Well worth the money
When you buy led lenser you know you've bought quality not only that, there customer service is as excellent as amazons. Want a super bright, clear circle of light? Then buy led lenser. I became a convert about 5 years ago, just needed a torch and went by reviews. I started of with the 'police tech' handheld (which everyone in my family now owns, curtesy of father Xmas)! Now to this headtorch, the adjustable band is done on like a 'slip' system so really easy to alter, even still on your head. The elasticacted fabric used for the headband is supersoft, so the part that actually touches your forehead, doesn't irritate at all. It has such good tension (without giving pressure pains) that you can tip your head forward without it falling off (really handy when picking up dog poo in the early hrs)! The torch itself is again very easy to work, on the top of the light unit is the nice raised button, and has really bright, bright and flashing. In the bulb area, is a dial that you can turn as to whether you want 'flood' or 'pinpoint' (the only way I could think of explaining the focusing). As to the battery, you have the nice touch of having two options, either using the rechargeable battery pack or using standard aa batteries. To be honest, I've not stood with a watch, to give an accurate charge time so I can't comment on that, I just plug in on the odd evening and unplug in the morning. I now own an array of led lenser torches and what don't understand is how makes like petzel are so highly priced but not as bright. So all in all a well made torch that is designed and built to last! My five year old headtorch is still going strong but is now cable tied to my bike helmet, hence purchasing this one.

Light in the Darkness
This is a phenomenally good head torch, with a feature I never knew I needed. Working as an electrical engineer, I often find myself in cramped spaces switching between looking at an electrical cabinet, then drawings. You need the bright light whilst in the cabinet, before blinding yourself as you look at the paperwork. Not with this torch! By using a light sensor it continously adjusts the light level depending on how much light is reflected back. Or you can keep it in high power mode, or low power to preserve power. It even has a red light function if you need it. The strap is a bit tricky to remove, but can't be completely detached for washing. The rechargeable battery has been working well, and has definitely saved a small fortune in disposable batteries already! If you need a light in the dark, then this torch will shine your way!

Very bright & rechargeable
These are great head torches and we've had them for years! We have two of these for walking/running off road with the dogs over the Winter months - we live on a farm, so they're more than adequate to light up forestry tracks & paths in total darkness. On the high beam setting they can pick out Deer eyes across the fields too. Being rechargeable means you don't have to worry about batteries and a charge will last several hours even on the high setting.

Powerful, quality design with a really neat automatic brightness setting
Iโve been quite a fan of LED Lenser products for some time. Iโve begun to think, recently, that there are LED torches, and then LED Lenser torches; LED Lenser seeming to usually come up with great design, ergonomics and materials. If youโre short of time; Iโll leave a summary at the end of this review of the proโs and conโs that you can skip to if youโd prefer. The SEO7R I originally purchased was as a gift for someone who had been using another brand of battery powered LED head torch. Iโm used to my LED Lenser P7, so when we tested out the SEO7R against this older Energizer torch the results were quite funny. I popped the SEO7 into its lower power state and it clearly outshines the Energizer, and when popped into itโs maximum brightness setting the completely blows the Energizer away. I was so impressed by this that I purchased a second unit for myself to replace my own older LED head torch of another brand. But a head torch is not all about the raw power, which is what brought be to looking at the SEO7R in the first place. The weather isnโt always good around these parts so a good water resistance is a great idea, for something thatโs potentially going to be exposed to heavy rain. In this regard the SEo7R comes equipped with water seals that give it an IPx6 rating and, for those not in the know, thatโs more than enough to keep heavy rain at bay. Iโve also owned many head torches where they can be angled but the hinge is flimsy and moves about if you stamp too hard or swing your head too fast. In this area, LED Lenser have added โridgesโ to the SEO7R that are deep enough to keep the head torch locked into the desired angle but not too deep as to need 2 hands and considerable force to adjust the angle on the fly. And the final thing thatโs quite important about a head torch is the quality of the band. The band on the SEO7R is replaceable and washable, itโs soft and wide, and thereโs a decent length to be able to adjust it for larger heads or bring it in for small heads. Iโd hazard a guess and say that itโs likely that it could fit a child too. Again more winning points in this regard. Moving on to the actual light, LED Lenser have a very nice function on the SEO7R called Optisense. โWhat on Earth is that?โ I hear you call out. What LEDL have done is put an optical sensor on the front of the head torch that monitors the amount of light shining back at the user. In conditions where the brightness is higher, where the head torch predicts that you are in fact looking at something close up, the power of the SEO7R is adjusted down in realtime so that you arenโt getting too blinded by the awesome power of the torch. This is by far my favourite setting but there are others packed into this device. Alongside the primary, maximum brightness, there is a dimmer setting where you can set a brightness of your choosing and it will remember it, and the last whit light setting is a strobe for hardcore parties perhaps. on the opposite side to the optical sensor is a small red LED light that make the last couple of settings for using a dimmer red light thatโs less prone to ruining night vision. Like many LEDL torches, the SEO7R comes with the advanced focusing system that lets you very smoothly and quickly adjust the light from a very tidy focus to a very wide circle. The focus on these is very nice and tidy and useful for a long range beam on max brightness and the wide flood is great for tacking tasks like DIY, car repair, walking and map reading. The SEO7R is capable of running on AAA batteries (x3) and the โTest-itโ pack actually comes with 3x AAA batteries pre-installed for demonstration purposes. But ordering from Amazon : these are likely to be fully powered and useful spares. The Lithium Ion battery that is provided is 800mAh; not that large a capacity but very light weight and lasts long enough (especially with optisense and the adaptive brightness). Now on to the let downs. Firstly, the instructions I received (v.01) are old and have an inaccurate depiction of battery insertion that would have you put the battery in the complete wrong way round. So follow the + - on the battery and torch terminals. LEDL have corrected this in newer versions of the manual though. Also, there is functionality in the torch called Smart Light Technology for energy saving mode. Apparently you can switch between energy saving mode and constant current mode. That said, the instructions I received made absolutely no reference to this feature and, upon contacting LEDL, they were able to confirm the modes exist but stopped replying when I pressed them for information about how to switch between the modes. Thereโs also no information in the instructions about charging the battery other than to plug it into a PC. Thereโs no depiction of the red / green lights, no expected charging times and no input current rating on the battery or instructions. These inaccuracies and the lack of information has lead to me having to knock a star off the review rating. This is still a brilliant head torch but thereโs actually a function in there somewhere that I donโt know how to change. In summary, this is a very nice head torch that is possibly just about worth the price tag. Proโs - Very nice focussing system for a tidy focussed beam and a perfectly even flood - Very powerful max brightness - Self adjusting brightness, Optisense, to stop it being too bright to read by - Head band is comfortable and very adjustable - Water resistance is good as this can be used in heavy rain conditions - 800mAh battery capacity is enough. Conโs - Instructions are poor - Missing instruction and no support to tell me how to enable / disable energy saving mode - very stiff battery housing, because of water resistance; bad if you have arthritis etc

A step up from other brands at this price point
I previously owned an Energizer head torch and wanted a rechargeable replacement. Like the Energizer, the Ledlenser SEO 7R accepts (and is supplied with) 3x AAA batteries, but also features a USB rechargeable power pack. My experience is that batteries soon fade after installation and diminish light intensity. The single led and adjustable focus of the SEO 7R makes for a versatile and well defined pool of light. Extended range over distance is impressive. Full power is maintained consistently until the light cuts completely once the power pack loses its charge. I tend to use it on full power so make a habit of plugging in every few days to avoid being plunged into darkness when dog walking. The lower and longer lasting light output can be selected and is more than adequate in most circumstances. Angle adjustment is excellent, allowing illumination of maps or whatโs at your feet, right out to 100m plus distant. The head strap has reflective detail, adding to safety. A well designed, robust and versatile head torch built to the typically high Ledlenser standard.

Great Head Lamp for Running
I started running couch to 5k earlier this year and am determined to keep running through the winter. I run on a local trail through a wood which I have found far more enjoyable than on a road however there are no lights at night which is a problem now that winter has kicked in. I decided to research lights for runners and could only find a few with the LED Lenser LED6107 SEO7R Rechargeable Head Lamp being the one that a few runners have recommended so I thought I would give it a go. The lamp fits comfortably onto the forehead with a well-made elasticated strap that is comfortable to wear. You get used to the slight weight and can pretty much ignore it. I now run for up to an hour and a half now and the lamp easily lasts 2 sessions before I recharge it. You can use the rechargeable battery supplied as well as 4 x AAA batteries if you need to. The lamp has adjustable brightness and an automatic feature to modify the amount of light depending on ambient conditions. I keep it simple and just use the full brightness. You can also adjust the focus of the beam which again I use wide angle which lights up a significant area brighter than daytime 9In the woods). All in all this little lamp will keep me running and for that I am grateful as now that I have a fitness level and can run further than I could as a child I am happy for that hour of freedom in an evening just enjoying the fresh air and those woodland smells. I would highly recommend this lamp to anyone out and about, walking, running, jogging etc in the dark, you will be able to see and you will be seen.

This headtorch is excellent. I have been running in my local woods ...
This headtorch is excellent. I have been running in my local woods with it in pitch black and it lights up the area great. You can narrow the beam or make it wide and change the brightness with ease. The light is also on a hinge so i can angle it right at the ground in front of me or a bit further out depending how fast i am running. You can also charge the battery up with the mini usb cable suplied or put normal batteries in it. I love the fact it takes such a widely used cable for charging the same as my phone so i have charging leads in the car at home and at work. Would recommend to anyone who wants to carry on with their run training through the dark winter months.
