Great finish, high quality
Love the danish oil, easy to apply, gives my oak dining table a lustrous finish. That said you still need to apply another polyurethane finish to prevent grease to seep through the wood,

Easy to use but follow instructions
Very easy to apply. WIPE OFF ALL EXCESS OIL with dry cheesecloth. Do not leave WET. Follow the instructions. I sanded a new shaker style solid cherry sofa table to 600 grit, vacuumed away all dust and applied the cherry danish oil with folded cheese cloth. I apply liberally but WIPE DRY when done. The table needed a second coat to get a rich cherry color but I waited a few weeks. I buffed the table with 0000 fine steel wool; again vacuumed all dust away. You can apply liberally but MUST wipe dry with fresh cheesecloth. The second coat is a nice light brownish-red tone. Very attractive. I have about 1/3 of the can left. I saved $100 ordering the table unfinished. What a treat it is to work on a fresh new piece; I'm used to stripping and refinishing.

Stick with โNaturalโ, or use dye if you need color
I love Danish oil finish, I use it a lot in Natural and sometimes Walnut. I decided to try the Cherry, and itโs just not great. The coloring isnโt part of the solution, itโs in suspension - so the pigment is just tiny flakes of color floating in the finish. This means the color sorta โsits on topโ of the wood, and itโs difficult to build up a good color without wiping off the pigment during the application process. You get a slight pink effect, but it doesnโt get deeper/richer with more applications. If you need to get a piece of Maple to look vaguely like a light Cherry, this might work. But if youโve got a nice Cherry piece, just let the wood do itโs thing with a Natural Danish oil. (Pro tip: Cherry will darken significantly in direct sunlight, even a few hours sun can dramatically enrich the color). After testing on a scrap piece, I ended up just using Natural Danish oil followed by a wax on my Cherry project and itโs beautiful. I shouldโve realized - good Cherry doesnโt need any help, itโs already perfect.

Great product but not thrilled about color
Easy to apply and dries with a real nice finish. The cherry color is a little bit more orange than I was expecting. I was trying to match this piece to something else I stained with minwax cherry color and it came out a lot more red.

Beautiful sheen and color
Really beautiful finish after just a few coats. I sanded an old Lane coffee table that had lost most of its finish over the years. I followed the directions on the can which called for a couple of coats and I'm very pleased with the results. It doesn' provide a super reflective and tough finish like polyurethane but I'm really happy with the sheen and color.

Good product but expensive
Like other Watco Danish Oils, this is a very good product. It proivides a consistent good finish and is easy to use. The price point however is high at $90. (Canadian) for a pint. The bottom line is you get what you pay for and this is a quality product.
