Different uses
I love these HotSnaps. I have had these for a few years now and they are still working fine like the first day I bought them. I not only use them for the winter to keep my hands warm, but I have to get labs drawn every 3 months and I use these to help make my lab draw easier (I'm a hard stick). The only complaint I have is sometimes the packet hardens when it's been sitting for a while not being used, but it goes back to being liquid with boiling in a pot of water for a few minutes. The size fits in the palm of your hand and gets pretty warm. I don't think it would be safe for a child. I think it's pretty good value and definitely useful.

Love these in the winter!
I LOVE that these are reusable. I somehow bought some before but lost all of them during our last move. I have no idea where they are so I had to buy another box of course! They get VERY warm VERY fast. They are an incredible value because they’re reusable. They also are the perfect size for your hands. They do not stay *super* hot for a very long time, but they stay hot enough for long enough. They’re even nice to put on your feet during the cold winter nights. I’ve not had any issues with quality, even after numerous times reboiling them.Love these and they have saved my poor little cold hands so many times.

How long to boil these to restore...
Some folk complain that these things don’t work more than once. Happened to me when I boiled one to restore usefulness. The boiled one cooled and hardened, well sort of. It became granulated rather than remain liquid and was not useful. So I boiled the hell out of it next time and it cooled and retained liquid form. Of course, boiling the hell out of these is not a useful recommendation, so next time I used a timer and measured boiling time. Like boiling an egg, 10 minutes at a good boil seemed to produce best results. The product came sealed in a thick, but soft, clear plastic sealed pouch. The liquid inside is green. Out of the six sent, all seemed fine—no leakers. I measured the temperature after activation and the highest it got to was 126 F. Within 10 minutes it began to cool. After twenty minutes it was not very hot.. I assume if it was being used on the body, it might have even cooled quicker. So it looks like it will produce useable/high heat for about 10 minutes.

Unique and great product, esp for muscle spasms!!
Heating pads are my answer when I get a muscle cramp, esp in my one of my thighs. At home I use a microwaveable heating pad (rice, etc). When away, after searching for a long time, I finally found the perfect product!!! Typical camping hand warmer packs take 15 minutes to warm up! Too long!! Way.This product warms up very quickly to a perfect temp and is reusable!!! One of these packs recently rescued my wife on a 5 hour flight to NY!!! There is a concave metal disk in the pack. All you have to do is hold the disk's outer edges between two fingers with the "bump side" facing you and push the bump with your thumb until it clicks. That does something that causes the pack to warm up rather quickly!! To re-use, just put the pack into rapidly boiling water for 20 minutes and it is as good as new. I did have one clicker break and they were WONDERFUL about replacing it immediately. Thank you, Ray! A+++++++++++

Great Hand Warmers
These are great for putting in pockets to keep hands warm. They keep my hands warm for about 30-40 minutes or so depending on the temperature outside. I have used in mid 20-30 degrees. The output of heat does gradually decrease but still does the job. They are easy to recharge. I keep mine in the hot water a little longer since once in while they start to harden up after removing too soon. This is my second order of HotSnap. I have given some away.

Didn't recharge for re-use
After using all my packs once, I tried to recharge them in boiling water as instructed. They seemed completely liquid with all the crystals re-dissolved when I took them out of the pot, but after leaving them to cool back to room temperature, they had all gone back to rock hard again. I'll try re-doing one of them for an extra five minutes longer than the instructions said and see if that helps. They were nice the first time around, but not happy about all the time I wasted today standing over a pot of boiling water with nothing to show for it.

My ski book pre-heaters
These are great ski boot heaters before skiing. Nothing like putting your foot into a warm flexible ski boot just before skiing. What you do is, stuff one HotSnapZ up into the toe and put another at the heel of the inside of both your ski boots. Then I stuff something like a sock or foam in the ankle of the boot and buckle it, to trap the heat inside the insulated boot. Then I put a few HotZnapZ at the bottom of a large cloth cooler bag, put my ski boots on top of them (because heat rises) and zip it up, to help heat the outside of the boot. I do this just before I drive 1 to 2-1/2 hours up skiing. The heat is trapped in so it lasts over 3 hours in the back of an SUV. I'm sure the heat would be shorter timeframe if the boots and cooler started off colder than room temperature and/or cooler bag were exposed to extreme cold weather, like in the back of a truck bed or trunk of a car. I only use them to heat my ski boots maybe 15 times a winter and the last purchase was in 2015 and those are starting to show crystals in the liquid before activated them. But even with crystals, they still work after 9 years.

Hot ice experiment
Use these for a hot ice experiment that I do with my science kids. Works great to demonstrate exothermic reactions.
