Phenomenal Luxury Orthopedic (for real tho) dog bed
This pet bed is so comfortable and plush that I think I would like to get one for myself as a mattress! I have a senior dog and while this is definitely a luxury item, I wanted to spoil her this year and this bed definitely fit the bill. She loves it so much and it is so thick and keeps her so far off the ground, I know it’s great for temperature control and comfort. I have a 50 pound husky mix, and the medium size worked just fine because her preference is to sleep in a tiny ball. We did buy her a back-up bed that’s larger from a different brand to see if it was more important to her to be able to stretch out, and she still sleeps in both of them in a tiny ball, so now we have one for upstairs and downstairs. Again, it is an expensive purchase, so we’re not buying a second one right now, but I think next year we will definitely be investing to replace the other one. I really love how all the pieces come apart and you can wash the cover if you need to. Oh my gosh! They also included a little stuffed dog frisbee in the packaging, so thoughtful. I’m not sure if that’s a limited holiday treat, but we appreciated that too. Again, senior dog, but we do put medical ointment on her feet, and that does appear to be staining the bed, otherwise haven’t had any issues with staining, and I know that the paw stuff has oil in it so we’re not too worried about the bed. Oil stains are a pain but we prefer happy paws. We’ll see if that comes out when we give it a wash, and we thought about it when we got the lighter color, but it is a dog bed - it doesn’t need to be pristine. I haven’t had a chance to test the waterproof or lack of state, but that is a point the review prompt is asking about, so I just wanted to address that it hasn’t come up for us just yet. Fully support and encourage this purchase if you have a pet you love and would love to spoil, or if there’s someone else in your life who has a beloved pet, this would be such an impactful gift.

Favorite dog bed so far
I get on these kicks looking at dog beds, in search of the perfect one. I'm not going to say this one is perfect, but it's my favorite we've ever had! We have a 65 pound boxer who is 3 years old. He likes to sleep on anything comfy (that may or may not be made for dogs). As you can see in the pictures, he enjoys his Casper bed! So it is dog approved - he lays on it often and both curls up and stretches out. He likes the bolsters. But I also approve it! I like how thick and firm the mattress is and the 4 bolster inserts. The cover material is sturdy and feels like it'll last (it's been in the washer and dryer just once so far), but still comfy enough to attract the pup. I like how they designed the cover and zippers - putting it together is easy and it holds it's original shape. The only thing I wish is that there was a size between the medium and large. We got the large and I wish it were a tad smaller. But I think the medium would be too small since he does like to stretch out, too. It doesn't bother me enough to want a different bed. If I do buy him another bed, it will likely be this very one. I'm telling you, we've had several brands and styles... And I'm really liking this one. Pricier than I've spent on dog beds, but I'm glad I did!

smart design, great for older dog
We have an elderly dog with declining mobility and most dog beds are too fluffy - they catch on her feet when she tries to turn to lay down, or they have high side bolsters that she can't get over very well. This bed is perfect for her. The firmness of the foam is just right to cushion her joints and bones while supportive enough for her to walk on without getting caught up. The side bolsters are very slight - just enough to give stability to the edges of the bed and a slight rise for her head, without being a tripping hazard. The design is the best-thought-out that I have encountered. Each foam section has a liner covering, and the actual cover has a seperate zip compartment for the main central rectangle - there's no squeezing or smashing of stuffing into place - everything slots in smoothly, zips with a nice fit and hidden zipper, and the end of the zipper is even covered to protect the floor. And I know that it will be easy to remove and replace the cover for washing. My *only* complaint is that we really need a size between medium and large - large is really really big, but medium is too small for our dog. Kudos to Casper for a great, well-thought out product!

High quality dog bed
Best dog bed ove ever purchased. Their first Casper dog bed purchased (this model in grey) was almost 2 years ago and it has been kicked around, stepped on and well used by a 25 pound dog. It also has been on a few car trips and squished into the seat. It holds its shape very well, and the cover can be taken off and washed. Decided to purchase a second one for upstairs. My dog loves it. It is a high-quality bed that keeps it shape overtime (for reference the gray bed is the almost three year-old bed and the tan is the new bed). I wish they would make a car seat.

Awesome bed but…
The firmness and plushness of this bed, combined with the high quality, thick, and durable cover, are a winning combination. It took my dog a while to adopt the bed, but once she did, she enjoys it, and it seems to give her a great deal of support. It does slide on floors and carpets. For my younger puppy that was quite disconcerting at first. The only real problem I’ve encountered is getting the top truly clean looking. The material is lovely. But for some reason I can’t get it clean in the washing machine. I did give it a pre-wash, soak, and light scrub, but I still have staining. That’s really disappointing for otherwise outstanding bed.

Comfortable, practical, and humom-approved
I purchased this for my senior Shiba Inu because she’s been having trouble standing and keeps falling off the bed at night. The medium size is almost big enough for her to stretch out on her side—she can’t sleep on her stomach or curled up anymore. I love that I can remove the inner padding to clean it easily, and it didn’t have a harsh smell when it arrived. It’s comfortable enough that I can lie next to her on the ground and use it as a pillow. I’ve been using a puppy pad and a towel on top to catch accidents, and so far it’s working well. Unlike other memory foam beds, it doesn’t get too hot. It’s a little pricey, but for my pup, it’s worth every penny.

Not worth the price. Very disappointed.
UPDATE! From 2 stars to 1. These are junk. Other bed has same issue as first one now, with popped seam on cover. My dog discovered the foam layer this time, though, and I came home to a mess of shredded (not memory, but just "regular") foam. The bonus? Dog puke--a mixture of dog food and foam, to be precise--coating my hardwood floor. Do not buy this bed, unless you enjoy spending relatively large sums of money for a junk product. Run far away from this one... I've never purchased a worse dog bed in over 30 years of dog ownership. We bought two of these back in August (we have two mutts, one about 60 lbs/2 years old and the other about 45 lbs and 5 years old), deciding to spend more on higher quality beds vs buying another $40 bed from Costco or the grocery store. We’d been through lots of beds over the years and hoped this would be a long term solution. Simply put, the quality is not there. We wash these monthly on delicate in mesh bags…I have followed every cleaning recommendation given in the initial documentation, as I loved these beds and wanted them to last. Unfortunately, the fabric looked completely different after the first wash and the overall softness has deteriorated significantly since the first wash back in September. Also, know that the inner padding will NOT survive the washing machine without significant damage. If your dog pees on this bed, it WILL soak though to the foam! If you are right there and witness the peeing, you might be okay. But if there’s 10 minutes of soak time, the pee will absolutely soak through the bed and end up on your floor (this was the issue with our younger dog). I’m leaving this review today because I just noticed the stitching on one of the beds is failing…there’s no tear or chewing from the dogs or anything, the seam has just popped open. These beds are not meant to last. Long story short: great idea for a high quality bed, but the actual product is not worth the high price and you would be better off with another $40-50 bed with memory foam. Don’t buy this bed.

our 3 dogs don't like this bed
high quality product. no question. looks very nice. but none of our 3 dogs have used it for 3 months. one of them laid briefly (less than 10 minutes) only once. they would end up sleeping on the sofa, on the rug or on the bare wood floor over this dog bed. and they still use 2 other dog beds (different brands), but not this casper dog bed. not only that, when accidentally kicking the dog bed, it'd slide across the floor very easily. too lightweight unlike other dog beds that we've owned. yes, we regret buying this high end dog bed that our dogs don't even like.
