Speedball 10218 Mona Lisa Water-Based Sealer For Metal Leafing Projects – Clear, Fast Drying, Sealant - 2 Ounces

I had ordered this already. It was my second time using it. I love the way it works. It’s easy to put on and it drives very fast. Once you open it and you get the seal of the opener with the liquid it tightens up where you can’t open it but it’s great.

I used the Mona Lisa adhesive to apply my imitation gold foil to my paintings or ceramic pieces, and after drying as required, I applied this sealer to keep the gold from getting rubbed off or yellowing with time. I haven't had it long enough to see if it truly works, but it looks great. Easy to apply, several coats should be done. Drying time depends on what you are sealing, adhesion is important to make sure there's no air bubbles in the brush strokes.

There are two Speedball items in my photo and I have the same to say about both so I’m using the same review for both. This is the best metal leaf sealer, and adhesive size that I have ever used. Everything about them was absolutely perfect. So far I’ve used them on leather, wood, and seashells, and the results have been equally perfect. The adhesive size was very tacky, applied smoothly, dried quickly and evenly, and produced spectacular results. The sealer did the same; looked great, applied smooth and evenly, and dried fast. The inside lid and the rim of the adhesive are starting to get a cakey buildup of product now that I am halfway through the bottle so I’m going to have to clean it out to make sure it screws on properly, but that just proves that it’s an excellent product because it has superior stickiness and therefore, adhesion. Extremely pleased with these products.

I am a gilding machine now! I've been gilding cheap plastic picture frames. Turning them into the most gorgeous, beautiful frames! You would have never known that these frames were around $5! Plastic frames or just plastic what-ever makes a beautiful flush gilding. I am attaching a picture of a cheap $4 frame I bought at the craft store. I also used all speedball products gilding on it. This frame has the Sealer on it too. As far as I am concerned, this Sealer works very nicely. This finished picture frame looks like a Million bucks! Haven't seen any change of color at all. It doesn't dull the finish and I am just overall very pleased with it.
