If you feel the price could be too steep, then you're probably right. If you don't absolutely feel the need for a full face, stick with one of the regular helmets on sale at your lbs or performance. For the hardcore downhillers, you probably want something a little more... Hardcore.5 stars for me - if you're on the fence or consider yourself extreme red bull stuff - look elsewhere.

Great Fit, Good Look, Old stock
I wound up ordering two of these helmets in July of 2024. Both arrive with Manufacture dates in 2021. I'm not expecting these to be sent direct from the factory out to the consumer or anything, but three years on the shelf is a bit much.Other than that issue the helmet is fantastic, it's light weight with great ventilation and doesn't give you that same boxed in feeling that a motorcycle helmet does. Removable chin bar is great and allows for more versatile use. Padding it sufficient with the cheek pads being extra fluffy.

Versatile
Lightweight, the front comes off, easy to use. Very good fit.YES THE FRONT STAYS ON IF YOU CRASH FACE FIRST…. If you’re looking for protection but not extreme crazy balls to the wall enduro trails and races. This checks all the boxes.

Very Amazing helmet
I bought one of these back in November for my son. They didn't have this color and the amazing thing is the mips is able to accommodate my big head as well as his semi big head. He is a 53 and I am a 57 to 58cm. The price was amazing. Love the fit and the ability to use or not use as a full face helmet. He rides full face now all the time. Too many face plants with his bottom lip getting messed up. We have not had any serious wrecks yet, but I have owned many Bell helmets and have and some pretty scary wrecks on my mountain bike that I would not be here now if it wasn't for my helmet. There are so many great options out there and we chose this model and brand and are super satisfied.

Perfect for Mountainbiking!!
This "dual" use helmet is exactly what i have been looking for!Heading up hill on a mountain trail or the steep slopes of Dartmoor you can remove the chin guard for a more pleasant climb up! But when wanting to drop down those nice fast slopes you just bung on the extra protection and get cracking. Its expensive maybe, but head protection is key!
